We had a 1975 4 door Maverick 302 V8 3 speed on the tree. That car was invincible!!! It was Green with Green Interior. I would love to have that car today, it was a great experience to drive.
Do all the metal repair and paint the front vent panel behind the hood. Then skip the six they wont take abuse with the internals unless you build it with Australian lower end and special cylinder head.

After watching ya'll for 4 years now you still never disappoint. Ya'll have something special going on please never take it for granted .I pray God blesses all of you .
I love the look on WaWa's face when she's looking at this car. I think this one should be her's! Thank you all for everything that you do. You folks are all amazing. God bless you all.
that's very sad to hear but don't fret on it go to the shelter and have a look old departed doggo might ping you a new old one you know REMEMBER some one's trash is another one's treasure go for it🐶🐶🛼🛼
My dad had a repair shop. He was tough but ethical to a fault. He pulled me aside one day and said: schedule all the old people after 5pm, charge them 70% of list, and keep your mouth shut. So, I've just broken my promise. I replaced one of those straight 6s with a 'junk yard' engine for an elderly women. We made sure it was a low mileage, and I touched it up and shined up every tube and fitting. I wanted her to believe that this is how she should expect to be treated in the future. When the phoney gas crunch hit (tankers were backed up in port because the storage tanks were full), local politicians tried to make hay by calling all operators rip off artists. My dad had enough and decided to close the doors. While this hack politician yelled his catalogue of lies, I had to tell that old woman we were closing. She burst into tears and said to me "where will us old people go now?" My dad set a high bar. He passed in '91.
The small clear plastic box you found in the maverick that didn't have a top actually went into a aquarium to separate pregnant fish so they could have there babies without them getting eat. Mostly used for guppies. Just thought I'd share.
I would definitely like to see your bodywork skills implemented on this car. Definitely keep the paint scheme and I think this would be a great first autocross car for Wa.
The way Squeeze shows her Love for Mom reminds me of how I felt and still do for my recently deceased 94 yr Mom RIP J.R L. I also had a Grabber ran great was my daily driver ! Bourbon Vienna's 😊
Hello Josh & Tosh & the children wow the cars in amazing condition after being parked for 30 years outdoors nice looking car another project for your family to work on ,I wish after you have got it going I would like you to fully restore it to it's original condition take it to car shows and win loads of prizes I guess ut takes lots of money for that to be achieved .I will follow your progress on this project.
My first car was my grandmother's 1970 Ford Maverick I inherited when I was in High School , around 1979 1980. Loved that car and even put in a 302 in it with my Dad's help. Mr. Gasket Shackle lift in the back with Lakewood traction bars and Hijacker air shocks so I could put way too big tires under the back. This brought back so many memories for me. Thank you and your awesome family!
I love those old Mavericks. Wa is clearly in love with that car. It would be an awesome father-daughter video series for you and Wa to fix it up together.
I’ll take it! you are living the dream SleeperDude & Family I am honored to be along for the ride & support Y’all anyway I can. I appreciate all of the video content. Ralphies Art for My Grandsons & squeezes paintings for my granddaughters. I’m bound to get an original sketch from the Wawa eventually Lord willing.😂. So good to see you folks
I would love to see you all turbo a 300 6 cyl. I had one and when i took it to the scrap yard it had 368,000 miles on it and didn't burn a drop of oil .You couldn't kill that thing!! It was in a Econoline van. LOVED that engine and always wanted to turbo one.. I'm with Ralphy !! TURBO EVERYTHING !!
I had a 1974 Maverick with a 170cid 6cyl. engine, C4 transmission, 4 door. I switched the engine to a 250cid 6cyd engine from a Fairmont and I could squeal the tires through all 3 gears. Painted it deep forest green, had a tan interior. It was a very good, reliable car for the 4 years I had it. And sold it to a nice old man who kept it going for another 10 years. I used to change his oil and filter for him every 3 to 4 thousand miles just because I liked him and the car. I think he put, at least, 16,000 miles on it before he passed away at age 85. His daughter got the car after that and I never saw it again. Great cars if you keep them maintained. I just remembered as a saw the steering wheel in there, I replaced mine with one from a '67 Mustang that I got for $20 at a yard sale, wood around the outside, rally sport type. Very cool. Oh yeah, I sold the car for $1500 in 1986
With yourself having the Ford Falcon about where you want it, say for the issue at Ford Fest, might I suggest that you and WaWa get the Maverick Grabber up and running for her for Ford Fest next year, and you all can have a Daddy Daughter competition in the class you were this year. Just to see how it would go, I think it would fun to see and great content leading up to the actual event. I know for sure you wouldn't put her in a car that isn't safe. It is just an idea for the future is all. Great content as always again Sleeperdude and Family!!!
