Happy Holidays to the 101 teaching staff. When I was little I always thought that the Sega games had the best music. The music in this one was good too.
Sega started out with one of the best themes of all time in Green Hill Zone, so there's certainly some credibility to that idea. Happy Holidays to you, too, April!
I played a lot of home alone on the nes as a kid. I still remember all hiding spots and have fond memories of playing the game. Great job as always, and happy holidays to you and yours! 😀
Thank you TC. The more people mention the cool aspects of the other versions the more I can't help but think all the developers should've pooled their best concepts into one ultimate edition of Home Alone for all the consoles, heh. Happy Holidays to you as well!
Unless all the houses are on a hill, there is no way that Kevin can slide that fast or even move without gaining any forward 4:07 momentum. Realism aside, this is an interesting and unique take on the first Home Alone video game series.
Have to say, I've never played this one. I've only played the two for SNES. These games couldn't possibly be more different overall. Happy holidays to you, Gary, Blaze and Fluff!
Yeah it's one of the more interesting gaming properties where half a dozen developers through their hats into the ring all at once so you got tons of different interpretations on the same concept. Happy Holidays, Jackal!
Shooting Marv into the hole looked like a scene that could/should have actually been in one of the movies. Noice. Great vid as always, Professor! This is an interesting early sort of tower defense/Herzog Zwei-esque RTS concept, which is definitely not a thing you see everyday. This music, though, smacks of HiTech expressions; not bad, but definitely loops too often.
I didn't think of it like that but good call, this definitely has an early tower defense feel to it. They should have done a bit more with the traps rather than giving you a very limited finite supply from the start.
I actually really like the NES version of Home Alone. I had fun hiding in the Christmas tree. Link and Mario couldn't hide in a Christmas tree. Also.. nice sweater, Gary👍❄
I believe 2023 can be the year that Brigands and VG101 reach the goal of 300,000 subs for daily streams! If we keep doing the algae-rhythm things Eg. comments watch-time we can do this! Happy Holidays Scary Gary!
Thank you BBJ! Haha I'll certainly take 300,000 in 2023, but we're aiming for 1000 first. We're finally going to do the dreaded class on Battletoads once we hit 1000 subscribers.
No stair hopping, stair skating, tub glitch, sled bounce for speed. This game is at most 3/10 difficulty on expert. Funny you got the Jacob Marley softlock. The electric grenade can softlock the game if you shoot too many for a finisher into the score screen. The Wet Bandits never go back to the same house they just left so you can save sled battery. You can jump off the hook faster if you press the directions and buttons. At the score screen you can hold the shoot button and hit the bandits more for fun and not waste ammo. You should use the BB ammo when the pain meter is almost full to save more important ammo. If you want to see the different weapon finisher quotes but not waste better ammo you can shoot a BB at a distance and quickly switch weapons so the BB travels and ends the house. You can loop the wet bandits in the Future House with the upstairs safe and have Short Circuit keep zapping everyone one after another.
Good tips! I'd say the difficulty varies depending on what ammo you can find at the start as it's very easy to lose a house near the beginning if you aren't lucky with the weapon components, especially if you're relatively new to Expert.
Where are the walking sections; does Kevin really expect us to believe that his snow sled is powered by a small electrical motor -- seriously it just does not make any sense ?! Plus, this version should have been ported to other home consoles...like maybe even the Sony PS1 or N64.
40 minute police response time in Chicago? if only people were so lucky nowdays
Haha.

This was easily the favorite Genesis game of both me and my sister back in the day. Incredibly fun!
Yeah tons of replay value in this one. I loved it on the Game Gear.

The sled has a motor, the first thing he says is the sled has a boost and you collect charges for it in the snowmen
Watching these classes help us GET GUD
Haha I never use that language myself but THANK YOU Spoon and happy holidays!

Ha that's true, Kevin did have that one up on the Mario brothers. And yep, the TAs got a bit more festive for this one.
This is the better verson of home alone also happy holidays professor
Happy holidays to you as well Stardust, thank you!
This is one of the weirdest games for its time that I've ever seen. Great work beating the pants off it.
Thanks DC; it's certainly in a league of its own.
this game was way ahead of it's time
Agreed, the crafting was awesome and fun and it's still a challenge to get that perfect when you pick it up each time.

I had played Home Alone for Genesis and Game Gear. The Electrical Grenade (Can+Wire+Magnet) can be used in BOTH Beginner a Expert modes.
Ah good call; I was getting it mixed up with one of the guns which were exclusive to expert.

I played the snes one the other day not to bad I liked it
I'll have to give some of the other versions a longer look next year.
40 minutes to arrive to a rich, and fancy neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois...realistic ?
Haha very good point.
Yes

Yep every system should've gotten this one; it's the definitive and best Home Alone if you ask me.
Absolutely @@VideoGames101
I was first introduced to this game from your playthrough on the main channel. Loved seeing the nitty-gritty of how it works here too.,
Ha nice, yeah thought it would be a perfect class for the holiday season. Thanks Tim for watching on both!
