Biggest problem is compared to a Hurricane in the South of Usa here in Canada we only have 2-3 month before winter to repair.
And 2-3 months is pushing it .
More like 1-2 months before everything frosts over. Last year it started to snow in mid to late October
Yeah and a smaller workforce in a more widespread area
We will simply make do.
Canadians aren't pushovers. It will be done.
Stay safe and look out for each other out there. 💪 ❤️
My heart goes out to my fellow Canadians in Atlantic Canada hit by hurricane Fiona, this is devastating.
As an Albertan, I was in NB for a year, and learned the power of hurricane from the Atlantic ocean.
Oh boy … I’ve been so preoccupied with my work I haven’t seen all this … sending prayers and thoughts. Be safe everybody.
prayers don't work
@@kotexconnection3804 what a shame you don’t believe prayer doesn’t work - you are missing out on true love.
I live in Bridgwater NS and thankfully I still have power 😅
Stay safe!🙏
I just got mine back on in Dartmouth. Very grateful we were not close to the center of this storm.
just got ours back on in pictou.
That was Port aux Basque Newfoundland
Yes! It is part of atlantic Canada
Itll be newlostland now
@@willpower3791 yes but they were referring to Nova Scotia the whole video but showing the most devastating scenes which were in Newfoundland.
Typical of Canadian news.

Thinking about my brothers and sisters in Atlantic Canada.
Politics dont matter in a time like this. Screw the small minded division. Stay safe out there
Why do you talk about politics in a post like this? This has nothing to do with politics, it s a natural disaster. It's Canada, we help eachother
This is Justin Trudeau’s fault.
Nobody is talking about politics. Stop being weird.
Many prayers and blessings from Chardon Ohio 🇺🇲❤️🇨🇦🥺 just so tragic to see!
Stay safe, everyone!
Much love and concern for the residents of Nova Scotia.
A little inaccurate said Nova Scotia but most of the video was Newfoundland.
Really?
I heard the reporter mention Sydney (NS) several times
@@birgip.m.1236 yes he mentions Sydney over and over but the videos where you are seeing the most damage were filmed in port aux basque Newfoundland where peoples houses were swept out to sea during this storm
The traffic light down at 0:42 is in downtown Charlottetown
Why does the voiceover at the beginning say Nova Scotia when ALL the images are from Newfoundland? We in NS did not have that kind of damage…
Prayer and blessings to my fellow Canadian brothers and sisters! This too shall pass and all will be restored!
God's prayers for you all from NC USA. ✝️🙏👑❤️❤️

Lived here by the ocean my entire life; I've seen some monster storms, this is the most ferocious in my memory.
I grew up in a little town just like that one. Kind of scary.
So Alberta had really terrible wildfires, BC had a giant costly flood, and now NB and other Eastern Provinces are suffering from hurricanes. What's next on the docket?
We must not be paying enough, in taxes
@@xj4m35x2 Yes!
and this is only the beginning
Increasing volatility. Our climate models predicted all of this as we continue using fossil fuels, decades ago.
Ontario got clapped with some of the most brutal storms we’ve ever experienced. Not nearly to the scale of BC AB or NS, but on a long enough timeline well all lose something to climate change
The one time the word "slams" is properly used in a news report title.
Bubbles shed and kitties are OK? We hope.
Chris maybe tell the viewers that the 20+homes lost & a woman swept away by the ocean. Catastrophic images shown are in areas of Port Aux Basque, Newfoundland. NS Fallen trees yeah it happens in all wind storms

Oh no :( I am so sorry that is so awful
We once had a tornado this year in Vancouver BC Canada and rainfalls in march 2022
Which caused a flood in Richmond

was there no evacuation alert or order
Yes there was. It's called a Weather Forecast.
I'm not anywhere near the coast and I knew it was coming
Evacuate all of eastern Canada. Lol
Certain areas were told to evacuate. It hit northern N.S. , PEI and southern Newfoundland hard the rest of use had minor damage in comparison but still had trees down and house damage. And loss of power. I. Personally had a lot of damage from Hurricane Juan and glad it didn't hit as close to my home this time. My prayers are with areas that got struck hardest.

I bet nobodies laughing at preppers now
Stock piling supplies at home doesn’t matter if you’re house is swept out to sea.
Rural newfies are as close as you get to a society of preppers. We always have tons of canned food, clothing for extreme weather, etc. It wouldn’t matter if these guys were preppers, their houses would be destroyed either way.

Go see what happened in Newfoundland. This is a joke in comparison
Honestly these homes are built like crap. Down here we only build homes near the ocean with block or concrete.
@@curmudgeonaf not everyone with waterfront here is a millionaire. I assure you. I think 1 concrete block costs a dollar something. (Probably more now with inflation) but it’s really not much of a cost difference. A fully poured concrete house may cost more due to labor but block no.

Or electric fuel pumps to fill up their gas vehicles.
You only get one tank of gas in a storm like this too.
How irrelevant
Electricity will have to be restored before anyone can get gas genius
Yep, and in particular roof top solar on commercial buildings could be restored in hours to charge vehicles with. Gas could be down for days waiting for the grid to come back unless the has station is also solar powered.