I vote make the Grabber WaWa's racecar. WaWa works so hard in the shop and she's so talented and smart I would love to see her get into the driving part of your channel. Thank you and the whole family, even Bad Daddy Bradie for the great videos truly the highlight of my week.

Over the years i have been watching your Excellent and Professional Film's of not just Rescuing many vehicles, but seeing this Incredible Family having such Love and really a Special Thoughtfulness about each other. You really are the most Gorgeous and World Wide Popular Family that I and all of your Subscribers Love from the Heart. I always Enjoy seeing your video's and seeing the Rapport between each Family member. I have recieved my T-Shirts that i had ordered. Wa Wa's and Ralphies personal printed Design's. We had a 74 Maverick4 door in our family back in the 70's. There's not many of them left. You have a classic. I would like to see it in it's originality.
Sleeperdude Family, love the Maverick Grabber project. This car is a vehicle that can be made into a great sleeper or just a plain daily driver. Love the channel, and all thr family values.😊
Great little Maverick project! Much less rust than I expected. My first date with my wife of 46 years was in a 72 Maverick. I would put a 4 barrel Offenhauser manifold with a header and a Sniper fuel injection system.
Good evening SleerDude family. This car has WaWa written all over it. Perfect to introduce her to the FordFest community in this. Hopefully you can find the perfect Jeep for Squeez. Keep up the great work Ralphie with dem dimes. God Bless Y’all!
I love the videos. For me, it's all the love and closeness of your family. I love the cars too, but I notice the love and affection you all share. I wish the best for all of your family. Thank you for the joy you bring to my life. See you later.
My grandparents had a 1976 four door Maverick. Loved that car. I can close my eyes and I’m back in the Maverick, passenger seat with Grams, it’s summer break circa: 1979 heading to town to run her errands. I miss those days. I hope that’s the kind of happiness that’s waiting in heaven. 🙏🏻
They also started using recycled steel before the process was perfected. I saw a 71 Chevy pickup whose bed needed replacing after a year. There were other QC problems: one Ford van was missing a rod and piston. It's as though they didn't want us to buy products anymore. This was in upstate NY, where salting roads is malicious. I suppose all those QC fails left the pool a long time ago.
1 million years ago, my fiance had the exact same Maverick (year, color, Grabber, everything). The engine caught fire in the Frugals Burger drive through, I'll never forget that day. She used the insurance to buy a '77 Oldsmobile Omega with a 350 Rocket. That was a fast car off the line sleeper. PS.Wa's " Doin' Donuts" shirt is great.
Nothing better after working on Saturday than sitting back watching sleeperdude whilst working on my tribute to your gremlin, in 1/24th scale of course. Awesome video!!!!!!!!!!
Inline 6, Turbo, change up the carb, after market exhaust, polish the ports, bigger cam. Just a start :) But those wheels actually look good on there. Lower by 3' in the front as you said. But I'm with Wawa on this one. That's a good looking car, perfect color! My favorite color!
I intended to make a sleeper. It got away from me. At a traffic light, roller cam making the fenders dance, a cop stopped all traffic, pulled out his ticket pad, and walked over to me. He 'softened as he got close (maybe my red face), put away the pad, and said "Get that thing out of town." Closest I ever got to a ticket while NOT moving.
I would love to have that maverick my brother had given me back in the early 90s. It was the 2-tone red on black 3 on the tree, but the transmission clutch was out . At that age in my life, I didn't have enough know-how and got rid of it. Today, I would have known I could fix it all.
Let Wawa buy it and make it her first race car! I saw her eyes and the look she gave when you said it could be her first race car was unmistakably lots of love for that idea!
Man i just adore how you let the animals do what they want, Rocky in the car and stuff “ don’t eat the seat!” 🤣 talk about our animals being part of the family !!!! You guys are all so awesome,, i wish you all the success possible, you so deserve it 😍😻🐶🐈⬛🐐🐖🫏🐴🐢🦘❤❤❤
I was born in 1964, I love the old Mavericks and Mustangs of the 1970's! I had a 1970 Mustang Grandi and my sister had the 1970 Mustang with he 4 speed, we both had 302's I love all of that!
