This is a bike rack that that I'm very pleased with it's well made and easy to use but be careful that you tighten the 2 adjustable screws to drop the bike rack down for access to the boot otherwise they come loose by themselves while you're driving along and the bikes will just drop to the floor on a motorway this is a flaw in the design and it happened once before damaging my bike

I had one and eventually sold it for the old fashioned J type, the problem I had with it was the mounting straps need replacing where as the J type are ready to go when you are and also another great point is the boot can be opened with the carrier fitted.

The nut that tightens the bike rack does not wear out over time? Can't loosen up in the middle of the journey?

I always grease my towball, I take it you would have too clean and dry the ball before fitting bike rack.

No it wouldn't. Not unless the towball is at least a couple of inches beyond the spare wheel,

Would it fit with a spare wheel on the back of the car?

These are a horrible rack. They won’t stop swivelling on the tow ball hence swings like a merry go round around corners and damages your car. It’s not something that can be avoided.
