Think this maybe the first time I have ever seen a head being fitted for a shaft instead of the traditional approach!, this is why TXG are the best around.......

Since I play m5 I always rooted for Matty to put it in the bag too.... can’t argue with the current lst and ventus black setup, but whenever Matt hits m5 he destroys the ball and pretty darn accurate

Just love the look of that KBS Driver shaft, it looks stunning in Red & Black!!!!
If it feels as good as the graphite shafts that I have in my Irons, they will have a real Winner on their hands!

I can relate. I played with the Cobra F9 with Tour Ad shaft for 10 months without knowing that the swing weight was D6.5. I had good days and some really terrible games playing with it. Had it corrected to D3.5 and the difference is night and day for me.

    Perfectly said Matt (+Ian) .......
My quest in the last six years was to find the driver head and shaft flex-stiffness combo that produces a swing weight that allows me to swing&strike my best........ I'm close now, but geez I wish I lived next door to your studio!!...... Save time and money and all......

A follow up on this Video/ Shaft.
I have Paired this with the Corba LTDX 9° Head and it's a Monster.
    I use the Category 5 7X
I went for Sub 275 low high spinning balls when using Ventus Blue and Black 6 and 7 X
To a Higher Launch at about 16/18° and Spin right around 2100RPM
Ball is Traveling on Average 280 on the Fly with some of my bigger shots in the Upper 290+ range.
I really enjoy these videos and in Information I receive from them.
Keep up the good work guys.

Wow. That was insightful to physically see getting the swing weight correct and how it instantly righted the ship! Not surprised that KBS made a good offering out of the gate. I think KBS will be to wood shafts what Mizuno and Srixon are to drivers...everyone knows them for the irons and get often overlooked. I game the KBS Prototype in my hybrid and love it as well as the $-Taper in my irons. GREAT REVIEW!

Hi Guys, I'm pretty new to the channel, but as someone who's preparing to get fitted after lessons this channel is amazing. I feel like I'm going to have so much more going into the fitting in December. A couple things I will ask, could y'all do a video on the performance difference between a game improvement iron and a driving iron of the same loft? Also could y'all do some Ben Hogan testing?

  • @adammackay399

It would be cool if you guys pick a popular shaft as a baseline and compare these lesser known shafts to something we may have already tried. For instance, I play the Tor AD DI 6x, but it's a bit spinny for me. I don't have the luxury of having a place near me that has hundreds of shafts to try, so when I buy a new shaft I have to base it on reviews and comparisons to other shafts I've tried.

Not exactly about this video but I really noticed it for this some reason in this video. It looks like Matty has a great weight transfer though his swing. Would it be possible to do a video with Matty hitting balls while standing on a pressure plate or something similar and talk about how weight transfer would effect a fitting? Maybe too much about teaching/instruction (bring Larry in for a video!) but would be an interesting video.

Another great video guys. Ian I have a quick question, In your opinion is there a big difference between the KBS C Taper 120 Stiff and the DG 120 X100. I launch the ball very high with a lot of spin with my 120 X100 and was thinking to change to C Taper. I have an aggressive transition and tend to miss as many left as i do right, I saw that in another video you said C Taper is great for dispersion, also if I switch to C taper what shaft do you thing would be a good choice for my wedges. Thanks Ian your a legend :)

Just found your vids. Love them.
Club fitting here in Aus SUCKS! We have Drummond golf that uses 'My Swing' tech, but very limited equip. Some other fitters but they are manufacturer biased and we have demo nights but they are crowded and not personalised. I had to essentially do my own club fitting by trialling every club on the market that was suited to my swing (and then some that weren't) and what ever shafts I could get my hands on that matched the fitting heads. Was a long painful process but I think worth it in the end.
Would LOVE to try a KBS shaft in my driver (Currently using a Matrix Red Tie 55g S), as I use the KBS C-Taper Lite S in my irons and love them, but I doubt anyone would have the range or knowledge that you have.
What I would have given to be fitted out by you.
