- We're undecided on the roof... we can't get a good look at it since the Hudson is in the way so we're going to move on to the floor fabrication. Bad Chad is thinking he wants to do a wooden floor. The first step will be to frame it with square tubing.

Don't be so cheap, Put a metal floor in it. For safety alone.
He has wood leftover from the building project he’s just making content
Quick rot floor
You always talk about jolene looking good in the morning , how come she never talks about chad looking good in the morning 😮😮😮😢
No wooden floors.
Make it a removable hard top...
Gotta say, I wasn’t expecting that coming! You got me.
No wood for the floor. Not the best idea long term.
Thinking outside of the square is one thing.....but a WOODEN floor? C'mon, Chad....That really is beneath you (no pun intended).
This one is heading in a bad direction .
Only in your opinion….
@@BruceWitcpalek-ws1rh Of course it is my opinion and I am entitled to express it. Why anyone would consider putting a wooden floor into a car that was built originally with a metal floor is beyond me.
His garbage isn't built to last...so its perfect
Yabadabado hello 👋 Bad Chad Nation we are number # 1 peace and spread the Bad Chad all over. Like 👍 and leave a comment help the channel grow.
Looks good both ways. Hard to believe it s a old Volvo. Looks awesome
Why would anyone who can fabricate metal choose a wood floor for a 50's car?
We vote NO on the roof and loose the skirts. Roadster is cool, like Jolene! :-)
Agree except the skirts
As much as any of these cars get driven you could probably just do a floor delete and forget about it.
Hey, don’t want to buy any more metal. He’s got wood left over from his building project.
A wood floor "really"! Im sorry but that really cheaps out on what was starting to look like a really cool ride.
why are you even watching this channel let alone commenting
Put in a glass floor so the passengers can watch the road
that would be cool
Looks way better as a Roadster !!! Forget the roof strengthen the chassis Rails under the floor , wooden panels for the floor after adding strength, leave the skirts and re design the front grill bumper and lights to suit . I know that it will look fantastic !!! .. ❤❤
As much as the car will be driven, a wooden floor will last forever
Hello Chad & Jolene happy Saturday! My opinion on a wood floor is if you plan on keeping the car go for it. If your plan is to sell the car then I personally would do metal floor because I feel that most people would not want the maintenance involved to keep the wood from rotting if it were to get wet from time to time. Then they would want to use deck stain and preserver top and bottom once a year. It is just my opinion! Jolene thank you for another great video you are so good with the camera among other things!
Don't go with a wooden floor, that car has great potential until you decided to go out on the cheap and go with a wooden floor. If it was an old Tinny, Yes, than that would make perfect sense but not on a Roadster. Plus, the metal floor will help reinforce the strength of the body big time. Which I think! it still needs.
Chad Chad Chad think about saftey put a metal floor in that car . If the drive shaft decides to break what do you think is going to happen .
Drive shaft is in the tunnel
Wood floor in a roadster! Not a good idea. 😮
The build is what the viewers enjoy so do what you want it to be !!
Metal floor are a must.
I’m not a fan of the fender skirts, but that’s just me and I know most people do like them I’m just old-school enough to like to see a wheel with a beauty ring and cap or even chrome reverse maybe. But I can’t wait to see how the top does eventually end up .I hope it gets used on this car.
I actually like it without the top I'm sure he'll weld it on however it'll be a lot of work to make the back window work...don't no...the chop look ok and will keep the rain out of it in some situations however no more Windows..hhhmmm..steel floor will make this car solid as hell .on wards guys..❤😊🎉
Wood floor I hope he welds a support to the front una body or the car will break in half..o boy..will see..😢
Boy I don't no the side support panels may hold now you get that car on the road it will rip this right out of the Inter fenders won't hold don't no
Una body is about a all steel floor..to support that the car there's the fact the body will twist don't no about the safety factor on this one..
As a guy would installed many wood floors, in Flat Bed and Dry Van Trailors, Metal floor seems simpler to me, no cutting wood and screwing in the wood, just cut and weld.