YEAH BUDDY I WAS LIKE NO WAY when I seen the blue front end of the maverick :)!!!!!! So it is making a come back I have been wanting to see this day since you pulled it out of the hills with eyes mountains lol getting ready to watch there is nothing better then a sleeper dude day thank you guys all for what you give to all your fans.:) god bless you all and the little animals also your family rocks josh from John and Jen in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania ❤️
SLEEPERDUDE SATURDAY..... Best day for a sleeperdude video. My birthday is tomorrow, so I'm stoked for a great video today, and a happy weekend. Blessings to you and your family always.......
I would keep the 6 cyl because there are not very many 6 cyl left anymore. Most people put a 8 in it and customize it. But keep it stock. Restore the paint it's a cool car and rare the way it is. Your family are down to earth good old American people. We love you. May the Lord bless you!
Thanks for slipping a clean up video for old times’ sake. I’ll echo some of the others comments about doing the rust repair on this one. It would be a great learning experience for the kids and for your viewers
The thumb with WAWA holding her nose...😅 yall make my day!! Your a terrific fun family! Thank you for keeping me company these long winters up north.-🤗
I had a '76 Mercury Comet - The fancy version of the Maverick. You could have a picnic on those bumpers! We fit eight high school students in that car with the bench seats and ran over someone's 4x4 mail box post leaving a party with no damage to the car.
I had a 1971 Ford Maverick in high school. Das got it fir my brother and I ro share. It was a White, 6 cylinder, with three on the tree. When it was cold it would buck and stall until it warmed up. My brother got rear ended in it. Dad just pocketted the insurance money. I took it on myself to repair it. Both rear quarter panels were buckled. I beat them back into place. Bondo filled in the hole from moving those panels back to shape. Sanded it down, went back and filled the pin holes and sanded it again with a block. Rattle can primer, followed by white ford paint from a local body shop. I didn't apply clear coat. A year later ir srarted rusting those tear body panels. There was a lot i didn't know back in 1977.
@ been watching y’all’s channel for about a year now and I love it. It’s made me better at taking care of my old truck. Keep doing what you do brother. I’m excited to see what the future holds for you and your family.
It's a '73....of course it's gonna be a wonderful car! Best year EVER cause that's when I came along! 😁 As always, thanks so much for sharing your adventures and family with us! God bless! ~ Scott 💙🙏🏼 Something I just remembered but a friend who lived in the neighborhood that I've been friends with since we were around 5yo had a 73-74 Mercury Comet GT that his grandfather gave him that, as far as I recall, was fairly immaculate and thought it was pretty impressive with ALL of it's 138hp cause it did a mean one wheel peel of a burnout. Don't know whatever became of the thing but I'd surely love to have it now myself! I need to holler at him and find out. I don't remember if he traded it in on something, wrecked it or what 🤔 Just got me 4 cans of the Bourbon BBQ Vienna Sausages today and I crush Ritz crackers in the leftover juice.... no waste ya know! 😉
Great find! Man your children are growing up, fast! We have been working all around East TN and West NC with our drone business and just helping any way we can! Glad you guys were safe! 🙏🙏🙏
Its adorable. Love the Blue color Needs a set of old time Cragers rims on it bigg’ems on the back smaller in front. Be exciting to see what the Sleeperdude comes up with for it. It’s a bout time “Rocky” came to work instead of sleeking it up with the women 🐐 😂😂😂. Love the new shirt and hoodies. Gonna be a good minute for it can get one. Hurricane Miltons burnt my spending for a bit 😭 Fortunately i have my babies Kitty’s🐈🐈 and most of my home left. Electric to watch these videos. Thanks for the time away from my problems to enjoy this. Until next video, sending many Blessings to you and your family
You could have totally had one of those kids vacuuming while you were doing something with your great talent but then again your kids are talented also. It looks like you're having fun exploring while you're vacuuming anyway. Love the channel and loving this episode. My first car was a 73 Mercury Comet GT. I now have two Maverick Grabbers and three regular Mavericks
Love the old Mavericks! Fun video and it cleaned up nicely inside. Imagine what it must have been like when new. Funny references to "Would you just look at that" 😂. Enjoy the farm animal clips as always. Looking forward to Maverick updates!
My uncle had a maverick but his was brown and white. He had a CB radio in it too. I remember riding in it as a kid . He was a bartender and he broke his leg jumping over the bar. Long story short all his CB buddies heard about it and came to visit him at my grandparents house. You need to install a CB radio in this car. My saturdays are fun because of you and yiur family.
