My sister said to me "you've already had sex before marriage, so why do you have to wait now?" And I said because I've been BORN AGAIN. God cleansed me of my sins and now I don't want to break His commands. Thank the Lord he gave me another chance to start over with this new wisdom!!

@Negev-Israel, what gives you the assurance that you will have time to become a Christian before dying? You might die in a car crash or any other type of accident, or heart attack. Please humble yourself before God before it's too late. We only have one life, so please don't mess it up by remaining an enemy of God. God changes hearts and makes people brand-new creatures. It could be you. Don't harden your heart.

As a former bisexual (amongst other things) who is now a spirit filled, Bible believing, follower of Jesus the answer is definitely no. To quote a well known show... " I was one way, but now I am completely different, and the thing that happened in-between was Him."

    • @michaelbowen2343
      @michaelbowen2343 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Ty guys for the encouragement. I copied my testimony from a pinned post on my Facebook page, so here it is :)....
Testimony time!.... If you know me you know I am a follower of Jesus, BUT obviously that wasn't always the case. When I was a child my parents occasionally took me to church and did their best to instill Christian values in me, my maternal grandma also took me to church often and told me about Jesus, and whether or not she knew it at the time she planted spiritual seeds that would ultimately lead me to the truth one day. I'd be lying if I said life wasn't difficult for me at times when I was a child because you see I was born with a disability called Spina Bifida, a birth defect that occurs in about 1 out of every 2,875 births in the US. This particular birth defect left me paralyzed and in need of a wheelchair for the rest of my life, which admittedly made that life difficult for me to navigate at times, but praise the living God for the parents and siblings He gave me for always advocating for me and raising me in such a way that I was given every opportunity possible that a "normal" kid would get AND for never allowing me to use my disability as an excuse not to try. Despite some difficulties my childhood was pretty happy, but later in life as I began to enter my teens hormones set in and with that things got more mentally and emotionally complicated for me. At about age 12 or 13 I discovered and became addicted to porn, an addiction that would follow me well into my marriage until only a few short years ago. To add to that when I was well into my senior year of highschool I REALLY started to struggle mentally and emotionally with being bisexual, being overwhelmingly depressed at times to the point of wanting to take my own life, and being so angry at times that I struggled with thoughts of murder. My mind was a VERY dark and depressing place back then and it's only by the will and grace of the living God that I'm here now a brand new creation in Christ. It also didn't help that back then the only Christians I encountered were Bethelites or other Pentecostal types that were hyper-fixated on the supernatural and always attempting to invite me to miracle conventions of sorts or church services where I could get prayed up and God could "fix"me. I am heartbroken to say that not a single one of them shared the biblical gospel with me, instead they put God in a box and tried desperately to convince me that God's ultimate plan for my life was for him to heal my disability. No one shared with me the fact that in God's kingdom and in God's eyes I had equal value to others and that He loved me unconditionally whether I walked or not, instead I was made to feel like God's kingdom was a place only meant for perfectly whole, pristine, healthy, people and that God could never love me in my current state. My best friend and brother John Brown was the only one out of people like that who showed me Christ's love through his unwavering and non judgemental loyalty and friendship, which also planted a spiritual seed in my life. Yes he also wanted me to come to his church because he wanted to see God heal me so I could walk, but his intentions were pure and he never made me feel like I was broken. Anyway in 2005, two years after I graduated highschool I got to my lowest point ever… I was crying all the time when I was alone, I stayed up all night and slept most of the day away, and I don't recall eating much at all. I was so depressed back then that I was just emotionally numb and physically cold all the time. Honestly I just got to a point where no matter how hard I tried I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. And so I purposed in my heart that if something didn't change or someone or something didn't intervene in about a month or so I was going to end it all. Truth be told the only thing stopping me from ending it was the thought of what my killing myself would do to my family, that and I also started having what I can I only describe as this nudge at the very core of my being that basically told me if I killed myself there would be no going back and I KNEW that if I went through with it I would irrevocably end up in Hell. So one late night while laying in my bed sobbing and still not wanting to live, but also not wanting to end up in Hell for eternity, I did the craziest and most desperate thing I could think of.... I prayed for help. I didn't know if God was real or even listening, and I didn't expect an answer, but I had to do something. I don't remember what I said exactly but it was something along the lines of "God I don't know if you're out there or can hear me, but please help me." The second those words left my lips the change I felt was immediate. It was as if some unknown powerful presence just showed up and drove the pain, depression, sexual confusion, murderous anger, all out of my body. That same presence then took the place of all of the emotional garbage that it had just purged me of and came to reside in me forever. My depression was now replaced with indescribable joy, my confusion was now replaced with unbreakable certainty, and my murderous anger was now replaced with a peace that surpasses all human understanding; In short I now had the spirit of the living God residing in me and guiding me. To say I was shocked at what just happened is an understatement, and my immediate reaction was to shoot up out of my bed and say out loud "He's real?!?!?" I tell you after the Lord saved my life that night and I passed from death to life EVERYTHING was different. The world was completely new to me as if I was a newborn baby seeing it for the very first time, heck! even food tasted better. Can you imagine what that is like? Do you want to? Did my testimony somehow relate to or resonate with what you are currently going through in your own life and you want to know the same amazing freedom that I do now? Because you absolutely can if you are sincere in that desire. See you and I are born with this spiritual infection of sorts called sin, which basically means we have this stain on our souls that causes us to be separated from God and always miss the mark with Him and fall short of his impossibly high standards of perfection. Furthermore the physical and eternal consequences of not living up to God's impossibly high standard of perfection is eternal separation from Him, and to be completely cut off from Him is to be completely cut off from the literal source of love, joy, peace, and every other good and beautiful thing in all of creation. It doesn't matter how nice of a person you or I may be, or how loving and compassionate or helpful you and I are to people, we still lie, hate, lust, steal, and do numerous things that cause us to widen the rift and continue fall short of God's standard of perfection (Romans 3:23.) Only one person in the history of the universe has ever completely lived up to God's impossible standard..... God Almighty Himself. Instead of sitting on the sidelines and allowing you and I to be eternally separated from God by our own choices He took it upon Himself to clean up our mess. 2000 years ago God took human form in the person of Jesus Christ and He lived a perfect and blameless life, even going so far as to experience everything we would in this life (sorrow, temptation, rejection, etc.) More than that Jesus willingly took the eternal punishment for your sins and mine upon himself to pay the heavy price for our mistakes so we could all have reconciliation with God through Him for all eternity. Jesus was brutally tortured and murdered unjustly on your behalf and mine, but then rose again 3 days after He died (proving His identity as God) just so he wouldn't have to spend eternity without you, His child because He loves you with a love that will never waiver. Whoever you are whatever you've done it is vital that you understand that God purposely limited Himself by giving you free will, and according to His own honorable nature He won't force you into His presence against your will, it HAS to be your choice. No matter what you've done or how far you've fallen you are NOT beyond His redemption, If however you continue to choose to live this life separated from God then He will honor that decision in eternity. Now you may be asking "why should I take God at His word or believe anything at all in the Bible is true? Well looking at the Bible there are 73 books that were written over the course of 1500 years on three different continents by over 40 different authors, some of which were from different generations and didn't have any contact whatsoever; And yet these authors all came together to form this one congruent story. Jesus Himself has fulfilled over 300 old testament messianic prophecies and the probability of somebody fulfilling even just 8 messianic prophecies is 1 and 10 to the 17th power which is 1 with 17 0s behind it. If you were to drop that many coins into the state of Texas it would fill it two feet deep. 48 prophecies is 1 and 10 to the 157th power. So if you lined up electrons it would take you 19,000,000 years to count all of those electrons. This is all to say that it is humanly impossible as well as statistically impossible for anybody to fulfill these prophecies, yet Jesus did. You can trust Him. You can take Him at his word. He's standing at the door of your heart knocking.... Will you answer?

