Great step by step video! I followed it to get the old screen out, so I could make sure I ordered the correct replacement. Watched the video again to refresh my memory before I installed the new screen. Everything works perfectly! Thank you for posting this video!!!
Wow, I'm a technician now! It worked! One tip though: set the screw for the wireless card separate from the others, it is smaller. Thanks so much for the instructions!
I am buying this screen but thare few options regarding screen with different pin numbers. Could you please tell me, how much pins (connector plug pins) it have? 30 pins or 40 pins?
Fantastic video, thank you! I need to replace the screen on a 3510, I assume this is pretty similar? What's a good replacement screen that you would recommend?
Hi, I've carried out the replacement as the video instructs, however now my laptop won't switch on, the on light switches on momentarily then the fan cycles on before switching off
It probably means that the display isn't properly connected. The laptop 'thinks' the display is displaying, so it carries on with the startup while the screen stays blank. On my model, the caps lock light comes on before the display, then switches off once the display is on.
The replacement process should be similar, but may be a different display panel as the 3510/3511 have thinner bezels than the 3501, particularly at the bottom.
Hey buddy i need a bit of advice i have bought the acer aspire 3 a315-58 it has yellowish display which i dont like at all i was thinking if i can replace that display with this dell's display is that possible to do
If the screen is shattered then I'd just cover it in tape and lever it up with a pry tool. You'll destroy the panel, but if its already broken it doesn't matter too much. The tape stops any splinters coming out.
Thank you. But is it absolutely necessary to separate the screen part and the keyboard part ? Because with the inspiron 15 3505 I can remove the screen directely. Thank you for your answer. Michael
I would very much recommend it - you want to pull the adhesive strips out as flat and level as possible - if you don't remove the top assembly then its very hard to get them out without splitting them. Not TOO much of an issue if you already have a broken screen and don't mind shattering it further trying to get it off the adhesive, but I was filming this with a brand new laptop in perfect condition so not worth the risk!
Great video, I have the touch screen model. Everything works great but the touch screen… uRR gonna have to notify the company I purchase the screen from but I so thankful for your video as I watched several before starting and yours was the BEST!!! Also I didn’t have double sided table to I used glue dots and they worked fantastic, and those darn strips to remove tape didn’t work like yours so i had to slide razor behind it to separate as I really didn’t want to warp the bars since they have to go on new screen.
A tad trickier than the average laptop screen replacement. Nothing too difficult though. Thank you for the video. This video works for Inspiron 15 3511 also.
Yeah the move to adhesive to hold the display does make things trickier, but not too bad. Similar process for the 3511 like you say, and many other Dell models like the 5510, etc.
The screen is held in with adhesive, not screws, which you have to pull out the base of the panel which is very difficult if the machine is fully assembled still. Its also much easier to remove the bezel with the screen removed from the base of the laptop. The time you saved by not removing the screen would probably all be wasted in the time spent trying to get the screen off when the pull strip for the adhesive breaks because you're pulling it from too steep an angle.
It takes relatively little effort to remove the lid. With the adhesive strips you want to pull them out as close to flat as possible to minimise the risk of them breaking underneath the panel - if you're pulling them upwards then they are much more likely to break. Ultimately if they break and your screen is already shattered its not the end of the world - you can cover it in tape and pry it up and just accept that it's going to completely destroy the panel before you fit a replacement. I was recording this with a brand new, fully functional, laptop I didn't want to destroy a £80 part on and so did it properly - same applies if you had a faulty eDP cable and functional screen.
If you want to watch someone bodge it rather than spending an extra 5 minutes removing the top panel then be my guest. I'll keep doing things properly.
Because I removed the screen from the chassis? Not entirely necessary, but not actually that difficult to do and with the glued in screen makes it easier to remove and particularly makes lining things up a lot easier, and as per the Dell service manual.
I came here to see which brand's display is used cause I didn't like the display of this newly bought laptop. It is even worse than my previous Dell inspiron 5599 720P panel., brightness is way dimmer and yellowish colour.... Dell should have gone with Samsung's panel like on previous, this new Boe panel sucks, so frustrating while trying to read on screen even with white and black background, giving me strain on eyes...
thanks so much. followed the video step by step and saved myself possibly hundreds of dollars by replacing my own screen. you're awesome dude!!
Glad it helped!

I just replaced my sons cracked monitor, and this video is the one that helped me do that. Thank you for taking your time to make it, kudos!

Great tutorial! Would you happen to have any recommendations on where to purchase computer parts ?
Glad it helped! Depends where you are really - I'm based in the UK so only really know local retailers.
I appreciate the help
I found this very helpful even though it wasn't on my exact model. Thank you a bunch. I just hope I ordered the right screen replacement now haha.

Hello! Please, could tell if a pinked screen need to be replaced?
What is the price of original display ?
Thanks mate, subscribed, the only channel which has indepth info about this laptop

Hello, do you know what the screen reference is and how many pins it has?
What is the price of this screen.
Will it accept a 4K display?
If you can find a compatible panel - Dell don't list any however and I'm not aware of any.
Why does it say "don't touch" at the bottom of the screen? (I don't think yours does)
This video was brilliant! Excellent instructions.. Thank you very much! You have saved me alot of money! X
Hey do you by any chance have a link to buy the lcd pannel for the laptop
Glad it was helpful!
what is the tape called, also can it be removed if the screen gets damage again
I just use 3M double sided adhesive. Yes you could remove it again after by getting a pry tool in underneath it.
I'm currently trying to locate a FHD touch screen for that exact laptop. Do you know how I can I get a hold of one?
www.accupart.co.uk/products/dell-inspiron-3501-15-6-ips-1920x-1080-laptop-screen-dp-n-0n39x1
What is that white area behind the laptop screen ?
Its just the coating on the back of the screen.
Is it 30 pin video connector or 40 pin ?
30
@@loumingacci6064Idk, cuz I opened the bottom, and the video seemed to be 40 instead, despite not being touchscreen

How much cost sir please original one
Isn't it enough to just remove the bezel frame? To access the LCD panel screws? Like it was in another video.
I thought the same!

Search for part: 0N39X1
whats the modle number
Nice and to the point

Nice video!
Thanks!
You don't have to do any of this. Just remove the bezel and replace the screen. The battery thing is a good precaution but not absolutely required.
I'm rather stunned that you would tear down the chassis as opposed to others who just popped the top off.
It takes relatively little effort to remove the lid.
With the adhesive strips you want to pull them out as close to flat as possible to minimise the risk of them breaking underneath the panel - if you're pulling them upwards then they are much more likely to break.

@@BrueComputing Point taken.
Thanks!!!
No problem!
Why would you have to remove the whole backing?
You did extra steps that didn't need to be done...
Derp..
Because without removing the lid from the base you can't pull the adhesive strip at a shallow enough angle and it'll likely break.