Nice Save, get the inline 6 running, brakes done , fuel, electrical, rock them hoops and casings, throw a cherrybomb glasspack on it and road ripper down the road. It's a Neat car and the two tone blue and white. I like it 👍 👍
Please please please fully build that inline six guys😭😭😭😭 Im talking forged pistons, ARP hardware, crankshaft turned, bigger diameter valves, individual throttle bodies with custom intake feul injected and a huge turbo. Run it all on a terminator X with the cleanest install. Then make a series on this car alone. This would be a neat way to show how far you've come since the first maverick. Love the content guys keep up the good work
I had a 73 Maverick Grabber the same color as yours. It was a Georgia car with factory air, a 302 with the grabber hood. My wife and I met because of this car. It's a great story.
I'm with Wawa on this sleepdude family revival . It's truly a one time in a lifetime jewel. Wow I'm blown away with your knowledge josh". My question is - "is it possible to replace pistons while block is inside vehicle. I don't have an engine puller, nor an engine stand. Completely in a jam... Love to see more, yeah ralphie turbo 🤔.
Our new merchandise is available at thesleeperdude.com
Yay my favorite youtubers look forward to Saturday just for my sleeperdude videos
We had a 1975 4 door Maverick 302 V8 3 speed on the tree. That car was invincible!!! It was Green with Green Interior. I would love to have that car today, it was a great experience to drive.
Leave the vacuuming to wawa she does the best job off all of you
Do all the metal repair and paint the front vent panel behind the hood. Then skip the six they wont take abuse with the internals unless you build it with Australian lower end and special cylinder head.
Hay guys
I took my driver's test in a 1970 Maverick back in 1985.
The gas pedal was off and the test instructor was going to deny me, from taking the test.
I found the pedal and a pencil. Threaded the pencil through the throttle shaft and the pedal, and snapped the pencil off.
I think the instructor was impressed with my ingenuity and allowed me to take the test.
He told my mother, (who owned the Maverick) he's better prepared to deal with the N.J. traffic on the roads than 90% of drivers. And granted me my license.
I think you're instilling the same self sufficiency that my parents instilled in me. God bless you and yours!
After watching ya'll for 4 years now you still never disappoint. Ya'll have something special going on please never take it for granted .I pray God blesses all of you .
Thank you
Wawa offered to buy it. Help her build a mean turbo 6 Grabber with nice bodywork and paint. Thanks for posting.
I love the look on WaWa's face when she's looking at this car. I think this one should be her's! Thank you all for everything that you do. You folks are all amazing. God bless you all.
You can definitely see she would love to own that maverick
Could be Wawas track car to run with dad. Sounded like she wanted to run the autocross if she could of at ford fest
I agree that should be Wawa’s track car.
Marge is sooo supportive of you , and all the kids, LOVE her!!!
Yea she is
I just got home from putting one of my doggies to sleep so a sleeperdude video is much needed right now. ❤
Hate to hear that

We just lost a cat.
Sorry to hear. I've had to do it and feel your pains.
Aww man. I’m so sorry
I think it would be awesome to see the rust repair and make it look nice again and the turbo straight 6.
I love the look of this car, it deserves to be saved with a genuine repair of the panels
Your TH-cam channel is amazing.I don't understand why it's not at least 500000 subs.Come on , people subscribe to this guy.
Thank you

He 'softened as he got close (maybe my red face), put away the pad, and said "Get that thing out of town." Closest I ever got to a ticket while NOT moving.
I would love to have that maverick my brother had given me back in the early 90s. It was the 2-tone red on black 3 on the tree, but the transmission clutch was out . At that age in my life, I didn't have enough know-how and got rid of it. Today, I would have known I could fix it all.
Yeah, we all have cars we wish we could have back.
Let Wawa buy it and make it her first race car! I saw her eyes and the look she gave when you said it could be her first race car was unmistakably lots of love for that idea!
Good idea
Track day with dad!
It's good to see another saved, thank you family!
Thanks for watching

SLEEPERDUDE SATURDAY.....
Best day for a sleeperdude video. My birthday is tomorrow, so I'm stoked for a great video today, and a happy weekend. Blessings to you and your family always.......
Hey happy birthday 🎉🎊🎁🎈
@@Sleeperdude The 14 th was my 72 b day.
Thank you
@@donaldk.macbaird5248 ....happy belated birthday
I would keep the 6 cyl because there are not very many 6 cyl left anymore. Most people put a 8 in it and customize it. But keep it stock. Restore the paint it's a cool car and rare the way it is. Your family are down to earth good old American people. We love you. May the Lord bless you!
Thanks for slipping a clean up video for old times’ sake.
