The cabin episodes are always my favorite because of the biodiversity. The fishing mixed with the hunting on public lands without fences or borders makes it really special.
I live abroad now and haven’t been able to go home for buck camp in the north woods for like 5 years now. Watching new meat eater shows keeps me centered. It’s like a little slice of those experiences you get in the woods.
I bought steves cook book. Went on my first hunt last year and got a doe. Thank you Steve for inspiring me to go out into nature, harvest my own meat and work with conservation.
Lol you people don’t understand how this channel works, Steve is in every meateater episode, but not every video uploaded to this channel is a meateater episode
I'm a fan of pretty much everything Meat Eater puts out, but this was one of the more entertaining episodes in memory. Good friends hanging out in an incredible place, doing pretty wild stuff...hard to beat.
No matter how many South East Alaska videos I see, I’ll never stop being so excited and surprised by the fact that his house is in the same cove at Sportsman’s Cove lodge where I worked. Love it up there!
He totally does. Surprised no one else is talking about it. Notice have right when it moves the shot changes. Probably wanted to hid the fact that no one checked to see if it was actually dead before standing and talking next to it. 😂
I've been itching to see this for weeks after hearing you folks talking about the "wetsuit hunt" on the podcast (although as a guy who spends a lot of time in wetsuits, it is the "boogie board hunt" to me. Kudos to Arkansas ingenuity in an unfamiliar land. Even after the build-up, this episode did not disappoint. Kudos.
On a fabulous rainy day in Utah seems like a excellent time to watch a episode in southeast rainy Alaska. Man, I wanna go get a bear in Alaska. The bow float was exactly what i was picturing in my head months ago when they talked about it on the podcast.
Love these shows! Clay and the bear episodes are my favorites. I also love the Alaska episodes. Seems so much like being invited into a family hunting camp. They always make you feel welcome and show some of the best their land has to offer! Love it guys. Keep it up!
As an amateur/beginner hunter with chronic physical limitations that often keep me on the sidelines, I live vicariously through this show and watch them over and over. Thank you to the MeatEater crew for all of your efforts, hunts, educational content, and conservation activities! A dream of mine is to join in on some of the experiences. Would love to see much more in the Southeast states. Particularly in Florida! :)
damn bro I hope your condition doesn't hinder you too much, if you are in edmonton canada I would take you hunting for sure, one thing i can guarantee is we will prob come back empty handed lol.
I love the hunting in the show but I think the part that sells it for me is how relatable of a guy Steve is. He just seems like a guy I could sit down and have a deer steak and a glass of whiskey with. Loving this season also!
That jigging lesson! Like Deja vu… fishing sea cucumber in se in the winter, I’ve been that guy laughing at my buddies losing fish and snagging bottom, using that same ‘unique’ jig stroke. Love it!
If this is episode 1, Holley fk I can not wait for the rest of the episodes. Steve you are by far one of the most entertaining gentleman I have had the pleasure of watching.. not never fail in putting a smile on my face.. Well done to Rendell, and a even bigger well done to Clay.. Clay you come a close second to Steve in the entertainment.. Cheers gentleman.. Itching for the second installment already...🦌🐐🦆🐗✌
“That’s a wetsuit beer if ever I saw one” every time Steve sees a beer 😅😅😅 reminds me of fishing “yep that’s a keeper” to every fish hahaha Pepper that you can use as a windicator 😂😂 32:08
Well done on the hunt Clay. This was an amazing episode that I've been waiting for ever since the story on the Meateater Podcast. Whenever I look at my Rob Allen Rock Camo Wetsuit I'll forever remember this episode of Meateater. Great job to everyone on the Meateater Crew/Team.
you have got to be kidding me! That was incredible! Steve and Clay are different people for sure but their dynamic on hunts has always been one of my favorite parts of the show.
There's nothing like harvesting from the land and sea and cooking it right up, best feeling and fresh as you can get! You know every step that fish and game has been through start to finish, nothing more satisfying! I miss being able to do that terribly, moved from the northwest to TN, it's just not the same, not as accessible, especially the hunting, if you own property the whitetail hunting can be pretty good, but if you don't it's really hard to get access. I think I was just spoiled growing up in northern Idaho and all that vast public land and wilderness. Miss it every day. Great episode, love these!
