Thule stopped making the 946 last year. It was an excellent carrier, now replaced by the 943 (inferior) and 923 (excellent also). The 946 had the robust steel frame now used on the 943, combined with the quick release wheel straps, easily removed frame supports and full function light units of the 909.
The 9403 was replaced by the 9503 a few years ago. It is basically the same carrier, but the 9503 has an improved lighting board and reflectors. You may be able to open the tailgate but that is never guaranteed as different tailgates have different opening angles. If you ever pass our showroom, call in and we'll try a display model on your car.
Very clear voice and audio in this TH-cam video. Unfortunately, there was no demonstration of actually loading in the bikes. I want to get one of these to load our e-bikes. Doubtful that elderly folk or someone like me who has a bad back could ever get an e-bike on one of these. I was hoping by now that a major company like Thule would have something like the Ergomatic Electric Bike Carrier shown on TH-cam (I can't paste in the URL). Oh well.

When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
Hey, thx a lot for replay, I was very happy in see it. I'm just some steps to buy my 3 bike carrier. At my local shop I have the TH9403 (Max weight: 30Kg) and TH9402 (Max weight: 45Kg). The 9402 is in better price and accept more weight. So, what is the advantage of the 9403? Regards
Interesting... Wow! I had no idea the Thule products from outside North America were so unrefined compared to the NA versions. I don't think Thule offers lower-end products here.

I haven't seen that model in the US. I have been using a Thule Vertex ($276 HumblePower) for the last few months ...very happy with it.

Hi Victor, all of these carriers require a 50mm ball. The european ball has a small flat on the top for identification.
This maybe better than my roof bars/bike carrier to prevent constant wind noise as they stay on roof always