I’ll echo some of the others comments about doing the rust repair on this one. It would be a great learning experience for the kids and for your viewers
Thanks!
Thank you for your generosity it really helps
Try a sparkplug socket on that rear lug nut. The thinner wall on the socket may do the trick.😊
The thumb with WAWA holding her nose...😅 yall make my day!! Your a terrific fun family! Thank you for keeping me company these long winters up north.-🤗
Thanks for watching
Your sleeperdude merch is impeccable ❤
Glad you think so!
I had a '76 Mercury Comet - The fancy version of the Maverick. You could have a picnic on those bumpers! We fit eight high school students in that car with the bench seats and ran over someone's 4x4 mail box post leaving a party with no damage to the car.
I took my driving test in a '72 Maverick. Amazing memories.
Very cool
I like them Maverick nice car My uncle had one in 1980 in red Pennsylvania Hector 😄👍👍
Very nice
Had a Orange and white 302 four speed 1974 comet Gt
Very cool
Great find
Thank you. We appreciate your generosity
i will vote for it to be a wawa complete rebuild car
Your wife should be Mother of the Year because she is so good with your children and all the fun animals you have.
I think that roll of sticky stuff under back window was intended to patch up that falling headliner. That backseat shined up amazing 👍👍
Turbo that 6! I love your channel and so does my wife. God bless you 🙏
That nova wagon would be a bad ass drag car man
Yes!!!
The Maverick is one of the better cars ever produced by Ford. They were well-made and dependable.
Yes!!
The sticky roll is roof ice shield. It looks like they used it to line the trunk floor.
Ok thanks
“Nothing in the ashtray. Maybe this isn’t your family.” 😂
Glad you liked it
@ been watching y’all’s channel for about a year now and I love it. It’s made me better at taking care of my old truck. Keep doing what you do brother. I’m excited to see what the future holds for you and your family.
Awesome Grabber!!!
Thank you
I have a soft spot for Maverick’s, My first car 50 years ago was a 71 Maverick . Great memories.
Very cool thank you
🗣Another great Saturday 👌with the 👏 Sleeper Dude Team 🤦running another circus on wheels👍 ✔️
Exactly
🎉that your race car wawa
It would be interesting to see if it likes a Turbo.
Some bodywork also it’s great to see the rust turned into good steel.
Yes!!
I like the car and the Colour, If you put the car back on the road Wawa would want to drive it to school every day, great video keep it up.
Absolutely
Thank ya'll for the video! Just started it,
Hope you enjoy it!
My brother in law used to have a '72 Maverick back in the day. This brings back memories. Great work getting her cleaned up. Also, LOVE the goat!
Tell Wa when she washes/pressure washes a car the proper way is to start from the roof and work your way down. Gravity is your friend.
Ok will do
Safety glasses too....ask me why I suggest this. You only get two eyes when you start....keep them forever !
I always figured it was for filling purposes. That way we can see the drastic change. Yet i do agree, should be wasting from the top down
It's a '73....of course it's gonna be a wonderful car! Best year EVER cause that's when I came along! 😁 As always, thanks so much for sharing your adventures and family with us! God bless! ~ Scott 💙🙏🏼
Something I just remembered but a friend who lived in the neighborhood that I've been friends with since we were around 5yo had a 73-74 Mercury Comet GT that his grandfather gave him that, as far as I recall, was fairly immaculate and thought it was pretty impressive with ALL of it's 138hp cause it did a mean one wheel peel of a burnout. Don't know whatever became of the thing but I'd surely love to have it now myself! I need to holler at him and find out. I don't remember if he traded it in on something, wrecked it or what 🤔
Just got me 4 cans of the Bourbon BBQ Vienna Sausages today and I crush Ritz crackers in the leftover juice.... no waste ya know! 😉
Thank you
You could have totally had one of those kids vacuuming while you were doing something with your great talent but then again your kids are talented also.
Glad you enjoyed it
Bedankt
Thank you for your generosity
I always laugh when Sleeperdude says “come on”.
When WaWa said it in this video, I about lost it!! Too funny. These kids are awesome!!
I like it 👍 👍
Yaaaay!!! Finally a will it run. A show for us poor people ❤
My sincerest condolences on the loss of your baby now 3 of mine over the years will have a new friend
Please please please fully build that inline six guys😭😭😭😭
Im talking forged pistons, ARP hardware, crankshaft turned, bigger diameter valves, individual throttle bodies with custom intake feul injected and a huge turbo.
The Maverick is a keeper Josh. Great video guys!
Thank you
I'm with Wawa on this sleepdude family revival .