I used to watch Tred Barta and loved his videos because he would not only hunt but like you Steve he would also fish and catch crabs and other fish etc. When you add Humor to it and joke around, it makes it even better. These are really quickly becoming my favorite videos of all. You're so knowledgeable on how to cook things and it really is the perfect storm of happiness that's hunting and fishing good job, man. Great beauty from the photographer also.
I love this show. It’s unexplainable because I live in N.C. so all this is so far away from anything I could do. But, the way Steve goes about things somehow brings peace to me.
Just watched a bull mose hunt . Yall stopped to catch lunch in river. Trust me wen I say this sir you live an extremely blessed life! I'm a single dad that has not been hunting since my divorce I soooo miss it I'm 60 now with ailments from 30 years in construction but I love watching you do what I used yo in Kentucky. I'd love to do it again . Anyways sir keep on with great videos
There's something incredibly comforting about a Meateater episode. It just seems to strip back the layers of bullshit in life and present the simple raw necessities.
If anybody is wondering why Clay’s coat has dark bands under the arms it is because it is a duck hunting coat. Those bands help a dog see hand signals easier. Pretty cool. Awesome episode boys!
Seeing you boys doing this makes me realize that I may never have the cash or time to do this, but I can live through you guys. Your content is awesome. A true dream. I can only hope that I can get my father on one of these trips while he is able. My brothers and I would love to get him on one of these. Would be a perfect gift for an old disabled Vietnam vet. Heck, even catching fish with him in Alaska would be a dream come true. Thank you again for sharing your experiences. I truly love it. And to smoke a bear in a wet-suit with a bow at 10 yards is EPIC!!!
That looks like a great time. Can't imagine anything better than sitting around with some friends or family eating some fresh fish or big game. I am so excited for the upcoming hunting season. It's right around the corner.
Great episode. Loved the hand shake after the first bear. No high fives thankyouverymuch. Nice finish with the cooking part. Nobody gets tricky nose itch from that meat. If the heat didn't kill them, the salt sure did! Put too much salt down. Saw it right off.
You guys in North America have an amazing array of wildlife, and I just love the way you will eat just about everything off an animal that you have hunted. I'm from that silly country down under, still live there. I just discovered your channel. I've heard of Steve on JRE Podcast. Meat Eater is a great watch. Thanks for posting it on TH-cam.
Clay! Great video story I did the search for it because of the Vortex Nation Podcast #308 of your story. I loved a lot of your comments you made, church going family & setting time to be with your 4 children.. Loved the comment too about the "Jokers Pepper!" at the end. I use the same pepper you do Ha! Thanks for sharing your stories & all you do for the bear & hunting community!!!
That was amazing Steve Thank you so much for sharing and I think you should patent your new idea That worked out great 👍 I always look forward to all of your videos Thank You again for sharing with us
Give me a job please Steven 😂😂😂 you guys fishing 😂 way to hang with your palls! So cool to see your your relationship with your friends. Very lucky man Steven!
A new season of Meat Eater makes me feel like an 8-year-old on Christmas morning
😂😂
Exactly!
My son is 8 and I think he prefers a new season of meat eater over Christmas. 😂
It's better then Christmas.
@@alicianordick1952same!! Haha we are doing something right 🤣
Whenever there’s a new episode on Steve’s Alaska cabin it feels like getting a match on Nuketown. Just happy for a classic.
That comparison is crazy because it’s accurate.
Don’t think there’s a better comparison. 😂
Dude just reading that felt good haha
I felt this comparison in my soul 😂
I know they don't get that, but we do. Much love.
Man, I could listen to Steve and Clay's banter all day long. Great stuff.
Do you listen to their Podcast? It's called Meateater. Bear Grease is Clay's. There great.
the fish shack episodes are my favorite, I'd love to sample all that beautiful spot has to offer. i'd watch 10 hours of this, no problem
The trash talking.... priceless. STEVE : "Clay, what are you doing"
"You're slacklining!" 😅
That had me cracking up. Carried the same tone as my dad getting frustrated with me 😂
"Sounds like a GWAR concert" I LOVE IT ❤
The chemistry between Mudd and Cleave is heart warming 🥰
The cabin episodes are always my favorite because of the biodiversity. The fishing mixed with the hunting on public lands without fences or borders makes it really special.
