    Another great one!!! maybe TXG can make a series on how to make your 45.75" driver to play at 44.75", tipping and adding weight to get a desired swing weight.

    Hey, brilliant again.
    I tried the tensei Orange 60g stiff with the CALLAWAY Epic flash and felt I couldn't square the club face up and always had this push fade. Just felt as if I couldn't control it.
    Stuck in the tensei Blue and immediately felt as if I had loaded the head with weight. More a driving ball and a soft draw or straight.
    It was like I knew where the club head was with the blue but had no idea with the orange.
    Brilliant swing again Matty smooth!!! Love the big follow through finishing your swing is something I'm trying to work on over the winter. 👍👍👍👍 first class boys

    Well guys because of your review I've now got the best driver shaft ever in my driver ( VA Vylyn 55 gram stiff ), and this winter I'm going to put a couple Raijin hybrids shafts in my 24 and 19 degree hybrids. This new counter balanced shaft might not be for me, but I'm going to keep my eye out for further reviews on it. Keep it up, love the reviews.

    Hi -
    First off, let me say, your videos on youtube are the best in the industry (Ian and Matt, you guys are great). I truly enjoy the insights you present. I wish you guys had a branch in Chicago!
    Given that you guys did extensive testing of the VA Composites Nemesys, I was hoping you might be able to help me out. I currently game the Ping G410 LST 9.0 degree. I play out of Olympia Fields in Chicago and my handicap index ranges from 5-6 at any given time.
    I have been playing my trusty Graphite Design Tour AD DI6 (stiff flex in 45 inches) in the G410 LST. I have played a little bit with the Tensei CK Orange (stiff flex in 45.25 inches) that came with the driver. I have found that when I hit it on the screws, the Tensei CK Orange gives me better distance, but the overall dispersion of the GD AD DI6 has been more consistent out on the course. For reference, I am using the stock 12 gram weight that came with the driver.
    After watching your video from Dec-19 I am considering taking a flyer on the VA Composites Nemesys (65 stiff flex?).
    Was hoping you might be kind enough to give me your thoughts on the 3 shafts and how the Nemesys might compare?
    Thank you for your time!

    Note when getting future fit at TXG the correct answer to Should you try counter balanced driver shaft is ... “Ah yeah sure .... this will make me hit like Matty right?” However up till now counter balance totally meant when I go to pay at the counter on the way out it balances with my budget. Just buy it Matty and way to steal Pat Reon’s strike of the year! 👍

    I took a leap of faith and bought the 65x shaft considering I have had success with other CB shafts for my Ping G410. Glad I did, so smooth and raised my ball speed roughly 3-4 mph while adding a 4 gram heavier weight in the head but still maintaining my swing speed and spin characteristics. But I was worried at first, it felt soft or a little whippy wagging it in my hands. I just don't understand how it works so good feeling so soft for my SS.

I'm between 5 - 10 yards behind Matt average drive 325-330's I also play the G410 with upgrade 60X 'Tour shaft" and was about to pull the trigger on the Ventus black ...although I normally like a lighter butt feel an more head feel ..I do have a tendency to move the in as well maybe more meat in the handle might help keep clean the flight up an little more .. looking forward to that shaft test

      The point isn't for you to go out and buy this shaft though, the point is for you to get fitted for a shaft that works for your swing. Just because Matty was hitting it accurately doesn't mean I or you or who ever would hit it accurately with the same setup.

    • @claytontylergolf6081
      @claytontylergolf6081 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Chris Caruso I get that, but it would be nice to know retail prices of some of these. Or maybe know what some characteristics of some low and mid range shafts are vs stock shafts. Not all of us that love golf can afford $400-$600 shafts.

      If I've learned anything from this channel it is to get a quality fitting. If you are upfront with your fitter about your price concerns they should be able to offer you product within your budget. If you have a modern adjustable head you might be able to retro-fit your old head with a new shaft to save you some $.

    Hey TXG, I love the work you guys do. I currently just put a nunchuk shaft in my titleist 917 d3. It is a 104 gram shaft and i believe those are counterbalanced (could be wrong). I was feeling the same thing Matt was with feeling that “kick” through impact and ball flight and speed stayed relativelly the same and much tighter dispersion and slightly less spin (2200 ish). Was having a lot of face rotation through impact with my diamana white 70x. I know the nunchuk is an older shaft and not really talked about, i would be curious though if you guys could give that a whirl in your testing or if you have already? Keep up the great work, i hope to be able to make it down to your studio one day!

    Tungsten prepreg is the same tech used in the Tensei Pro Orange which is intended to bring a higher balance point to a softer handled shaft, which would not normally have a higher balance point like a stiffer handled shaft would naturally have. I would be curious what the EI profile of this one looks like.

    I currently play the F9 with the fuji Pro 2.0 6x with 2x 14g weights in it and love it compared to anything else I have tried. Massive fan of counter balanced shafts. This extreme high balance point has me very interested as my miss is to turn one over every now and then.

  • @wally6193

    Ian, did you adjust the SW so they are the same for both setups? 3SW difference would take a lot of extra head weight to equalize. Let's have a look at the EI curves for these shafts, if you get them can you post them. Can you tell me where the balance point is for that driver setup?

Im not a good player and always struggled with driver but it gets me out there and dispersion is much better still hit poor shots but they are not as bad, id say to anyone give counterbalance a go.

      Ian Fraser I remember during the ultimate driver where Matt was using the ts3 in both diamana 60tx in the beginning, and switched to fuji pro 2.0 tour spec later in the bracket. It was a small difference but both dispersion circle and carry was better with the Fuji shaft.
      But that’s also with the ts3 and not the g410 so it’s probably not entirely comparable

    • @ianfrasergolf
      @ianfrasergolf 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So someone like myself with a terrible out to in, release early swing this would be a no go? I don't get how Matt still feels where the club head is on such a drastic change.

    What is the difference of having a high balance point to just using a heavier grip (eg. midsized instead of standard) on a regular shaft? Wont the added weight of a heavier grip effectively move the balance point towards the grip?
    Interested to hear your thoughts, cheers!

      it would, be you're introducing more total weight to the club which isn't always ideal

    Who's the conehead that didn't like this video ? Perhaps another shaft manufacturer ? I have a G400 with a TPT shaft and curious how this would work . Well done guys

      @clubchampionmedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TPT's are fairly low balance point so this would feel pretty different for you

    I wonder if a counterbalanced shaft would help relieve some soreness after the round?
    I can still swing a club alright but I'm getting to that age where I can get some soreness in my shoulders after the round.

      TRENT KITCH not sure CB sounds like the answer but lighter overall certainly should help, if we’re talking drivers definitely give TS1 a try.

    Can you make a basic intro video to gold fitting parameters, there’s so many parameters you guys use. It’s hard to understand.
    Eg spin, loft, counter weight, swing weight etc

    • @Professionalidi0t
      @Professionalidi0t 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spin is how much the ball spins.
      Loft is the loft angle.
      Counter weight is the weight that counters the head weight.
      Swing weight is how heavy the club feels when it's being swung.

    Any comment on the price point? Or release date?
