    I've been using the cheap one from Amazon for a couple of years now. The bottle is made of some hard plastic that breaks easily the first time you drop it. Not really a problem though, because you can use any 32 oz spray bottle to replace it - same threads. I bought a 2nd one just to have multiple soaps/chemical options depending on the use.

    • @aaronallen124
      @aaronallen124 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ordered a pack of just bottles. Only the one that came with the gun broke after 4-5 months. Another 4-5 months later and the gun broke. Time to order another but I'll order several and keep 2 then sell the rest for like double the price.

  • @SIat
    @SIat 6 ปีที่แล้ว +197

    Don’t fall for any of Chemical Guys or Adams crap when they try to sell you that $12 one for $80+. Literally the only difference is they just put their sticker on them and charge a premium, its the EXACT SAME. I bought a cheap one and did the 1.1mm orifice mod and it foams the same if not better than those mtm ones. If you have a pressure washer that isn’t as powerful just get the cheap one and do the orifice mod and you’ll get insane amounts of foam. Save yourself a weeks worth of grocery’s

    • @ZakDeckich
      @ZakDeckich 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      whats the orifice mod?

    • @SIat
      @SIat 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Zak Deckich so basically the only difference between a $90 foam cannon and a $10 one is a little orifice inside the sprayer of the foam cannon. The smaller the orifice, the more foam gets produced. You can get them for like $7 on Amazon and all you need to install it is like pliers and a flat head screw driver. Look it up on TH-cam there’s several good videos on it

    • @franciscogerardo021
      @franciscogerardo021 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Zak Deckich i would Google it to see what orifice is best for your pressure washer, going the smallest isn’t always the best from experience. Me and my brother got one that is best suited for our pressure washer and it foamed up way better than the smaller one. Best choice Is find out how strong your pressure washer is and find out what’s the best size for that much pressure 👍🏻

    I have had an amazon foam cannon for like two years now and it's still going strong. Maintenance washes once a week and washing friends cars every once in a while. I must have gone through four or five cheap no-name foam guns before splurging on a pricy Italian one. The cheaply made ones either don't work well out-of-the-box, or they fail at the most inconvenient time without warning. Once, I came back to find my shelf dripping with liquid soap because the reservoir had developed a crack (???) while sitting unused. That was the last straw for me. My MTM is 2 years old and still works like new.

    I think your assessment is on point. I think the manufacturer would argue theirs is better made - and that would likely prove true. However, how many people would uncover that truth...that's at the heart of the matter. I just threw down on the MTM because of a bad experience with a standard pressure washer. As usual, you get what you pay for. If it's not inconvenient when the cheap one fails, keep on re-upping...

    Good video for those unsure which one will be best for their needs. I have cheap ones and the MTM PF22... for me quality wins. It's just a better experience with the MTM. Off topic here Looks like a a lot of space around there. Why park in front of the fire hydrant? That's irresponsible. I know we like to get in and out no matter but those risks just aren't worth it to me. Fines, getting stuck, possibly being the reason the FD can't do their job. Just a thought.

    I haven't jumped onto the foam cannon band wagon...partly because I don't wanna have to break out a pressure washer EVERY time I wanna wash my cars. I've got a question though. It seems like it's a bad idea to spray foam mixed with water onto a dry car vs doing it the way I've been doing for years which is garden hose the whole car, bucket with a grit guard in the button and a good ol wash mitt. I'm not seeing the perk of foam other than it looks kinda cool. Opinion?

    • @chmalus
      @chmalus 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Foaming the car loosens the dirt and all the filth structure, due to making surface tension smaller. It's like prewashing. You just have less dust and smaller particles which can scratch the car during hand washing. But you should use it bottom to top ways, not like the guy on the video. ;)

    • @OllyJC
      @OllyJC 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also shouldn't be scrubbing it after foaming. The way it's being used here is not the intention of a foam cannon. Wet, foam, spray and then mitt scrub.

    • @aaoaaa
      @aaoaaa 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First you should rinse the car with pressure washer, foam it, let it dwell for 10m, then rinse it, then use the buckets method/mitt

      Chris Robbins.....How much do u charge for each car? 3-5 cars a week doesn't sound like alot but if u make decent money off it then it makes perfect sense? I'm just asking cuz I'm almost ready to get my Auto detailing business up and running

    • @drgoutbreak7934

      Ciddyslicka Vasquez it all depends on whats getting done just a exterior wash and interior vacuum depending on the condition will be 50 wash claybar wax and sealant depending on the size of the car will run 250 for cars or 300 for trucks and than ceramic coatings ill charge over a grand just because the amount of time it takes to do it perfect honestly i focus mostly on performance cars i don’t really do just random kia’s and cars like that

    I bought the cheap foam cannon from amazon and swapped the orifice but it was still runny. I ended up getting the mtm pf22 foam cannon and there was a huge difference because I finally got the thick shaving cream foam. Both get the job done so it honestly really doesn’t matter but the mtm is made out of stainless steel and the cheap one is made out of brass. I just got the better one for marketing because customers love seeing that thicc foam and their story posts help attract more customers.

    I believe it's no difference if you have a gas powered pressure washer but if it's electric the mtm will definitely help produce more suds. I have a cheap one and the MTM PF-22 and changed out the orifice to a 1.1on both and now get shaving cream like suds with the MTM while the cheap one produces watery runny suds. That's my experience.