That was my first thought as well, I don't think the durability of wood is the real issue, homes have wood exteriors for decades and are fine, and this car will mostly sit inside a building rather than being exposed to the elements....but installing a wood floor seems like more labor, especially for Chad, since he has stated many times that he's not a carpenter. But whatever makes him happy, I suppose. Whatever..
@@kenrice6999I agree it's more labor intensive, but your right it's his call.
You guys really know how to keep interest. Watching you mess with the top was really interesting and a wood floor would be super cool. Way to think out of the box! I love it!
I think the build is fabulous. Just keep doing what you're doing Chad, you've got a vision that blows my mind away.
Wood is going to shrink ,and there will be gaps. You can use deviders like they do in truck beds.
His metal work has gaps...
Since Chad has decided to use square tubing for the floor , he can stiffen the unibody even more than the original steel floor, even with wood.
I see where Fina found a nice warm sunny spot to lay on trailer, haha
Ditch the skirts, leave the roof, but add a big sunroof or roll-back canvas opening (like a jeep) put the side windows back, let Jolene, once again, pick out the color and call it a day.
Love it!
It would be a nice Sunday cruiser as a convertible in my opinion 👍🏻
I like the concept… Fair weather Cruiser/ Driver. And a wood floor !?? , why not !
a wooden floor that sounds interesting go for it chad whatever you decide this will be an amazing custom car cant wait to see the finished product
It's not a model T it would not be legal on the road with wood. Sell it ...new owner gets in an accident IT COMES BACK ON YOU for taking integrity out of the car.
But Chad does amazing metal floors! This roadster deserves,,but I never underestimate the master’s ability
The wood floor sounds like a bad idea. Seat tracks should be anchored to steel! Besides wood wire for the mig welder is expensive and hard to find! Maybe STICK welding will work!
Get you some of those fancy mahogany rods for a stick welder! my brother actually told His mother-in-law that he couldn’t fix her couch because he didn’t know if he could find any mahogany rods!
Maybe the seats will be made of wood and screwed to the floor.
No, stick welding with wood won't work, cos he don't know how to stick weld 🤣🤣. He might try acetylene welding with wood, but he'd also be a newbie at that. Besides, we don't want him setting fire to the shop a second time, cos it might just burn to the ground and we'd miss out on all the fun. 🤣🤣
It will never get driven
Im gonna have to side with the masses......fabricate a metal floor.
Those metal rails on both sides of the transmission hump are original uni-body frame rails. Please use a metal floor so these can be tied in solidly. Love the car!
Wooden floors back to the twenties
How desirable is a wooden by any one ??????????????????
Chad's metal floor's are a work of art. Wood floor's look cheap and easy. Just saying.
Make the floor out of coat hangers and Bad Chad chrome! Lmao😂😂😂
Working on the building has turned chad into a carpenter-wood has proven itself not to last in a car-still fun to watch
Kia ora from Aotearoa New Zealand. I like the line the roof creates it suits the shape of the vehicle as. Good work Chad.
I saw your artist sticking out when you applied the metal with the welder behind the door. Perfect dude! A Cartist
I’m just curious but can Chad read a tape measure?
Happy Saturday all Go for it Chad its your car only you can make it look good 👍 love the roof make it removable🙏
I agree make the roof removable
Just do what ever you think Chad. My 427 AC Cobra has a 3/4 inch marine ply floor. Yes, it sits on basically 2 round tubes for its chassis, but probably not much difference strength wise to the 1/8 plate sills, but one hell of a difference power wise.
Right on Dude!...It`s great watching someone else work. You`ve got skills
Good episode, everyone!
If it is to be wood, should it be marine grade?
Won't matter if it never rolls.
Scrap the roof idea rest of the car looks great. Awesome camera work
Once again, this build is in progress. Chad's ideas aren't written in stone. I enjoy the process which may include Chad changing his mind or doing something that's not popular with the viewers. Either way, I respect his skills and accomplishments. Jolene's camerawork is stellar especially when she shows us something on her phone while filming Chad. Loved the glimpse of Fina on the trailer!
