This vehicle specific, multi-purpose base roof rack fits the specified vehicle with a bare roof. The system includes two Thule WingBar Evo load bars, four Thule Evo Clamp feet, and a Thule Evo fit kit.
Each component is predetermined, tested and approved by Thule for the specified vehicle.
Locks are recommended and available separately in match sets.
The Thule WingBar Evo's internal structure creates an exceptionally strong load bar. Advanced aerodynamic design minimizes wind noise and drag. The upper T-track interface allows smooth installation and removal of compatible accessories. Thule fit engineers have predetermined the optimum bar length for this vehicle.
The Thule Evo Clamp is specifically designed for vehicles with a bare roof, the design features tools-free assembly and installs onto the vehicle securely with the included torque limiter tool.
The Thule EVO Clamp Fit Kit is engineered specifically for this vehicle with a bare roof. Custom shaped rubber pads rest directly on the roof at assigned locations and rubberized steel brackets grip to the vehicle's door frame.
The simplified three-part instructions are clearly illustrated to ensure confident assembly and installation of the roof rack.

Does it matter that the instructions say “without glass roof”?

For anyone having this problem, make sure you loosen the hex bolts on the clamps before mounting on the roof. My clamps would not fit in the proper locations until I did this

Great advice and correct there are a lot of vehicles that the central bolt needs to be loosened off for the clip to wrap around the vehicle properly. One of my favorite how mechanically minded are you "tests" with new staff haha.

Not padded, I assumed it had some sort of protection and ordered it..

Thank you for this - It was the rubber inserts on the top of the bar that had me confused. I nearly tore off the wrong part. There is a strip that has small Vs on it - do not tear this off - instead dived the strip evenly down the middle! The clue was when you showed how the T bold slid down the middle of these two strips!
How do you explain the rubber foot pads lifting free after tightening?
Hello. That would usually be caused by incorrect foot placement on the bars. The inner edges will lift if the feet are too far out. Thanks!

Why would you put the sticker on the back, exposed to the elements? The instructions clearly indicate to put it on the inside on the rubberized clip. Where it has a cover over it. And won’t come off. And is pretty much always connected to the clamp.

Hello. Yes, the base pads will peal off from around the perimeter of the foot base, to remove a door frame bracket, push up on the bracket into the foot, then push inward, then down, same for each foot. Thanks!
Paul I'm not sure which number door clamps I inserted, how do I take them out to put them in the correct place?
Once they are in I can't see the serial numbers at the top

This is a fabulous video and I've got my rack 3/4 installed on my car. Now what do I do if I "Y" setting for the rear bar says 35.5 for that slider underneath, but the clamps can't reach the edges of my roof at that setting? Distance from front bar is confirmed. I'm guess just wing it and split the difference so both feet are at the same setting and bar is equidistant on roof. It looks wonky. The rear bar looks way too far forward.

quick question. I am about to buy this set of racks for a civic x sedan 2018 with sunroof. The Problem is, that the Thule sent me an email that for this type of car(with surnroof) the racks won;t fit....WHY? I ve seen a lot of cars with sunroofs and roof racks and have had a problem in years. Is that only as a safety thing or sth? because from what I saw, the sunroof opening/closing is not affected at all. Thank you very much for the response.

Great video! would the roof vehicle specific metal clamp mark up the factory paint from being on the car for a long period of time? If so, can you install a protective 3M layer on the contact point before mounting the foot clamps?
No need. The metal clips are completely covered in a protective P-Bax rubber. This provides grip and protection to the vehicle.
My rack has moved a little bit and it didnt harm the paint. A clear vinyl isn't a bad idea though.
Hi! I have a question before ordering this product. How will behave in time the attachement on the curve of the door. It is metal on metal. There will be scratched of the paint at the installation or afetrwards? Thank you!
Hi Cristian! It might scratch the car paint. You must follow the Thule guidance exactly to avoid problems. For extra protection, you could install a paint protection film PPF like 3M Scotchgard or similar.
I have a 2024 Impreza RS and the mounting points for the rails I am getting (SSD brand - I didn't want to do fixed point/direct to roof with the crossbars) are about 45 inches at the front and 43 inches at the back. What length Wingbar should I get? Thanks for the video, it is incredibly helpful!
Thanks for explaining the torque tool clicking. The manual isnt clear especially when you are screwing something metal (coated) to your new car. Our locks in the uk are included, but we probably pay more for the kit to start with. Thanks for the video

He doesn't say, but if you pause the video at 6:33 you will see that there are two ends, not one, as he individually finishes them off. Either that, or older models came pre-split.
I bought the whole lot 598 carrier , the evo wing bar myself. Its a great second to none quality system. The only thing wrong was Thule instructions are very poor. Now I am fairly handy at building things but this was tricky to understand. So thanks for the demo as I didnt even know the end caps were swing away and thats the rack been fitted for a few weeks.

