- Day Two: I Love October Cold Fronts
With a series of cold fronts in October, I couldn't wait to get to the stand. I did another hang and hunt in a cool area I hadn't hunted before, and the deer movement was sky high the entire evening!

My stars son what a blessing. Lotsa venison in those woods and fields. Nice set up. Beautiful buck(s). I wouldn't have left that stand without freezer filler. A nice mature doe for sure. Lord bless. Stay safe. Happy hunting to you and all the hunting family out there.
Good looking Buck Jared! and nice setup!
Thanks man!
Hard to beat a sit like that.
No doubt!
Whatever makes me happy about how the hunt unfolded.
Good luck this year Jared, looking forward to the content!
Thanks man, good luck to you too!
Once again absolutely ecstatic with your vids with zero music or background music. Just the natural noise gets us amped up. Great sit Jared As far as content you and Jordan and Bill Winke are putting out the best 👍 Thanks for sharing
Same, could watch this content all day
Thanks Shane, glad you like that style. I appreciate you watching as always!
What's up Jared, hope you and the family are doing well. Looking forward to a exciting fall. Good luck and thanks for bringing us along
Hey man, same to you! Hope you all are well!
This is by far the best white tail channel on TH-cam, I could watch this content all day
Appreciate that Z B!
I thought the first nice buck looked 4 yo and the second looked 3 yo to me. Is that about what your thoughts on age are also?
Don't know why them boys were play-fighting. Appears to be enough girls to go around for all of 'em...lol.
Haha. Sure seemed like it!
They’re setting up their hierarchy in the herd.
@@Farmersforever1993 I know. It was a joke...lol. Nice bass btw.
Wow… what a perfect night for watching all the deer, I would have loved being out there. Excellent job capturing them, such awesome video to watch👏👏👏 Always so proud of you ❤
Another great Jared Mills video. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. I have one, unrelated question: What brand and model of electric scooter did you use in this episode? Would you recommend it to other deer hunters like me? Thanks, Chris
it would be really fun to watch that palmated buck grow for the next 4-5 years and document the changes he has
Yes that would be sweet!
How do you exit your stand without spooking deer?
It's always tough. I think more often than not, I wait until well after dark. It seems like the deer tend to relax a little bit after dark and you can get away with a little bit more.
No camera man this year either!?
Im so jealous you get to pass bucks of that caliber. 🦌
Plan on any out-of-state hunts this fall?
As of now, no. I enjoy hunting by myself. I have people that can film so if I get to the point where I think I need it, I can go that route, but for now I'm going to self film. I may go up to Minnesota here shortly!
@@jaredmills se mn?
@@Jay-hu1pcYes sir!
@@jaredmills hope you film that I hunt in se mn be interesting to watch
Nice video! What kind of lens are you using? The zoom ability is perfect for what I’m looking for.
I've been using a 70-300 for a lot of these hunts, like you said, it's a pretty solid range.
Jared your stuff is top top I’ve been a fan for a long time. My question is a little different to you…why even hunt a spot if there’s not a target buck there ?
The video is awesome to watch but I would think you’d only hunt where there’s a shooter to maximize your time. Really respect how you hunt, you’re one of the few class acts in the industry 👍
Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words. It's a good question. First, I do have a couple bucks on that piece that I would consider shooting age wise, I just want to see them in person to make that final decision. So I was hoping to lay eyes on them on this hunt. But to your point, not every hunt I go on is where a target buck lives. If I don't think the timing is right, or the weather isn't right, I'm not going to go in after him. But I'm also not going to just stay at home. Like most of us, I enjoy just being in a tree and watching and learning from the deer, so I'll go sit somewhere that won't mess up a target buck spot. In this hunt, it was cool to see a good buck and start some history with a potential target for next year. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for the support!
Hey bud for future use the first buck that came out should be named Jack (his horns popped straight up like a "Jack in the box")
I like it!
Jared my man you need to oil/grease that thing you’re riding!!
I noticed that when I was editing it too but not really in the field. I added a little grease to the front shocks. I use it non-stop and it lives in the bed of my truck for the most part, so I'm guessing it's just dirt and dust from the roads. And it's one of the very first models that they had, more like a prototype. The new models have some pretty sweet improvements, but regardless I love that thing and use it every day.
Ya thanks for no back ground music or rock concerts. Good video, mate!
Thanks for watching!
Great footage loved the slo-mo. Wonder what the tumor is on that four year old. Any idea Jared?
Awesome video, Jared. Cool to still follow you! Do you think you'll ever have a cross over and appear on Bill and Jordan's show on Bowhunting Whitetails? Would be epic!
Possibly at some point we'll get together. I actually met up with him for a bit last night but it wasn't for a video or anything. Schedules are always the toughest part!