Jesus didn't say anything about pedophilia (now called "minor attracted persons"), beastiality (now called "zoophilia"), or multiple/multual sex partners ("polyamorism"), either.
Edited to add regarding the three listed above:
    - There are factions of academia and psychiatry who are already pushing the idea that an attraction to children is a sexual orientation, which the person "unfortunately, cannot act upon." They always start by trying to build sympathy. Some are also making a case that some minors could want and welcome early sexual relationships with a "trusted" adult.
-There have been demonstrations in Europe by men standing with their dogs by their sides, declaring their love and sexual affinity for their pets. The demonstrations were protected by police.
-There are already churches where the congregants are tearfully told that "God loves and honors your polyamorous relationships."
Will the day come when anyone who doesn’t affirm those practices will be called a bigot?

No, you cannot, and Jesus spoke of sexual immorality, which includes homosexuality. In 2008, I was a gay-identified man, in a committed, monogamous same-sex relationship, active in an affirming church, where we called ourselves gay Christians. Then I found myself in an ICU where the medical team classified me clinically dead after a 22-minute flatline. I experienced death, judgement and hell. When I couldn’t take any more demonic torment, I cried out in repentance, “Jesus!” and I heard the Savior say, “I am here.” At that moment, I saw with my eyes the Wind of the Holy Spirit fill my ICU and with great power, He pick up Satan and the demonic and blew them out of the room. On that day, my life changed, the redemptive Blood of Jesus cleared my mind of perversion and completely healed and restored every failing organ. Glory to God!

