Big design issue with this laptop. When you open the screen, it closes the heat vents at the back of the laptop. Also starts overheating, runs into 100 deg cel and shutdown randomly.
So this laptop came in 2020 and it was great that it has an 11th Generation precessor too? But the specs seemed outdated. Ethernet and no type c usb? Why?

I got this laptop for around 600 if converted to US dollars. It has an i3 1125g4 which thankfully has 2 more cores than the 1115g4 and a 240gb m.2 ssd. Screen is nice enough and not sure about battery since I always plug it in. Upgradability is a HUGE plus in this laptop (2.5 SATA bay with screws, 2 memory slots, and the m.2 ssd can be changed). I'm also pretty happy with the performance (coming from the person who upgraded from 4th gen i3) and even though it has 4gb of memory, it does things that I need. I'm also planning to upgrade to 8gb or 16gb if I have more budget. My complaints about this laptop is that the -headphone jack doesn't detect my earphones but works on my other headphones- (check UPDATE**). Another one is that the ram speed the system shows is 2666 yet the ram included has 3200 and I cant find xmp settings which sucks since I could squeeze some more juice from the integrated graphics. Also the lack of USB C really sucks since I have to carry the included charger though it is optional in this device. Overall a great device and would still use for the rest of my college. Hello Sir, I bought this Dell Inspiron 3501 notebook couple days ago, it's configurations are i3 1115G4, 4GB ram and 1TB HDD. By the way thanks for your video guides for this device. So after testing the device past few days, every thing is fine and works. This particular model has Cirrus Logic CS8409 Audio Controller, unlike Realtek Audio Controller this controller doesn't have a dedicated Audio Manager software so it's not showing any pop-up window asking what device you plugged in when I plugged the headset. Many online threads says The Waves Maxxaudio Pro software is need to install on Dell laptops to detect headset which shows the pop-up when connected, but it doesn't work on this one because it is associated with Realtek Audio Controller. I Updated all the drivers to the latest, tried enable-disable audio controller while headset plugged in, update the driver to Microsoft's default, use Dell SupportAssist and so on but nothing works so far. I have doubt whether this is related to CTIA or OMTP standards which are the two types of TRRS Plug. So when a device is plugged-in to the 3.5mm port the Controller cannot switch between two modes in Windows because there's no dedicated software for Cirrus Logic like in Realtek. The product brochure mentioned that Inspiron 3501 comes with Realtek or Cirrus Logic Audio Controller but there's no way to confirm which I have, until I unboxed and turned on the Laptop. I got this in November, except I got it before they nerfed the deal very slightly. Originally with the 16% coupon (I assume you used as well) I think it came to £389 but for the first couple of days before anyone knew about it it came with the backlit keyboard as well! Two days after I ordered, it was still the same price and model but without the backlit keyboard anymore. Just out of curiosity, does yours have a Russian sticker I can't quite make it out in the video? It was the UK version that came, from the UK site, paid for with a UK card from a UK address and delivered to that same address. Just had a Russian sticker on mine for some bizarre reason. It's not like it was Russian stock or anything being used (which would be fine, it is all the same thing as long as it comes with the right OS, keyboard layout, and power supply), but it was built in China upon ordering. Edit: Forgot to ask, do you notice ghosting while moving the cursor? I was surprised how much I noticed it, it doesn't seem as bad for video/games. Apparently it is a VA panel not a TN panel as fas as I can tell.
Both my Inspiron 14 5406 and 15 3501 came with Russian stickers on the palmrest - it did actually say they would when ordering the machine and there was the option to have a UK sticker in the customisation section, but it pushed back the delivery date so I didn't change it. Not noticed ghosting, but I haven't used the system extensively as I only bought it to do some testing with and then sell on.

The 3502 is a lot lower specification - I'm guessing that is the Celeron N4020 with 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD? Personally I wouldn't recommend it - the N4020 is painfully slow. My be worth looking at some of the options in Dell Outlet, as they've not got any great deals on at Dell.co.uk currently.

sounds better than a smartphone atleast. Has a tiny bit of bass, ample mid range, low on treble. Overall dialogues and speech in movies/videos will sound good. I'll give it pass on music playback as well. It does not get very loud, but it does not also distort on max volume. Just a good pair of inbuilt stereo system.

Does this model not support NVMe? Some of website said it includes NMVe, but some of just says M.2
NVMe is a type of M.2 drive. It came fitted with an M.2 2242 NVMe type SSD, but can also take the longer 2280 sized drives. SATA M.2 drives may work, I didn't test them.

I have to choose between Dell Inspiron 15 3501, Acer Aspire 3 A315-41 and HP ProBook 455R G6. What's the smartest choice?
Dell Inspiron is the smartest choice.
Dell Inspiron
How can have dual monitors without using any of the USB ports?
There’s only one hdmi.
I need keyboard lights in dell Inspiron 3501
You'd have to buy and fit a palmrest/keyboard with the backlight included. Probably not worth it as they are expensive.
How to turn on keyboard lights
It doesn't come with one, at least on the models sold here in the UK.
Which wifi module is with it same model
Intel or realtek or atheros
I did not like the quality of plastic. Gets smeared easily and very prone to smudges and whatever contamination you have on your hands. Still a very good laptop.
is this have backlight?
On the keyboard? No.
Grabbed this open box from Best Buy at half the price you paid and it’s a much better value
Can this connect to any docking station?
Does it have keyboard backlit?
Not here in the UK - it may in other regions as the option for a backlight is listed in the specs and there is a connector for it on the mainboard.

I am looking at the DELL Inspiron 15 3502 15.6" Laptop today @ £279.... UK is the above review pretty much applicable to the 3502? I will be using for work which is downloading and then using programmes from trade partners and funding partners, will I need to move from 10 S to 10?
The 3502 is a lot lower specification - I'm guessing that is the Celeron N4020 with 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD?
Personally I wouldn't recommend it - the N4020 is painfully slow.
My be worth looking at some of the options in Dell Outlet, as they've not got any great deals on at Dell.co.uk currently.

The 5405 supports faster DDR4-3200 RAM, the 3501 only supports DDR4-2666 (unless it has an NVIDIA graphics card in which case it gets 3200 support and USB-C).

@@michaeltsang548 Well the question was pretty broad! By games do you mean Solitare, or GTA V? Just about any machine will play "some low games", but the statement still stands - as tested with integrated Intel UHD graphics and 4GB DDR4-2666 in a single channel configuration its going to be a poor choice if your primary usage is gaming.

Can you tell me in the dell inspiron 15 3593 i3 10th gen laptop
Is the m2 port is pcie x2 or x4 length
Also can you upload a video of that laptop showing the ssd benchmarks... Pls.. :(
The length doesn't dictate the PCIe lanes - it can take either M.2 2230 (30mm length) or M.2 2280 (80mm length) drives.
The slot is keyed for PCIe 4x Gen 3 devices, but I didn't test a 4x device or run any benchmarks - I no longer have the laptop (I only kept it a couple weeks to make videos) so can't help with this.