Good stuff! Jared, what type of camera are you filming with
Thanks! Sony a7siii. If you want to, check out the video I did a few weeks back where I cover the different filming gear, I talk about it some more there. Thanks for watching!
@@jaredmillsFor sure! I don't see how I missed it. Thanks for the feedback.
Anyone know what the food is? Looks like they love it, they are hammering it
Hmm the E-cart is awfully squeaky…

What’s the name of the cart? I like the looks of it
Future dandies
Very promising future there Jared. I had the shooter show today so they’re expanding ranges. Can’t wait to see some new bucks pop up for you.
Awesome man. Same here, the series of cold front we had along with the timing of the year has resulted in a number of new bucks. Good luck!
Do you hate hunting pines as much as me? Getting your equipment all sticky is the worst. Good luck this season!
Haha. I have a love hate relationship with em for sure. I love the cover, and they're always nice and straight for hanging stands in. But they can be messy for sure, and can sometimes have too much cover that you have to cut a lot or give up visibility. Good luck to you too!
High quality images and camera work. Where im from even the maples have acorns this year. Soon time to buckle up. Best regards to you and yours.
Thanks man, good luck out there!
Always admired your calm composure and dedication… good luck Jared! I’ll always follow your stuff! 🦌
I appreciate you following man!
What was that flash?
I was wondering the same thing, saw it twice.
Good catch. That was my trail camera. That will be a cool series of photos next time I go pull that card!
Couple good bucks there at the end but who needs a lawnmower when you have that many does and fawns out there keeping the greens trimmed up. Be safe out there.
No doubt. I was even surprised by the number of them using that spot. Thanks for watching
I could watch your vids all day Jared! Always learn a thing or two from them, thanks man!
Appreciate you watching and following!
Awesome video. Quick question what camera do you use? Awesome quality!!
Thanks man. On this hunt I am using a Sony a7siii. I made a video a few weeks back talking about more of the gear if you're interested. Thanks for watching!
Sounds like you're alongside Highway
Great footage!! Best of luck this year Jared!
It is definitely nice to be in Iowa. Those deer wouldn't last 2 days up here in Northeastern Michigan. Great first sit and I'm looking forward to this years hunting season. I have maybe two bucks that might gross 140. But most of our big bucks up here are around 110 to 120. Nothing will beat that buck you shot with the guile suit on off of that hill what a hunt that was. Good luck Jared and I look forward to watching more hunts from you.
Thanks Robert, appreciate you following. And yes, I hear ya, everything is relative. Very fortunate to be in Iowa. I'm traveling to MN to bow hunt here soon and I won't have the same standards as here in IA, but it will still be a fun hunt and a challenge to get on certain deer.
@jaredmills I love the challenge even though my deer only get to maybe 140 I love it. I just got done checking cameras and replacing sd cards and put 4 miles on my feet. The weather is perfect. I'm hoping to kill a doe tonight. Good luck in MN. I look forward to watching.
Great looking buck, and video.
Exciting sit, I love moments like these. The little palmated buck will be neat to see grow. The last two bucks look super similar, they look to have short g3s on opposite sides of their racks, 4yo’s ?
Good catch. I was even confusing them earlier in the summer they're so similar. If I had to guess though, I think one is 3.5 and one is 4.5.
@@jaredmills what would you say gives them that tell between 3.5 -4.5, larger body? Saggier stomach, bigger brisket?
What a hunt! 2 questions you may have answered before, what broadhead are you using, and is that a garmin sight you’re using. Thanks and thanks for the great content
Sheesh if I would’ve just looked atone of your previous videos. My bad 🤦♂️
Haha, no worries! Thanks for watching
What camo are you wearing this year?
Bro...that camera is awesome!!! Jared's the GOAT at self filming
Thanks man. Yeah I love the footage that setup produces!
@@jaredmills you can count the eye lashes on deer with that camera lol what is it?
How high up do you get in a tree?
I love that little buggy. I need something like that
It's pretty sweet, I use it non-stop for whatever I'm doing on the farms. It pretty much lives in the bed of my truck!
That was epic!
Great video, thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for watching!
Great video Jared ! Hope all is well !!
Thanks man, same to you!
Great stuff ... good luck!
Thanks man, you too!
Love these videos! Is that little electric cart worth it?
Thanks man. 1000%. I use it non-stop, and have been for the last 7-8 months. I've even pulled a mower with it to mow my secluded clover plots. The thing is awesome. If you have more questions just let me know. I may do a video on it at some point too if there's enough interest.
Seemed kinda loud/squeaky. Were you polling something?
I’m interested. Love the content!
What brand is that electric cart?
very cool!!! 😁