God bless you! The gay promotion is part of bigger, malignant agenda with the sole purpose of creating a wedge between God and humanity. There's no actual truth to any of the promises they boasts of joy, love and peace. On the contrary, that all comes from God.
Keep seeking God, through Jesus Christ, in fervent truth - He liberates and cleans us, for His purpose for us is good. He seeks a Church w/o spot, crease or blemish (Ephesians5:27); thus, He is the One who sanctifes us. We just have to seek Him, truly, and remain holding on to His promises. We were once drowning in sin, but no more. We were once one thing, but no more. For some WERE us, but no longer, as written below:
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17).
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11).

Homosexuality is the full corruption of the human identity; so, to directly answer your question: everything is wrong. Thus, it's written:

Correct. You can be a Christian that has same sex attractions, but once people make their identity based on their sexuality, they're basically saying they know better than God and I find it hard to reconcile their faith. I'm sure some people are tricked into speaking that way but actually are Christian, yet there's a difference between embracing the identity and recognizing the sin.

@@joepugh678 Love is not lust, and homosexuality is not of God as it's an abomination before His eyes (Leviticus 20:13). Why would God order to stone gays, back then, if what they possessed was love?
Additionally, even if they do not engage in physical relationships, they'd still be charged with being gay or lust, as Jesus explained in regards to lust: “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:27-28). And, being gay is the payment given to humanity when they distance themselves from God, self-corruption, as elaborated here: "Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, ... For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due." (Romans 1:24,26-27).
So, yes, people vainly attempt to justify themselves but all entirely wrong for God can and will liberate them and heal them of the perversion, if they choose to seek Him in fervent truth. Thus, it's written: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. Against people who make such claims I would say:
The whole Bible is God’s word, not just the words of Jesus. All scripture is God breathed. The spirit that Jesus spoke by was the same spirit by which the prophets and apostles spoke from long ago, the Spirit of God. Jesus is the same God as the God in the Old Testament. Jesus also spoke against fornication/sexual immorality in Matthew 15:19 which that word in Greek defines it accordingly to God’s laws in the Old Testament surrounding sex. This includes adultery, bestiality, homosexuality & lesbianism. Paul also speaks against such sexually illicit acts in 1 Corinthians 6:9 (fornicators), 1 Timothy 1:10 (sodomites), Roman’s 1:26-27 (homosexuals). Jude also speaks about God’s judgment against those who go after strange flesh (unauthorized, foreign sexual conduct).
We should not affirm or justify homosexuality and no regenerate Christian makes practice or delights in such acts like an unbeliever but if a believer is struggling with that rather than condemn them, like Paul we should encourage and exhort them that their bodies matter to God, they belong to Him, that we should glorify Him while in this flesh and can do so by relying on His power.

Another argument is that Jesus is God, the Father is God, and the Spirit is also God. The God of the Old Testament is not in "ideology" separate from Jesus and condemned homosexuality as capital punishment, and all the words written by Paul in the New Testament are inspired by the Spirit. The historic churches have always understood that a Christian is someone who has been baptized into Christ. There are sheep and goats, wheat and tares among the body of Christ. Salvation is not to be taken for granted. It is a process that we are to work out with "fear and trembling". God sanctifies, over time, those who choose to follow him. (Those who "Believe and are baptized" as Jesus said in Mark 16:16.) (We do not save ourselves by simply saying a made-up prayer that is nowhere to be found in Scripture). Not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" will be saved. Those who are goats among the sheep, and tares among wheat, will be destroyed, just as Jesus says.

It's true what you write, as well, for Jesus Christ Himself said: "Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me." (John 14:23-24).
Yet, there's a difference between someone struggling through sin in contrast with someone identifying with it. For its stated: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17). So, not everyone who simply states 'Lord, Lord' is true, bur rather he/she who demonstrates their fervent, true faith in action and manner of living; thus, the Apostle Paul explained: "But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness." (Ephesians 4:20-24). That's how one can differentiate between the true or false, sheep or goat, wheat or tares.