Hello. The vehicle specific fit kit uses custom shaped rubber bases and Pebax rubber coated door frame brackets both are designed to fit the contours of the vehicle while protecting the finish.

Why does the fit kit I got for my feet not fit the feet? The ones I have, have two 'spires' coming out that insert into the uprights. Maybe it is an older model? And the clips that attach to the car are very short. Is there a fit kit for my car that works with these? Am I looking at it wrong? Because it does not seem like it fits or works - at all.

My end caps don’t snap on like yours did😢
Hello. The rubber on the top and/or bottom of the bar could interfere with the cap installation. Reposition or trim the rubber so that it does not prevent the cap from snapping into place. Thanks!
I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...

The 5043 Kit has very specific fitting instructions and isn't adjustable like that. Moving the bars front or back could cause them to slip and fly off as the clips and pads are engineered to sit at a very specific location. With the curves of some vehicles roofs visually some roof racks are hard to line up but Thule does a lot of testing on their products and all the various cars. You'd be able to put a paddle or surf board directly on those bars though! Its very important for warranty and safety, for both you and the people driving behind you that all roof racks are installed as per the manufacturer's guides and checked as per instructed.
Instructions from Thule are good, but I had to back off the torque screw on the clamp as far as possible to allow both clamps to fit at the same time and for the rubber feet to fit, when placing on the roof of the vehicle. Excellent video!

I recently purchased these racks and am having a lot of issues with the rubber pad staying flush to the roof of my vehicle in addition to having the bars hang evenly on each side of the car... any advice?
Does the rubberized, fitted footpad have to be flush with the car? I got mine installed and two of them aren't completely sitting on the car as the diagram shows.

So I have this exact rack for my 2019 camry, when you place the feet on the bar is the front supposed to be a little wider than the back or both the same, mine showed 39.5 for the front and 37 for the back if I read it right.

Hello. The EVO Clamp has fewer adjustment making install and removal faster. Expect about 2 minutes to remove the rack and 10 minutes to reinstall. Thanks!

Hello. The door frame brackets are coated in Pebax rubber which is specifically engineered to provide grip and protection to the surface finish.
This video was extremely helpful but my issue is after installing, drove the car and it’s super loud from the wind so I’m thinking did we do something wrong or what could it be?
It's important to install the rubber on the underside of the bar from the foot to end cap, without this rubber you'll get wind noise. Hope this does the trick!

will it damage the paint of door panel?
With proper installation no damage will occur to the vehicle. All the products which come into contact with the vehicle are rubberized.

does the moon roof still function or does the rack get in the way? i have a 2020 elantra gt nline with a panoramic moon roof but im not sure if roof racks could be installed.
The sunroof is not guaranteed to work with the roof rack. We have found that in most car the sun roof is able to be opened but we recommend slowly opening the sunroof on your first attempt to make sure the is no interference.

I have just got a 2018 Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport, and I have the right feet and pads, but my bar is "only" 127 rather than the reccommended 135. There's definitely more than 3"/8cm overhang in total for the Insignia, so can I use the 127 bar? Instructions say 46/E for spacing, can I add 1.5 each side and go for 47.5? (it's not chear if it's inches or cm mind!) Any help to retrofit would save me a tonne of cash! :)

So I was wondering. Is it ok to install small clean vinyl in the area where it clamps to the car to prevent from gouging the paint.
Hello. Generally, it is not necessary as the rubber is specifically engineered to be protective the the surface, however, 3M does manufacture a clear vinyl adhesive that could be used for added protection. We do not have a specific part number or source for this vinyl as it is not a method that is commonly used. Thanks!

Hello. We don't see a stock fit for a bare roof Kia Sedona, the stock fit requires the vehicle to be equipped with the factory installed flush side rails. Hello. Not the EVO Clamp systems or any clamp type roof rack. Most EVO Flush Rail, Raised Rail and Track mounted roof racks with a minimum 165 pound load limit minimum 27.5 inch bar spread are approved. Thanks!
Will these fit on any door clamp car?
How much weigh can these things support? I keep seeing adds for those roof nest tents...doesn’t seem like these could hold that kind of weight
Weight capacity is vehicle specific, use the Thule fit guide to determine the max load and tent approval. Thule, Yakima, and Rhino-Rack all state that their clamp-on type roof racks are NOT approved for the rooftop tent category.

I have the Wingbar Evo 127 and I have a problem pushing the plastic pieces at the end of the bars. I have double checked if the side was correct. Now there is a little gap of 2-3 mm at the borders and this may be cumbersome with water infiltrating. Any helpful advice would be appreciated!

Will the Thule Evo clamps/ feet work with the Rhino rack cross bars?
Unfortunately, they will not work. For safety reason, we recommend staying with the same brand for the rood rack system. For accessorizes, you can mix and match to your hearts desire.