It’s called everyday Alaska!
I live abroad now and haven’t been able to go home for buck camp in the north woods for like 5 years now. Watching new meat eater shows keeps me centered. It’s like a little slice of those experiences you get in the woods.
“You put an unbelievable amount of salt on it” lol Such a great episode. Love MeatEater
Let's Go!! Best hunting and outdoors show hands down!
Really hope you boys know what an inspiration you all are.
🙌
I bought steves cook book. Went on my first hunt last year and got a doe. Thank you Steve for inspiring me to go out into nature, harvest my own meat and work with conservation.
I’m so pumped this was the first episode, I’ve been looking forward to seeing this since clay gave the after action report on bear grease
Absolutely ecstatic everytime Steve is in an episode.
Lol you people don’t understand how this channel works, Steve is in every meateater episode, but not every video uploaded to this channel is a meateater episode
This is the new season of meat eater he will be in every episode
@@anactivemarketcrash742 he is not wrong
I learn so much from these folk but yea Steve is the goat
JFC. Meateater fans are the worst
Absolutely loved the banter in this episode. It felt like a weekend adventuring with your best mates
Coolest black bear hunt I’ve ever seen! Great episode!
You need to watch more hunts.
This was a VERY good one. But maybe my favourite was when he took a Navy Seal out black bear hunting a few seasons back. That was EPIC.
Such a relaxing and enjoyable hunting channel, I feel like I’m involved in every conversation.
I Absolutely Love when you cook what you kill at the end of the episode! I wish I could visit Alaska one day!
I know I'm late to the show, but this has become a go-to not just for the incredible storytelling but all the neuanced lessons learned as a consumer.
Lol a consumer get outside
At 20:03 I swear that bear moves while it’s on the ground 😂
He totally does. Surprised no one else is talking about it. Notice have right when it moves the shot changes. Probably wanted to hid the fact that no one checked to see if it was actually dead before standing and talking next to it. 😂
Animals, including humans can move after they are functionally dead. All it takes is some sodium/potassium to move outside/inside a cell.
Kudos.
I think this one of his best eps. Instant classic.
Also big credits to the production and the men behind the camera.
Keep it up!
Straight to TH-cam this year is way better than that website mess last year
There’s nothing better in terms of content than the Alaska stuff, man.
Keep it comin’
It’s so funny to me how awkward clay is with a rod in his hands
It's like an actor/actress "smoker" who doesn't smoke. Instant tell.
I’m not sure he has ever fished. Atleast it looked like it
Yeah he high stick'd the hell outta that fish, had to have been what caused it to get off.
Clay was definitely fighting it weird.
Funny how some people don’t have a knack for fishing. But then, Clay could do everything else in the world better than me. 😂
I winced as he salted the shoulder and died laughing when they said how salty it was 😂
How about the guy filming the wetsuit bear hunt? We never give the photographers enough credit.
Yea they do in the credits
If you mention the photographer it ruins the illusion that you are there- suspension of disbelief and all that.
Anytime you have the Steve and Clay connection, you're in for a good show..
Always feel surprised when these episodes end. Just get immersed and feel like they will keep going.
Oh... and please feel free to release a ton more content too. I am positive that everyone else would agree!
damn bro I hope your condition doesn't hinder you too much, if you are in edmonton canada I would take you hunting for sure, one thing i can guarantee is we will prob come back empty handed lol.
Love how they put these on TH-cam now for free vs any other platform. Thank you
This is classic steve genuine, informative and caring. This is the type of video that got me into hunting.
Thanks steve!
I love the hunting in the show but I think the part that sells it for me is how relatable of a guy Steve is. He just seems like a guy I could sit down and have a deer steak and a glass of whiskey with. Loving this season also!
Steves videos are GREAT. His comrades are always fun, very respectful of the game they take and informative as well.
"they look bigger when you look through the binoculars"
Hahahahaha
That jigging lesson! Like Deja vu… fishing sea cucumber in se in the winter, I’ve been that guy laughing at my buddies losing fish and snagging bottom, using that same ‘unique’ jig stroke. Love it!