Yes I can explain. All of the fullness of the law was lived out by Jesus Christ, who took on the penalty for all of our sin, because otherwise we all would have received the due punishment for our sin, which was death. In the garden in Genesis, God told Adam and Eve that if they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they would die. God shows His mercy by not immediately killing them, but instead cursing them, which is called bearing their iniquity. This is where theology gets deep and requires a mature mind to rightly divide the word of truth. The answer to the question is, "No, unrepentant homosexuals cannot be Christians." The word "unrepentant" is key here. Faith alone, not works, saves. But saving faith is evidenced by good works and a life of repentance. When Paul says that homosexuals and adulterers (and others) cannot enter the kingdom of heaven, there isn't a presumption of sinlessness. It's a presumption of a life of progressive sanctification. We will all sin post-conversion. Some of us will mess up badly. But a truly redeemed person will (eventually) repent, confess their sin, get back up, and do better tomorrow. Those who defiantly live in homosexuality and deny their sin, while attempting to affirm salvation, are who Paul is talking about. These people are not born again and will be shocked when they hear, "Depart from me. I never knew you!" If you have people in your life like this, warn them and pray God grants them repentance.

The genuine believer is secure in Christ and cannot lose their salvation. However, not every profession of faith is genuine. Christ himself said so. The "but" isn't conditioning eternal security. It's about whether or not one is genuinely saved to begin with. A professing believer who knowingly and defiantly lives a lifestyle that the Word condemns, and that person never repents, demonstrates a belief in vain. You neither earn nor keep salvation through good works. You prove you are redeemed to begin with. It is impossible to escape that truth, as it permeates the NT. That's your position. Armenian: You can lose you salvation. That's what you defended against. "You prove you are redeemed to begin with." No, Christ leaves the 99 and finds the 1 where he is sick, broken and full of sin to meet him where he is. "The extreme, greasy grace notion that you can mechanically be in the club by checking boxes 1, 2, and 3, but never, ever demonstrate a life inclined toward Christ is a concept to be found nowhere in scripture." Right, tell that to the scriptures about the paralyzed healed and went their way, the ten lepers who went their way no following as disciples. The man born blind who professed and was kicked out of the synagogue. Zachias whom all the people (like you) who say, 'But, Lord, he is a SINNER!' All 'professed' Christ and did not follow as disciples in their flesh. Guess their belief was enough just as scripture proclaims. Eph2:8-10, John3:16/6:28,29,40. Ro4:5.10:9,10. You know... all those greasy grace passages. I will agree that many will say, sure I believe in Jesus, but do not. They do it for cultural reasons, family or peer pressure. They certainly don't do it when christendom doesn't show them the need for Christ because of their condemnation of God's law. And like I hate when they tell me to "pray the gay away" because I tried and NEWSFLASH! It doesn't work. And the whole celibacy thing sucks too. We only ever get one chance at life and love is one of the greatest feelings in the world. So, it sucks to know that I'll live my life without feeling love just to feel love in the afterlife.
I will say this: I personally believe that God loves anyone, regardless if they're straight, gay, bisexual, etc. Everyone sins on the daily. And these people who want to tell you that you are an "abomination" are not true Christians, for if they truly followed the word of God, they would know "Judge not, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the same measure you use, it will be measured to you" (Matthew 7:1-2). I wouldn't really take these people too seriously. God's judgements matter, not theirs. Just focus on building a strong relationship with God, believe in Jesus, and be the best person you can be, and everything shall be alright in the end :)

You're mixing various things into one grave error. What makes you think your same-sex attraction are YOUR actual feelings? Just b/c your memory holds same-sex as the only thing you've known, it doesn't mean that's always been the case, nor does it confirm the current modern belief of being born this way. You've made a small reference to the Bible, but have you read on how certain things are to be discerned spiritually, by the Spirit? (1 Corinthians 2:14).
As an example, through psychology, we are able to identify the affects and influence that certain mental illnesses have on a person. People who suffer depression subsequently experience a change in likes and dislikes. That, in itself, does NOT constitute nor becomes their real, true identity. The like is of homosexuality. To call it a mental illness is incredibly superficial as the issue is not in the mind, though it does influence thoughts, but rather rooted in the soul. Hence, my mention of being discerned spiritually.
You dictate to yourself a hopeless situation with an absence of love and fulfillment that's associated in finding a partner and spouse. However, it's because of your lack of faith that you only see despair. Sure, you can watch porn and hook up with anyone - same sex or not - but that doesn't bring satisfaction in the heart. It only satisfies the carnel desires of the flesh at that particular moment. Not sure why you, or anyone, would consciously elect that lifestyle? To each their own.
God can liberate from homosexuality. Most often people only allow themselves to listen to the garbage lies of the world that say you cannot change and pair it with the personal feelings inside that suggest one was created gay. That makes ZERO sense. I was gay once and voiced it proudly and believed the same lie. Of course, I was unhappy; but, only gave the "Christian crazy-talk" a shot once I found myself with no future or hope. To my surprise, what the Bible says it's true. So, who says God cannot clean you, heal you or liberate you? You do. And that's the choice made, which is the simple doctrine of the Christian faith: an election. Not sure if you believe, or not, in God, but I hope what I shared simplifies it. Of course, there's more depth to it and the Bible explains it in full. There's hope, and God is real. Your decision is what dictates what your outcome will be. Not by force, but by free election: of faith, or a lack thereof. God bless you!

