Binding Three Quilts. Agnes's hexagon quilt is finally FINISHED!

- It is a very satisfying thing indeed to finish a project - even more so to finish three! I thought you might enjoy having an update as I finish the bindings on the Indian Stripe Blanket, which is going to be a picnic blanket for the garden, the Seed Packet Quilt which just needs a label now and finally, the last bit of binding on Agnes's Quilt - 3 and a half years in the making and on her bed at Grandmas at last! Time for a new hand pieced project then, so I'm going to carry on working on The Plus Quilt.

Even during times of ill health you have extended love to us all by way of your creativity, patience and inspiration. It’s time now to care for yourself. It’s a small world isn’t it? I’m teaching my granddaughter crafting, she’s 4 years old and very keen so I always think it’s wonderful to have hobbies such as sewing and paper craft, especially on long winter nights where you can snuggle up together and make things. Agnes' bedroom is lovely. I have a special bedroom in my house for my granddaughter and have wonderful memories of spending time with my grandmother. What a special bond grandmothers and granddaughters have. Thank you for sharing your life with us, take care of yourself we'll be here waiting to pop on the lime green sofa whenever you invite us.

Kate, as a moderator myself on a different platform, I totally understand the need to take care of oneself. I applaud your decisions to do so. Your health is the most important thing, I don't think people really understand how much work goes into making a videos, it is lovely to see you taking time for yourself.

If I was a young child Agnes’s age, I would look forward immensely to my visits with Grandma Kate and sleeping in a room, designed for me, under a wonderful quilt made with love. What lovely memories will be in the making for her!❤
I was thinking that, too; I did not have a room just for myself because there were five of us grandchildren (later six) but sleeping in "Mum's room" (my great-grandma's room, once upon a time, before I was born) and having a towel waiting in the bathroom for me (still a thing today!) had the same sort of special quality to it.

Kate~. I have watched you since the beginning! The distance you have come with your unique videos has been amazing. Finding just the right name for your program. Including your family, your fur babies ( cats ) sharing ILEAN your goose, the chickens, friends that help you and that you help is what makes the world a better place. Thank you is hardly adequate yet it is all l can say. The Christmas boxes , oh John helping with the boxes was priceless, cleaning house sorting and sharing. Anna coming on board, amazing! The shared recipes, the birthday parties. You have allowed us into your family like no other. What a blessing you have given us. Sharing your love of puzzles especially Harry Potter! When you read to us l could listen for hours. I am selfish, l would rather have you every two weeks than not at all. I am so thankful you are putting your needs, which very much includes time with Agnes, in perspective. If you don’t take of you and your other interests, we will have no you. So THANK YOU for everything you have given us and look forward to what is to come. Cherish your time with Agnes, put her first before us, build a bond with her that only time together can accomplish. You are TRULY a very special person and l consider it a true gift to have watched you each week over the years. Now it is equally special, as you are doing what you must to keep on giving. I love returning to old videos by my favourite crafty TH-camrs while knitting or doing other crafts. You don't have to watch as much since you're already familiar with it, you can just listen, and it makes for perfect motivational background.

So very beautiful! It is something she will cherish forever. My husband still has the quilt his grandmother made for him when he was a child he is in his 40s!
She also made him a wedding blanket I also cherish it even though I never got to meet her 💜
I have a crochet blanket my Grandmother made for me and I snuggle it extra when I am missing her. She is the one who taught me how to sew & crochet ❤

Kate, you are an absolute treasure. Agnes is a lucky girl to have a beautiful handmade quilt from her wonderful grandmother. (I just lost my only 2 hand stitched quilts from my grandmother in a fire.) I applaud your decision to post videos every 2 weeks. I don't post instructional videos due to the time it takes to edit. You’re so fortunate to have your 2 DILS on either side of you supporting your work and making it possible for you to keep it going. Hello from rural Minnesota, USA. You inspire me. I am 79 years young with a stroke that has left my left side less than well. I continue playing with threads and fuzz. Sitting at my sewing machine is great occupational and physical therapy. How could I not want to get up, dressed and tackling what I have on plate when I watch one of your videos, even if some are quite old. Thanks again.

Ohhh Kate, Agnes’s quilt is absolutely exquisite!! You must be so proud of it. I just know that one day when she’s a little older she will fully understand the love that went into making it. As for your posts being fortnightly now, about time - about time you thought about yourself first. As I’ve watched all these videos from the start and seen the numbers grow I was beginning to wonder how on earth you were coping with it all. There is absolutely no good reason for you to keep going at the rate you were if it’s going to stress you out to the point of damaging your health! You bring so much joy to so many people around the world that you “share your life” with, and the best way you can do that is to look after yourself. I’m nearly caught up to present day and looking forward to seeing what’s been happening over the last few months. 💕

A quilt is truly a gift of love and surely Agnes will feel your love each time she snuggles under her quilt. My 12 year old grandson and I just completed a Mine Craft themed quilt for him. We designed the blocks together, he chose all the fabrics from my stash. Oz did a great deal of the piecing using my 1936 Singer Featherweight machine that belonged to his great grandmother. I machine quilted most of the quilt but I added a hand quilted heart as a reminder of how much I love him.
Like everyone on the LGS, I'm awed by Agnes's quilt. Beautifully and lovingly made. I'm so glad that you've shared creating it with me!