Clay was probably the best addition to meateater possible
If this is episode 1, Holley fk I can not wait for the rest of the episodes.
Steve you are by far one of the most entertaining gentleman I have had the pleasure of watching.. not never fail in putting a smile on my face..
Well done to Rendell, and a even bigger well done to Clay.. Clay you come a close second to Steve in the entertainment..

“That’s a wetsuit beer if ever I saw one” every time Steve sees a beer 😅😅😅 reminds me of fishing “yep that’s a keeper” to every fish hahaha
Pepper that you can use as a windicator 😂😂 32:08
I love the alaska/hut episodes.. I find myself watching them over and over again
Hearing Clay say “We can keep him?” Was hilarious 😂 bro was a kid again
Sheesh, this was a good episode. Great work as always! 🔥
I absolutely love the Alaska episodes. That cabin and location you guys have there looks amazing.

It’s like - how can they keep getting better? I smile through all of it like a kid in a candy store wanting to do and taste it all, too!
Loved the Jimmy Carter sub hat. Worked on that boat. Feels good to see a hat like that on your shows my friend!
I love the original Meat Eater episodes, especially the ones in SE AK. Nice episode gentleman. Much appreciated.
One of the better meat eater episodes . Those scallops made my mouth water
I used to watch Tred Barta and loved his videos because he would not only hunt but like you Steve he would also fish and catch crabs and other fish etc. When you add Humor to it and joke around, it makes it even better. Clay is the best addition to Meateater! Awesome Dude.
Gwar call out. Love it.
"Hes right in your face" just calm and cool as ever XD
I don’t hunt or fish much if at all anymore, still love this show and Steve’s personality is one of a kind.
I wanna see Steve Rinella at a GWAR concert!!!
America has some of the worlds best locations. Absolutely beautiful landscape
Southeast Alaska makes for my favorite films. Thanks.
I love this show. It’s unexplainable because I live in N.C. so all this is so far away from anything I could do. But, the way Steve goes about things somehow brings peace to me.
19:00 triggered me that he didnt see him haha How can someone be so blaze haha

Steve you make me miss hunting in Alaska. Best place in the world to hunt and fish.
My favorite episodes at Steve episodes. Thrilled a new season is here...
I love this show. I just had to say it. Now you know. Your life is enriched with this knowledge.
"Sounds like a Gwar concert" 😂😂😂
Appreciate the metal reference!
There's something incredibly comforting about a Meateater episode. It just seems to strip back the layers of bullshit in life and present the simple raw necessities.
I absolutely enjoy the laughter and the enjoyment of this clip.
If anybody is wondering why Clay’s coat has dark bands under the arms it is because it is a duck hunting coat. Those bands help a dog see hand signals easier. Pretty cool. Awesome episode boys!

I've looked forward to this alllll day. Watching right before bed so I can dream of wilderness
I remember them talking about this hunt on the Podcast.
Great episode.
God bless you guys.
Clay and Steve always have the best hunts.
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY brother and everyone else thank you for sharing your adventures in the wild outdoors
Fantastic hunt again, thanks for the escape to the wildness. Be safe.
Clay is out there like he's jiggin for crappies, lol. I can relate.
I was so excited to see this come out. Thanks Steve and the gang!
That looks like a great time. Can't imagine anything better than sitting around with some friends or family eating some fresh fish or big game. I am so excited for the upcoming hunting season. It's right around the corner.
steve is growing on me. wonderful filming and camaraderie.
Perfect day setting here watching Steve and the boys and petting my beagle
That scene when he’s skinning the bear with the deer feeding in the background was killer. I’d die for a piece of property like that
Elk and a black bear, great start to the season 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Great episode. Loved the hand shake after the first bear. No high fives thankyouverymuch. Nice finish with the cooking part. Nobody gets tricky nose itch from that meat. If the heat didn't kill them, the salt sure did! Put too much salt down. Saw it right off.

I’m so happy for this new season!!!
Clay is that guy that’s always positive, even when he’s miserable.
Is it just me or is Steve starting to become an old man! Love how much these guys and the crew have grown and the community they have become!
The GWAR concert comment made me happy! Awesome episode!