It’d be evidence that the spirit of God isn’t actually working inside of me. And if you are practicing homosexuality or any sin, conscious sin that you know is wrong but continue on in it, you are not saved. You have not repented. And the spirit of God is not working inside of you. God is not darkness. He is only light. Therefore one who knows the truth yet chooses to continue walking in the ways of sin and darkness, are not His children. Those who may sin, and repent and get back on the path of Christ, those are the ones who are saved. The spirit inside of them will not let them continue on in sin. They will be driven to repentance and turn away from that sin. You can’t have the good of Jesus Christ without repentance and turning away from continual sin. I’m saved because of what Christ did in me, because He granted me a repentant heart supernaturally and in that moment I instantly was freed from the bondage of my own sexual immorality, in pornography. Not merely this state of bliss where we just rest in who we are because Jesus died for us. That sacrifice on the cross is meant to change us, and break us. God is merciful and gracious, but He’s also holy and righteous. The ones who are truly His, He will put through the fire of refinement to sanctify us and to make Him like His son, Christ, before we enter the kingdom of God. God hates sin. So to say that you boldly go to His throne living in constant, repetitive sin, I’m sorry to tell you that He doesn’t hear you. “When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause. “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.””
      ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭20‬ ‭ESV‬
Read that whole first part of Isaiah. He’s talking about a people that believe in Him, but continue on in wickedness and sin. They find themselves justified in the law, the same as people now are finding themselves justified by Christ and what He did, that’s the start of faith. But a mature believer has repented and turned away from continual and repetitive sin.
“But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe-and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?”
      ‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬
If your life isn’t a representation of walking the same way Christ walked, because of the change that happened inside of you, which is salvation, than it’s quite possible that faith is dead. You’re absolutely right, that everyone has sinned and the only way to get into heaven is by believing in Christ and the work of the cross, that we are saved by grace through faith. The question is how do we know we truly are believers? And have we truly repented, which is a turning away from repetitive sin?
“And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
      ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭38‬ ‭ESV‬‬
If you have not repented, if you have not wept and mourned and been broken over your sin, and what we did to Jesus on the cross, to the point of your heart being completely transformed from stone to flesh, and turning from your sin, you do not have the Holy Spirit. That’s scripture, not my opinion. And I am looking at it in the context of the whole Bible. I know God, and He knows me. God is merciful, but He is also judge. Christ gives us the power to turn from sin and become like Him. That’s why there is no excuse. But believing is just the first step, the entrance to the narrow gate. We must take the step of repentance, which God graciously grants.

Correct, they still have no entry into Heaven. Adultery, fornication and homosexuality are all different types of sins (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), though we usually see them overlap. If a LGBTQ+ person does not engage in the first two, they're still homosexual.
It's written: “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:27-28). Lust is another type of sin, which people, straight or gay, engage in almost daily in this modern, lustful society. It's ever-present in the hypersexual LGBTQ+ community. So, even if a gay person does not engage in physical relationships, they're still lusting after other men. That extends from their twisted identity. Typically, no fault of their own - initially. The fault comes when they succumb to the perversion.
Many people are quick to judge b/c it's not a difficult case to sentence. After all, before Christ, in the Law, gays were stoned to death as it's an abomination before the eyes of the Lord. Glory to God, that's not the case anymore and now there's mercy and grace. To him or her who CHOOSES to repent. Even so, there's hope for change and transformation, in healing and liberation that only occurs when we're before the Presence of the Almighty. He cleans, He washes us - if we CHOOSE to lay our sin down at His feet (whatever it is). This is where many don't understand: the healing and liberation process; or, in other words, the transformation. Being gay is a "disease" within the soul. How do you cure it? It's impossible! Ask any member of the LGBTQ+ community. There isn't medication, therapy or procedures that can heal ailments of the soul. Yet, God can. So, yes, there's mercy and grace, but for the person to come to Christ and be freed of their prison, not for them to continue their sinful life, with or without physical intimacy (as noted first, that'd be a different sin/issue). People struggle with that. It's not an easy battle, but not impossible with God. Hope that provides more insight. God bless you!
The desire of attraction is within all souls, however, the soul (a point of light) is genderless, either male or female. The soul simply plays it part according to the body's gender. The first mistake humans made was to identify themselves as male and female, a body, rather than the soul occupying the body. Sometimes a soul will have stronger feelings for a certain body type/gender or just with the soul alone, the personality, which is perfectly normal. Souls have been taking birth to male and female bodies since time immemorial. And in some births we are drawn to a certain body preference due to past life experiences.