The topless/temovable option is the way to maybe a two tone paint white top and the right color bottom will make it all go together
P,lease don't put a wood floor in the Volvo, it will look cheap and tacky, it ruin the build.
I restored a 1959 MGA and it had a wooden Floor in it. No big deal.
Say no for wood fools in car lol in uk because of weather
Like the wood floor idea. I would check out pre-finished, tounge and groove wood flooring you can get a home improvement store - would look great, and the tounge and groove locks it all together. Not the cheapest, but all the finishing is done.
No roof 😊
Awesome episode! 👍
Jolene jump in it needs to be metal floor pan. Chad does great on making floor pans.
That roof looks good with the t bird/ el camino style rear window . Even where it would be fared in is subtle .
Where are you going to run the exhaust pipe, next to the wooden floor?
I know metal is expensive, but I'd still prefer a metal floor.
Nice job.
Go for it Team Hiltz 👁 🐅 👌
Like a jigsaw puzzle. Find it or build it. Tack it together, and somehow, it'll be one.
The roof will look good if you chop it to move the B pillars up closer to the door latch to make it more like a coupe.
Thanks for sharing with Hamilton, Ontario! Looking good as a convertible! js
ITS NOT 1 INCH LOOKED LIKE 3/16 THAT YOU USED LOVE YOUR WORK
Should be interesting how this turns out😊😊😊
Keep going Chad! 🇨🇦👍
Thanks from the mistake on the lake 😊
Why not a laser level, dirt cheap and always correct
Lol fena ready to go for a ride or go buy another car❤😊
next time clamp a couple of pieces of angle iron below the line so the long piece can sit on them while you're tacking it on.
Metal and carpet
Not bad chad. Looking good.
You can't have a VW badge on the car key! Nice build I think from Sweden
Nice 👍
Love it looks great
I was hoping u would paint the joeleans,,car, before winter 😎
next time clamp a couple of pieces of angle iron below the line for the long piece can sit on them while you're tacking it on.
Have a great weekend !!
The wood floor idea sounds interesting. GO FOR IT!
A late 40s ford pick up grill would be cool
I know with the floor and the chop chop both being altered I would never fit in it myself but it’s gonna be a cool ride for someone! Just wondering, did the Volvo floor drop down lower than the bottom of the rockers or was it pretty much straight across,Except for the tunnel?
All that custom fabrication, wooden floor?
Do whatever makes you happy bad CHAD and I am sure it will turn out masterfully as always !!
I LOVE FENDER SKIRTS as do most customisers. The no skirts idea is for street machiners.
Don't mess with the front end.
Roadster is the way to go it doesn’t look good with a roof on it anymore
Now volvo have a safety in there name this is modern in old car .
Florianópolis Brasil 🎉
The roof looks...Bad Chad to the bone..do it
Hey "BAD CHAD" NATION,..🐓in the🏠... MAKE THAT COMMENT & HIT THAT 👍LIKE BUTTON.""
i missed another chat Pfffft !
You really lost me with a wood floor and yes I already know Chad will say, well if they did it why can't I do it. I will tell you if I jump off a bridge does that make sense for you to do it Chad? Putting a wood floor in this car is telling my brain that Chad wants to take the easy road.
Don't give Chaddy ideas. We want Chaddy here for a long time so we don't miss out on all the fun; isn't that right @marykay?. 🤣🤣
So weird changing from watching on my desk top ,laptop and now my cell phone.
Chad I have a question on that little piece of pipe you put a bunch of lines into when you get that welded into place do you then fill in the welds in the lines in which you cut to strengthen it
Can't figure out how to get back to live chat by my cell phomr
Hold your finger on the comments box section and swipe left. 😉✌
Coat hanger?🤔Iam not a welder but is this a common trick of the trade to fill in holes ?
Nails, screws, bolts, basically any ferrous metal that fills the gap, will do ok and yes, pretty common trick if you're a farmer doing your own welding.🤣🤣
