l didn't have the opportunity to play it cause l just had snes which l played contra III a lot and ps2. my cousins had all consoles since neo-geo but l only had the opportunity to play neo geo and sega saturn
@@DigiteAquiONomeDoCanal contra was better on the snes but the sega versiin pushed the megadrive to its best capability i had the megadrive and snes and though both systems were and still are great. Fab games on both systems although super nes streetfighter was better than megadrive as the snes controller was sooo much nicer to play streetfighter 2.megadrive ofcourse had a fantastic library of arcade games to port over to the home system - - early nineties was exciting for the home consoles and as a kid with a spectrum 48k it was a dream to play these machines and even now just to put a cart in without downloading, updating, costumes, levels.. What a bore.. Hey at least you were playing a neo geo back in the day.. Wow.. I used to drool over that machine back in 91👴

Maceta this game is basically impossible I've been working on it and I can't even make it close to boss one. So I came here to see what it was all about. Incredible. Now back in the day I could make some progress on contra 3 on snes, but I never could do jack on this one. Damn hard

I won't say "no one believes that" because their are 26 gullible people that seem to believe it. But, I will say this game isn't impossible as some would have you believe. I beat it and it's made me respect the Contra series and no damage runs.

The graphics alone ard still mind blowing to this day,also the music & sound effects are still, i wonder how konami pulled this off,even sega would,ve be amezed by such incredible clever special effects.

One of the first games I could ever remember playing as a child.. I was barely able to beat the first stage, coming back now as an adult to see the rest of the game and what I’ve missed out on is an absolute treat 😢 the multiple endings, various boss fights and awesome ost. I’m sure glad I watched this!!
This was such an underrated game. As a genesis owner I was so bummed that the only way i could play contra 3 was going to my friends house. Then this game came out and as little kid that was probably the happiest moment of life.
Used to play this game with my mom when I was a kid. She's been gone for 10 years now, but the visuals and soundtrack from this game brings back those great memories

This game was impossible when I was a kid. The music throughout still triggers depression and anxiety, thoughts of me being less than a person.

Sega games were full of surprises.... This contra, mortal kombat and dune. They really gave me so much funs in my childhood

Whoa! Excellent playthrough of one the most challenging games I owned on my Genesis back in the day! This game gave us so much re-play value with the multiple endings! Level 1 introduces you to the variety of challenges you will face, but those later levels were still a good learning curve for a while. Thank you for bringing back my childhood memories! ^_^

Best contra game by far for me. So much story and variation of weapons and characters to choose from.
My favorite ending is the one where you fight aliens on a missile. It is the most epic, AND the most conclusive in my opinion. It's also the first ending I got.

I found this contra way easier than most other contras. Brownie was op. Having different weapons to swap to helps immensely allowing versatility.
I think the characters were supposed to work like difficulty levels. Brownie was essentially easy mode and Fang is hard. Ray and Sheena are medium.
The best Contra of all time, so much KABOOM, good OST, bosses and stories
The developer of this game is too impressive, he made unusual enemies, like flying bug or crazy leg circle monster😂

Ээх,вернуться бы в то детство,когда играл с братишкой сутками,пока не расплавиться блок питания или родаки не заберут приставку))) сейчас хоть и уже за 30-ку,скачал эмулятор на сотку,дабы вспомнить классные времена)

Любимая игра на сеге.Графон и музыка нереально радовали.Музыку даже на кассету записывали с друзьями.А сейчас в инете можно найти хорошие каверы на эту музыку)

I still play this game at least 2x a week on my model 1 Genesis from 1990.. I can walk right through it..so fun!!
Me and my brother broke so many controllers on this game.
However we bought the japanese version for the MEGA DRIVE, thus having 3hit bars and still smashed it.
A memorable soundtrack, powerful explosions and well rounded game play.

the creativity in all of thzese scenarios and monsters is absolutely astonishing. I only knew the nromal Contra, which so cool back then. But somehow TH-cam brought this gem to my attention

I remember back in the 90's, I was with a friend, and he told me: "I have Contra, wanna play?" and we played Contra Hard Corps for the Genesis (the most common console over here at that time) and I remember choosing Fang not knowing anything about the game, he told me: "choose Fang" (knowing that was the hardest character to learn but could be the best one if learned). I remember getting killed by that mechanical spider and also that giant robot at 2:00 used to scare the shit out of me, specially the first time, that effect was so good for it's time. I remember not getting far into the game but he actually made it far. Recently, as an adult I have beaten it with all characters and all endings, but only once 1cc. This is the best Contra ever made
That's a nice story. Isn't it cool as adults to go back and beat the games we couldn't as kids? I've done that to many games, mostly shoot em ups. Some I couldn't beat back then and some I never even knew about. Just got Contra Hard Corps off Ebay a couple weeks ago along with the Retro-Bit 6 button Genesis controller. Can't wait to dig into it!!

I played this game with my older cousin in my Sega Mega Drive 2 console back then when I was still in the Elementary School in around 1994. My cousin borrowed the cartridge from his other cousin. It was so fun. Albeit it's freakin' hard to finish it alone. But we still managed to get one of the endings if we played together. I really liked its branched storylines and multiple endings. Awesome game.

This is a snapshot of history, of a much simpler time. 90's raves, electronic music slowly taking over the world (in a good way), this was an incredible time for entertainment culture.
WatchMojo didn;t even list this game as number 1 for most difficult. Instead they listed Battletoads lol. Uhhh I remember getting past the first stage in battletoads. This game, not so much. If you notice, this guy never got touched once. Thats because if you were hit twice, you were dead.
The western version of Hard Corps were both 1 hit death affairs, the Japanese version gave you up to 3 hits before losing a life. The slide move in this game can and will save your life more often than not. First stage of this game is not hard outside of the boss, but even then he is predictable, and the slide move can save you against his low flying attack when he splits in half. Battletoads on the Genesis is easier than the NES version, but still pretty broken, so it's difficulty is more random than anything. A lot of UK made games tended to have cheap difficulty spikes, whereas Japan made games tended to be a bit more rounded in how difficulty would build.
Weird, we did beat this game back in the day with my cousin multiple times. Wouldn't say that it's a walk in the park but it's manageable.
overall, the game is all about pattern recognition, as alot of hard games were, once you sussed the patterns alot of bosses were faceroll, and there are weapons such as YoYo from brownie, and Fang's charge beam and the powerslide that means you can cheese alot of the game, so overall if you play standard it is fairly tricky but it is not overall hard
I loved playing this game on Sega in my childhood, it makes me nostalgic today 😄

It takes so long
The Second Scenario has to be my favourite of all of them. It captures who the real villains are in their truest form, pure evil. The final battle begins encapsulating a face of terror of which ends in destruction above the skyline.

God, how many drugs did these devs DO? This is amazing! So much creativity, and in a shooter, no less. Sound design is terrible, but the humor and wildly branching story makes up for it.