Jesus said if anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself, pick up his cross, & follow Him. Being a Christian is not about you. It's not about expressing yourself; it's about denying yourself. It's not about being whatever or whoever you want to be; It's about being who Christ wants you to be. It's not about your identity; it's about reflecting the nature & character of God.
Being gay might be contrary to scripture, just like a straight middle-aged guy being attracted to young single girls, just like someone who wants to get drunk all the time, but that's our cross we have to carry. That analogy tells you it's not going to be easy. But as Jesus Himself said, if you believe, nothing is impossible. God Bless. 🙂

You didn’t answer your own question though; can a Christian be gay?
So if I am both, accepting Paul’s stance in the thing and all, and having lived in celibate my whole life (not without its temptations and sins though) - can I be a Christian if God doesn’t seem to liberate me from my wrongful attraction; can I still be a Christian? If not; what do I do? And if there’s nothing more to do and I’m going to hell anyway; why not just give up on faith and live promiscuously while I still can (that last one is more of a retorical question in my case)..?

There's nuisance to your question, which I like. However, I don't think you meant it, and your inquiry reflects the same one that's always asked. Not a bad thing at all, let it be clear!
I'll answer the nuisance version first: if God does not liberate you, you still fight onward, denying yourself and withstanding any and all matters of temptations. A rare case, however, but could happen which is why I said I liked the question, though I don't think you meant it like this. Take for example the Apostle Paul, as it's written: "And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness ..." (2 Corinthians 12:7-9). This means that, despite having same-sex attraction festering inside, you do not claim them as your identity. You'd need spiritual matury and discernment for this, which is gained as you grow in your relationship with God.

    • @Man.of.God30
      @Man.of.God30 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The question that I think you're asking, which most gay people have, is that God simply does not make the change. Not in the same terms as with the Apsotle Paul - TOTALLY different and INCREDIBLY rare! Rather, there's a lack of belief that He can b/c they simple haven't witnessed it in their life. As stated, lack of faith.
God does clean, liberate and transform. People simply choose to continue satisfying their lustful flame as opposed to present themselves before the Almighty to be cleaned. It's not always a one visit ordeal. The dirtier something is, the harder and longer you take to scrub the sludge off. Even so, God takes His time, so we're not suffering through the process. Spiritually discerned, and we're processed through fire - obviously not physical - in order to be sanctified and it hurts within. Faith sees it fulfilled, but a lot don't have it so are never freed. The Bible is specific that change is not just possible, but true and tangible.
So, to directly answer your question: as with all manners of sins, you seek God, truly, and without stop. Not partially, but fervently. Prayer, reading the Bible, fasting and simply being in His Presence. Homosexuality is not an exclusive, difficult thing to escape from, just that most don't understand the how. The answer remains the same. It's difficult to understand it when the sin itself has deeply infected the soul and altered the mindset, heart and emotions. The truth remains the same, however. And God can liberate. God bless you!
Adding calm music doesn't make this authoritative. Only Paul in the new testatement is critical of homosexuality (who was also critical of women and clearly considered them inferior - not a rational person to follow in such matters). The other references are all old testament and don't refer to homosexuality but effeminate male behaviour, male prostitution etc. Jesus did call out sin. He did not condemn the adulterous woman but told her to sin no more. By comparison when he heals the male lover of the roman centurion (yes the word greek work used was not pais which is the normal term for a servant, but doulos which was a servant that had a relationship with the his master) he made no reference to their relationship being sinful.

