I have several 8BitDo controllers. I've got one wireless one for my phone, one wireless one for my Firestick that has retro games on it, one for my gaming laptop, 2 wired ones for my Raspberry Pi 4 plugged into the USB ports, etc! Love the Nintendo Wavebird! Signal was so strong! I could be outside in the middle of the yard laying in a lawn chair while looking through the living room window controlling my character while getting my tan on!

Yeah i think all 3 dualshock controllers were great. They were always some of my favorite controllers.. that may be why I like the 8bitdo Pro 2 so much, as its fairly similar, just more SNES style tho.

Retrobit makes great controllers for the Sega consoles. Personally on the NES and SNES I'll take the 8-Bitdo receiver and connect the Switch classic controllers from Nintendo Online and use those since they sync up fine and feel more authentic over the actual 8-Bitdo ones. Great video! I'd like so see more of these.

The 8-BitDo arcade stick is fantastic, I replaced the buttons and stick and use it on pretty much every platform now thanks to Brook's range of Wingman adaptors. I also have a Retro-bit 2.4ghz Saturn controller, but it's not quite as nice as a real Japanese Saturn pad from the 90s.

Nice vid, love seeing all the variety available. I bought a Gamesir G7 wired controller for my Series X (also works on PC) and holy hell, I love that thing. You're totally on point with the 8bitdo M30 having a creaky d-pad after a while. Another issue I've had with the 8bitdo N30 NES controller is that the button membranes fail pretty quickly. Especially, if you're playing a lot of action games where you are rapidly pressing the button. I wish they sold replacement membranes for the N30, cuz I'd buy a 10 pack.

Pro 2 has been the best so far, BY FAR. It feels great, works great, has zero lag, and I LOVE the profile function. I have a standard layout for SNES style controls, of course, and a “rotated” layout for 8 bit (NES, genesis, etc), and a mirrored mode for Neo geo. No more dealing with in-game configs. The mode switch on back is nice, but I really only use X input so maybe I’m just not the market.
I also got an “ultimate” and ended up sending it back. Main issue: it doesn’t connect to some devices in 2.4 GHz mode, especially my MiSTer, and if it can’t connect to that, it’s out.

I have my own little selection. I have a Mayflash arcade stick for my Arcade and Fighting game needs. I have a wired 360 controller for Steam and most of my emulation. For Saturn and Genesis emulation I used a replica of the Saturn controller, and for Gamecube emulation, I bought a Gamecube style Switch controller. Man, I forgot how comfy that Gamecube setup feels.

I love retro controllers, I have several here in my humble collection, I'd like to have more, but as I live in Brazil, even importing these days is getting more complicated.
I loved the translucent red Mega Drive controller, it's so beautiful, I just couldn't see which manufacturer it was, as it's new to me.
I have a Gamesir Kailed controller here, I love it, it has a great grip and works on several systems, I have some from 8BidDo and some from older consoles, like Wii, PS1 and PS2.
Little by little I'm adding to my collection, there's a Gamecube Bluetooth controller I bought a few days ago, as I don't have the console, this version is the most suitable, I watched some videos and they really praised its buttons, analogs and dpad, so it's become a new target.
    Nice collection, congratulations.

I nearly bought the stylish purple 8bitdo Pro 2 controller, but since I have the Pro+ I hesitatet, but I'm sure sooner or later I'll get one. Same with the Ultimate Controller, I want one.
I live in germany and weirdly enough, I didn't find any shop which has the SN 30 4.2 Ghz Controller for SNES oder Super Nt. I want to buy one, but don't want to import it. Those other 8bitdo controller can be bought everywhere but not the SN 30 2.4 G. Still I hope I'll get one sooner or later.

I have USB and original connection controllers from retro-bit for any original or PC emulation 8 and 16 bit games I play. Once it gets into Playstation 1 and beyond, I use an xbox 360 controller on PC for emulation and I have retro fighter controllers for N64 and Dreamcast for original hardware because those 2 contollers sucked, especially trying to go back to them after being spoiled with modern controllers.

I'm using the pro 2 for switch and GC (blue retro). At first I didn't use the profiles, but now I have it like this:
    Switch:
1st profile: Bumper-trigger swap. I don't like using the analog triggers in some games.
2nd profile: LS-Dpad swap. Not to much use, it was for links awakening mostly. If I need to make another profile this one goes out. I know a weirdo that does this to play smash.
3rd Profile: No vibration. Gyro doesn't work well on this controller if you use rumble, and games that use a lot of HD rumble make this controller insufferable, it's not a nice experience either way (I don't know why this isn't brought up in reviews, I have the retroflag grip controller thing and that does a really good job with translating hd to rumble and gyro). So I like to have a quick way to disconnect rumble if needed.
GC: only one profile. Duplicate L and R to be both bumpers and triggers, correcting the button layout (blue retro rotates the buttons 90 degrees, A being the lower one and B the left one, good for some games but not everything) and using the back buttons for Z and duplicating Y(some games like fzero ask to press Y as you press A, thing that is really difficult if you aren't using the GC controller).

Do you have any issued with 4 wireless controllers of the same type? I'm trying to make it as easy as possible for people to use without having to config. The set-up will be in a communal area, looking at the 8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth Controllers with Charging Docks

I liked the pro 2 but the top of the analog stick ended up separating from the stick and it’s not built well with heavy use I found.

Thought I was alone on preferring the n64 pad for n64.
I actually prefer the 8bitdo genesis pad to the retrobit ones. The retrobit ones just feel cheap and not accurate to the og to me.

100% my top pick is the 8bitdo pro 2: amzn.to/3O5mGON
I love this controller a ton! And how it has a switch on the back where you can it synced up to multiple devices, a PC, Nintendo Switch etc... without having to resync or change settings. Puts it into X-Input when you put it on the x, and Switch when on the S.

I don't get why so many people like 8bitdo's dpads so much. I don't think they're that bad, but they are definitely not as good as, for instance, the Nintendo Switch Online SNES controller's dpad. They don't pivot right. It's just like the dpad on the switch pro controller.

I wish all the wireless controllers would accept AA batteries. So much easier to keep the one set of batteries charged and pop it into whatever I want to use rather than charge a million controllers. Also it's better for long-term that I don't need to take the controller apart and source a specialized replacement battery when it reaches end of life.

I'm a huge fan of 8BitDo...I am not however a fan of their cheap thumbsticks. Ultimately you get what you pay for and the thumbstick drift happens relatively fast and to a level that makes them unusable with every 8BitDo controller I've bought. Honestly if you haven't had this issue with 8BitDo you're a normie casual. Also at least one brand new controller had a screwed up audio jack that didn't work. That's what's going to happen at this price point.
Edit: on the flip side I also think the Elite2 is the worst controller out there for tons of reasons. So take it all with a grain of salt.
