Under 80k and under 100k? I guess that’s consider the cheaper end now. And the winning car is well over 100k. Not going to see many of these getting around the streets
Don't get it. A vehicle of this size when the greenie's whinge about big heavy car's in the city. This weighs more than my 4WD. The tyres to replace about $500 each. And how long to charge at home using a standard wall plug.
I think you're getting a bunch of issues conflated here. This EV is more than likely greener than your less-heavy 4WD (I"m assuming it's ICE). Vehicle bulk and weight around the city is another issue - and a valid one at that. There's also no doubt that a more compact, lightweight electric vehicle would also be more environmentally friendly.
We think performance cars deserve special attention, and where Drive Car of the Year has a focus on value, running costs, and features, performance cars deserve to be assessed a little differently so we're aiming to do something more performance oriented later in the year.
🤣 You settled for a crappy dunnydore, an absolute heap of 💩 and your saying you Can’t find anything to replace it. Literally throw a dart, most things available today are better built than that 😂
One aspect i think was missed was whilst the EV9 appears to functionally impressive, the cheapest model is $110K driveaway in NSW. Compare that to say a comparable ICE car, Kluger Grande which is $79K. For me, a more impressive achievement is the MG4 which was $38K, whilst the NSW rebate was around. At that price, it is around the same price as an ICE Toyota Corolla Hybrid. Great achievement to make an EV comparable in price to an ICE
Ioniq 6 was a finalist in our Best Urban Electric Vehicle under $100K segment - but was ineligible for the overall win due to its segment being topped by the Tesla Model 3. Why would you even consider this EV rubbish a family SUV that the family can't go away with a caravan or boat or horse float because you can't tow anything with it not practical at all
Let’s see what the cars will be delivered the most in 2024. Don’t believe that would be Kia ev9 😂
That may be the case, but we aim to reward the most-deserving car, not the best-selling.
$105k family friendly... What drugs are you on

There's categories for cars under $30K, and under $50K too. The Aussie market is broad so we aim to cover as much of it as we can.
EVs lose more value when you drive compared to a ICE car out of the showroom, and even more so due to it being a Kia.

I hope Kia's aren't going to adopt this design more broadly. It is next level ugly.
Not 1 mention of best driver's car, performance car or sports car?

Still haven't found anything good enough to replace my 2016 VFll Commodore.

Loving your impressive watch collection Trent 👍
He's happy you mentioned it :)
The colours are all so bland. I guess that’s all people buy now.
and what's your car colour?
It always looks good I'd buy a red car like it for a month and then wish I got black or silver 🤣
110K for a Kia. What a joke!!
And BYD Seal?
Defeated by Tesla Model 3 in its category.
hey. please include sports car segment too. thankyou
I am from Nigeria,Can I get one as gift ?

Kluger is smaller, though. The comparable model to EV9 in terms of size would have been Toyota Land Cruise, which is more expensive.
Save money and buy the sister car, Palisade. We don't get the brother, Telluride.
Musso 👌
The shape and design of this car resembles Toyota Rukus
Wow what an ugly looking car
KIA!
Ioniq 6 surely has to be in there with the world car of the year awards?

@@Drivecomau wow and disappointing. my wife refused to drive the Tesla due to the phantom braking. One of the reasons I got rid of it.
And in the real world for cars under $50k - that got the deposit is:
BYD Dynamic Seal.