In the 1960s, Norman Mailer was howled down by feminists for saying, "a homosexual is a person who PRACTICES homosexuality." Although this was before the word "gay" took hold, the notion that homosexuality was a state of being, not a sexual predilection, was beginning to fester. But Norman, not a Godly man, was right. A homosexual is not what you ARE. It is not a state of being, as you might say of one's gender, race or nationality. If they admitted it was something they DO, something that enters via the heart, then, as with any sinner, they could turn from it.
The word "gay" was coined as a deception, and it has entrapped a lot of homosexuals who actually want to turn away from it. Describing it more accurately will allow discussion, and the asking of the right questions. The use of the word "gay" has enabled people to claim they are "born that way". The use of "homosexual" allows us to discuss it as a preference, and to see the obvious truth that Satan doesn't want us to see: that one cannot be BORN with a sexual preference.
Paul refers specifically to just about every kind of sinner when he says, "Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God".
Paul is making the point that we are not only capable of any sin, but that we harbour them in our hearts. Thus, when he says, "such were some of you: but ye are washed", he says it's only Jesus who stands between us and the act. The only thing that stops us being any of those sinners he listed is that we no longer PRACTICE those sins. Homosexuality is NOT an inescapable state of being, as the word "gay" suggests. It is something that can be repented of, and when we repent, we resolve not to commit the sin again. That is, to PRACTICE the sin. Instead, we tackle it when it enters our heart. To battle against it in our hearts means we will not network our sin. If a man practices ANY sin six days a week, but refrains from it on church day, he is unrepentant, and a loving brother or sister might feel obliged to speak to him about it, not just for his own sake, but for the sake of that church, because sins can become contagious if they are seen to be condoned within its walls.
Whether that sin is habitual murder, or ongoing adultery, one cannot enter the church with the intention of continuing to commit it. Yet the term "gay Christian" suggests a homosexual can do just that. Homosexuals are not exempt from the need to repent. Many of them only pretend they are. It's the very essence of repentance that many "gay" people deny, because they don't want to believe anything they do is a sin, as those murderers and adulterers would. They don't believe they should repent of something that is not wrong; that is merely what they ARE. That gives them a different status from that of their brethren, who are accountable to one-another and God.
I do think preachers or anyone who cares can help their cause by refusing to even use the word "gay". A person who practices homosexuality, even when they go to church, needs help. But first, the problem needs accurate definition, otherwise the solution will miss the mark, and no-one is done any favours.

There's a ridiculous amount of confusion on this topic, but that's what occurs when you don't seek God. If you assume you can be gay and still be a Christian, you're only deceiving yourself. What's the point of that?
Now, in His grace and mercy, you CAN be freed and cleaned, liberated, healed and transformed, but to sin no further nor to continue identifying with the sin. Made anew, your heart washed and your soul sanctified, your emotions corrected and your mind freed. Still, many do NOT want to change. That doesn't justify you, nor is it the truth.

No, you cannot be a Christian and still claim to be gay.
You might be struggling to be freed of it, but you no longer identify with it. As God works in you, if you seek Him, He'll be the One cleaning you. It won't work, for He never forces anyone, if you still cling and hold on to that identity.
The like is if you remain celibate, but remain gay. Truly, what's the point of that? Truly. Though I understand where the idea comes from. However, fornication and homosexuality are two distinct things. Though they commonly overlap, stopping one while continuing the other does not justify your own self before the Lord. This only demonstrates your lack of faith in that God can completely and wholly clean you of ALL sins.
I myself was gay, though this was well over ten years ago when God began to change me and completely free me. There's depth to this topic, in the spiritual sense, which people won't understand until you grow close to God. What I can say is that this sin is an infection of the soul. Nothing on this earth will heal you from it, except the outstretched hand of God. You want change? Truly? Beloved, the answer is extremely simple. Jesus Christ! What do I mean? As I said before, He liberates. Keep seeking Him, fervently, w/o stopping in prayer, reading His Word and fasting, going to Church, attending Bible Study and worship His name in your private quarters. Will He not see you and receive you? Have faith, He will. You are the one to make the first move and you're the one tasked to have faith to see it fulfilled. Note, faith also grows by physically listening to the Word of God (Romans 10:17). It's not an easy road, but it's possible. What is impossible to us, to Him it's incredibly easy. Homosexuality is not unforgivable, but you choose to repent. Likewise, do not be fooled to think it's acceptable before His eyes as it still is and always has been an abomination before Him (Leviticus 20:13). Yet, in His love, He receives us to sanctify us and clean us and once done say: go, and sin no more. As stated below, some of us WERE this, but no longer anymore! Glory to God!
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. When we put our faith in Jesus, we are made RIGHT - regardless of sin (past, present and future). No, the Bible has been clear since the beginning:

Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
"Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie." (Revelation 22:14-15).
There's a difference between being perfect and sinless with fighting and struggling to be better, through Jesus Christ. If there's no will, want and desire to change, what justification does the porn-addict, adulterer, thief, gossiper and the covetous have? "Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance ..." (Luke 3:8). The grace of Jesus Christ is enough, for us to have the opportunity to change, not to remain as pigs in mud. To repent and THEN be forgiven. The same is of the homosexual. Which is why He, Himself, said upon forgiving the adulteress: “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” (John 8:11). God bless you.

Jesus slammed hypocrisy. Read your scripture, and you'll find out what I'm saying is true.

Yet, if you read further and identify what it is, you'll come to realize that homosexuality is the total corruption of the human identity; thus, it's written:
"Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them." (Romans 1:24-32).
So,it goes WAY further than simply being a sinful act. So, no, you cannot be gay and a Christian at the same time.

