back in laos, during the secret war, our house was using corrugated tine for the roof... each time, rainwater would leak through. this practice, when you don't have a lot of things to seal stuff with, my dad would use car gasoline and dipping styrofoam and use it as a putty-like glue to mend stuff with. this would seal holes and whatnot.

Styro putty! Nice. Aparently Turpentine mixed with Styrofoam is similar to acetone too, plus in the above he mixed a lot of styrofoam into the acetone to make a glue, but if you mix much less styrofoam into the Acetone (or maybe turpentine too, never tried that one) it turns into something very similar to polyurethane. So a mix of scrap styrofoam and acetone might be able to protect wood for you in a similar way to polyurethane. Cabots Poly wood finish is $50 a litre here. Acetone is about $10 a litre. If turpentine works in a similar fashion as I suspect it would, that is about $5 a litre...

Now he'll be able to glue that board to the wall to cover the holes he made for no reason. And he's got fancy caulking gun/ tape measure art to decorate it. In fact, once he glues all the other tools he made onto boards, he'll get a bunch of free Styrofoam when he orders new tools from Amazon to replace the ones he glued to the wall. Win/ win!

A little quick runthrough for those of you who don't have time to watch this:
    1. Make napalm, slowly
    2. Glue a gnome to some cardboard.
    3. Glue your tools to a plank using napalm.
    4. Smash some drywall with a strange custom spinning trident.
    5. Glue some screw cap to a screw, and put some sandpaper on it.
    6. Use this to awkwardly sand an old hammer.
    7. Sharpen a piece of pipe, and use it to drill holes in a belt.
Aaaaand we're done. Good work. Thumbs up.

I have to say you made me giggle, and I have no idea why. I just like the way your mind works. Lol I was over here like wtf is the purpose...how the heck you gonna caulk something now...
      1. At first I thought he was getting ready for round two in nam...
      2. Then realized he just wanted to see if any of us were stupid enough to think that tiny 3/4 inch of sandpaper would not be smooth as a babys fresh kissed bottom in half a nano second..
      3. But maybe the truth is he is about to go gi-jopsycho and the napalm is gonna take out half his city block and he intends to prove he has an iq of less than 75 and use it as his defence... like i am not smart enough to be accountable for making the mapalm that offed the block...
      4. Here look I even glued my gluing gun to a bord that was sad and alone...
      5. Then the glue gun got sad and the tape measure went over to lend peer support
      6. Something must be done for these minority tools from 3 subgroups of the tool family.
      7. The blacksheeps if you will. No one likes that hammer he is a bully always hitting on stuff.
      8. That glue calk gun ..well, you can not get rid of his ass. Just run away when you see him coming unless you have 6 hours to talk about your digestive system being plugged up...
      9. That poor little tape measure ...noone likes him because he just measures himself against everyone else, making excuses 1/8 inch at a time. It is just not fair. You got glued to the board, rendering yourself absolutely useless. I want to be useless this time.
      10. It is the saddest of situations. Someone give them a hug. Set some therapy appointments and go lay in a toolbox talking about how the other tools do not want to be your friend.
      11. Go tell the teacher the screwdriver said you're stuck on stupid, and your glue looks like it could use some time in the shop on that bench grinder.

But showing some practical ways that could help people would have been better. Also, to me it would be quicker, easier, less effort to just go out and buy the bit that makes a nice clean cut hole. Acetone is not that expensive! Try shopping around, it's about £2 a litre here, and he used about 200ml. But you are right, these are not great hacks! Hot glue to hold on sandpaper, that gets hot and a hole saw that rips things apart, that cost peanuts to buy.

@@Raphael-2 Yes, however, France is surrounded by many exporters. United States of America has to get their things from a long distance ocean freighter. France also has a president that is a lot more likeable than the American president. Emmanual Macron is also fluent in French and English. This makes him his own diplomat, to an extent. The American president likely only speaks a dialect of English, probably not the correct King's English. That will automatically make President Macron more likeable to foreign exporters, and therefore France more likeable to foreign exporters. The American government also has an extremely bad habit, since about the 1970s, of trying to run other nations more than they run their own nation. This does not look very favourable to other nations. Exporters would likely charge the Americans more than what they charge other nations. Sadly, this puts the American citizens at a horrible disadvantage. They are being punished for poor decisions their government makes. It does not seem as if their votes even work. You would think that they would vote out the universalist politicians in favour of politicians that focus on their nation.

That they don't take an interest in civics because they don't believe in the concept, and thus they don't engage and don't change anything.
"We were keeping our eye on 1984. When the year came and the prophecy didn't, thoughtful Americans sang softly in praise of themselves. The roots of liberal democracy had held. Wherever else the terror had happened, we, at least, had not been visited by Orwellian nightmares.
"But we had forgotten that alongside Orwell's dark vision, there was another - slightly older, slightly less well known, equally chilling: Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. Contrary to common belief even among the educated, Huxley and Orwell did not prophesy the same thing. Orwell warns that we will be overcome by an externally imposed oppression. But in Huxley's vision, no Big Brother is required to deprive people of their autonomy, maturity and history. As he saw it, people will come to love their oppression, to adore the technologies that undo their capacities to think.
"What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Orwell feared those who would deprive us of information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egoism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance. Orwell feared we would become a captive culture. Huxley feared we would become a trivial culture, preoccupied with some equivalent of the feelies, the orgy porgy, and the centrifugal bumblepuppy. As Huxley remarked in Brave New World Revisited, the civil libertarians and rationalists who are ever on the alert to oppose tyranny "failed to take into account man's almost infinite appetite for distractions." In 1984, Orwell added, people are controlled by inflicting pain. In Brave New World, they are controlled by inflicting pleasure. In short, Orwell feared that what we fear will ruin us. Huxley feared that what we desire will ruin us.