I know that sex outside of marriage is sin. I deal with many believers that still wrestle with sexual sin. I try to encourage them to confess their sin to God, get up, and brush themselves off, then keep walking. Stay in the word and the word will come out of you. @@ronaldthompson9294 Well, that's actually my complete, full point. With this single verse, I summarize the entire discussion, which your inability to understand confirms it as truth as it is further reflected in your adopted identity. You state to follow Christ, but identify with the antichrist (Daniel 11:37)? Hence, the verse shared above.
Do you assume that cancer is part of the personality of a cancer patient? Or, since you discern not the spiritual, is someone who likes the color blue over pink, seafood over vegan food, part of their personality? Truly, someone's personality is the color blue and seafood? Comical, but such is the same nonsense of homosexuality and your belief on it.
No, you cannot be gay and a Christian. Where's your faith that God can heal? My knowledge of Scripture has no relation to the falsehood you live - I'm merely sharing the gospel. Why do you believe that God cannot change the "impossible," as you coin? Where's your faith?
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6).

Yes, sexual orientation and gender orientation do affect personality. Obviously. If I were a gay man, my personality would be different in significant ways than if I were to suddenly become straight. Again, obviously. The rest are just false comparisons you make and they're just in no way compelling. Obviously some characteristics of humanity affect personality less profoundly than others. Being gay in a world and being in a religion that hates you affects my personality deeply.
And I do have faith in God. I have been an ardent follower, lover, friend of Jesus since I was a kid. I know from my many experiences with his love that I am accepted in Him, as an intended, God-created gay man. You will have to do better than decontextualized bible verses without explanation thrown at me to convince me otherwise. I am a child of God.

@@ronaldthompson9294 I mean no offense, but it's like I'm talking to a brick wall with you, which should NOT be the case with someone who claims to be a "child of God." How is it that you do not understand?
The merry go round which you're on is a direct consequence of your inability to advance and understand deeper. I'm extremely conscious of the way I worded it to you, which AGAIN you confirm as truth. How does this not process in your mind? That's b/c you cannot spiritually discern, which is part of the consequence of the homosexual identity, as it's written: "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;" (Romans 1:28).
Regarding the personality discussion, you need to pick up a psychology book. It's concerning for you to believe what you believe on that subject.
I've already noted previously that the antichrist is the spirit of homosexuality, as the Bible explains (Daniel 11:37), for the enemy stands against EVERYTHING that is of God, including His design for humanity. Thus, I began with a simple statement to correct your false claim and shared the precise verse that summarizes in full: to not sit with demons and the Lord, too. Hypocrisy. In your case, blindly so, though not an excuse or justification. So, I ask: why do you state to be friends with Jesus when identifying with the enemy? Has it not been preached continously: be holy in body, mind and spirit (1 Peter 1:13-16)? God never created homosexuality; from where do you assume that conclusion? On the contrary, prior to the Messiah, in His Law, gays were stoned to death, for it is an abomination before His eyes (Leviticus 20:13). He ordered the total destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:1-29). Likewise, He nearly wiped out one of the twelve tribes of His chosen people, Israel, for having succumb to that sin - the tribe of Benjamin (Judges 19:1-30, 20:1-48). So, if it were true that He made gays, why would He create do destroy? Would He give life to condemn? Additionally, would He form against His own design? Furthermore, why would the one who goes against God, take this form as he identifies with everything NOT of God (Daniel 11:30)?
If you are a child of God, you're not just drowning, you're suffocating. I've chatted with atheist homosexuals with more clarity. How so? Since you have hope, as a child of God, the devil will ensnare you deeper, so you can never see or even understand the prison that you're in. Those who don't believe in God, don't have a key to escape. However, if it's true that you have Jesus Christ in your life, you have the key, but will never use it as is. Sir, that doesn't save you. God has made it clear that homosexuals do NOT enter Heaven (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Thus, it's also written: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. ..." (Hosea 4:6). How can you say you have faith and have ardently followed Christ, while still imprisoned in sin? That is not something to boast about. Still, you want me to try harder to convince you? How's that my issue? Free will. Still, b/c I am a Christian, whom was actually once a homosexual, I do sympathize and understand your condition, fully. And, in His love and grace, I shared the above, so you can read. He is love, I'm merely one of His many children. Thus, because He is love (1 John 4:7-8), homosexuality is NOT of His. Quit clinging to the enemy and expect salvation, stop courting death and believing your inheritance is life. That belief is called confusion, and it's ridiculous for you to have it and still claim to be a "child of God." I hope that gives you some much needed insight, but I know not everyone is willing to face the truth and proceed to truly come into the light and present themselves to the Almighty (John 3:19-20). Stop living an illusion, read the His Word, the Bible. God bless you.
