Another interesting thing about the dick Grayson thing the way he lands after been thrown by Batman very similar to the dead nightwing body from the first vr game. Obviously that’s one of Batmans dreams/ nightmares but it also suggests that Bruce is semi consistently thinking about the details of the night he first met dick
@@Bman32x the games a bit vague obviously and that’s a fair assumption of what the game may have meant. There are a few small details that suggest it’s not that. The biggest one being the batsuit. When you put on the batsuit it gives you the suits model number, and the suit is an older model than the knight suit meaning that VR has to happen before knight Leading to VR widely being accepted as a hallucination/ dream Batman has between city and knight. Showing jokers slow influence on Bruce’s mind getting him to add weapons to the Batmobile and trying to make him more of a killer (something that’s hinted at in knight). This would also explain why Batman doesn’t want Tim or Dicks help in knight he’s spend all this tim dreaming that he’ll break and kill them and now he’s actually breaking thanks to fear toxin and joker blood
It’s crazy respectable how much they paid attention to little lore details and care for Arkham Origins, AO Online, and AO Blackgate. Most people haven’t even played Origins (much less Blackgate and Online) as it’s seen as the black sheep of the Arkham series and isn’t even playable on modern consoles so most people wouldn’t even care or even notice if they messed with the continuity of the games.
This game makes me really hate Crane way more than Arkham Asylum and even Knight given the fact he was responsible for not creating this mess in Arkham Shadow but also creating Two Face it kinda makes the scene from Arkham Aslyum where he gets almost eaten by Croc leaving only his damage face a lot more deserving for what he did in this game. That said, Elijah Wood did an amazing job as Dr Crane (plus he sounded a lot like Dino Andrade who did Scarecrow in Arkham Aslyum.) I think he would be great as a live action Scarecrow/Crane in either DCU Batman story or more likely in Matt Reeves The Batman 2?
The funny thing is that Arkham Shadow actually doesn't paint Crane as a criminal. He's an asshole, sure, but: - All his test subjects were volunteers (he's not the one that made prisoners go missing). - Wesker was a murderer before he met Crane; Wesker wasn't even that violent when he killed Donnegan as the in-game dialog makes it clear that Donnegan was the one who attacked him for borrowing "Woody" without permission, and Wesker merely defended himself (though when Donnegan dies, Wesker panics and says it's "like last time", presumably referring to the murder that landed him in Blackgate in the first place). Before he was attacked by Donnegan, all signs pointed to Wesker actually doing well in therapy. - He didn't seem to be manipulating Dent beyond pressuring him to stay in the study. Two-Face even spoke up during one of their therapy sessions and Crane didn't realize what was happening. Crane apparently didn't even realize Dent had DID. Which is shoddy psychiatry, but not a crime. - The chemical wasn't meant to be splashed on anyone. The news broadcast later mentioned that in pure liquid form, the chemical was highly caustic, but that it was meant to be used with a nebulizer which would dilute it in the air. Nobody's face was meant to be melted. Crane was just trying to do exactly what he was being asked to do by a judge: test the witness's sanity. - Batman had to fight his "shadow", but only because he walked through the gas-filled room where Crane had been treating Wesker. Batman dosed himself. And facing his own shadow was, in fact, very therapeutic for him. When he snaps out of it, it becomes obvious that he's just been beating the shit out of Crane. - Crane can't even be blamed for TYGER's actions, as he is only put in charge of them for one night, and very loudly tells them that he really doesn't give a shit about the particulars of what they're up to, and to stop bothering him about it. Crane is an abrasive asshole, sure, and his therapy didn't help Dent... but it was experimental, which means he didn't know it would have that effect on Dent. So at this point in the timeline, he's not a criminal mastermind; just a corner-cutting quack and a bad boss.
Someone in a different video suggested the stalking figure could be Ra's Al Ghul, as he has glowing eyes, is stealthy as an assassin, and has clearly been interested in Batman since Arkham Origins.
@itsame43 If I remember correctly, Arkham origins online takes place 6 months after the events of Origins which means they SPEEDRAN Dick's training to be Robin! And I mean SPEED!
@@vanishingllama7342 I mean, look at him as a rat. He took batman head on. Took a couple of punches head on and didn't go down until he was punched through a brick wall. If anything, Batman just trained Dick to control his potential.
13:00 While I’m positive it could be Barbara Gordon beginning the Batgirl persona but I actually think the one there’s one other suspect regarding the “Second Batman” I think potentially it could be Andrea Beaumont, A.K.A The Phantasm! The ability to vanish in smoke, bullets passing through the suspect’s body all match The Phantasms skills & abilities, having been confused as Batman quite a few times in her debut as a vigilante.
I'd say it was way more awkward when the guy who trained him was the one who, essentially, caused the guy who was like a brother to kill himself. It'll be interesting to see how that gets handled.
Something interesting is that at the start of the game if you go to the bathroom there is a book in the toilet called "crime and punishment" that is a reference to a comic that features two face, they clearly took inspiration from that comic for this game's two face and they forshadowed it from the very beginning of the game!
As a lifelong Batman fan, I caught the "Joe" thing as soon as he first introduced himself. The little hints afterwards (especially during the session with Dr. Quinn) only made it that much more obvious to me. Was a pretty good reveal in the end, and I love how Bruce handled it, though I would have loved to hear a follow up conversion between him and Alfred about it.
When I saw Joe’s reaction to hearing about Bruce’s childhood in the therapy sessions in my first play through, as a joke I said out loud, “he’s the one who killed them!” And then when they revealed that he did I was shocked
Same and it's so obvious since in the comics, the man who killed Bruce's parents is Joe Chill so having a character we get close to turn out to be THE Joe Chill makes so much sense
I like the fact that “Matches” Malone was born in this game. Aside from burning the Bat signal, the burning of Shreik probably scarred him enough to use accept the nickname. Random note: Arnold Wesker has a nice bow tie. Wouldn’t be surprised if Joker likes it, too.
The shadow following you around can be anyone, but I do like the idea of Martian Manhunter... it could be: Barbara (Batgirl) The League of Assassins The court of owls The order of St. Dumas (they have some importance in Blackgate island) And a lot of people really think it is some kind of foreshadowing to the Bat demon

2:40 I interpreted this differently. I perceived the board as the GCPD fooling around and just coming up with the most unlikely candidates for Batman’s identity. None of these suggestions are serious, and the more outlandish the better. Bruce Wayne is up there with Bigfoot, Dracula, Santa Claus, and Aliens. So someone thinks the idea of Bruce Wayne being Batman is one of the dumbest possibilities out there, and got others to laugh and agree.
This makes me happy and mad at the same time they clearly put a lot of passion into this game but it being only available on meta quest makes it unavailable to so many
It was either we get it on only meta or we don’t get it at all…. Those were the only two possibilities. You can wish all you want but it was this or nothing. Us VR fans that enjoy a wireless headset deserve exclusives too. I didn’t see anybody saying it was such a travesty that Half-Life: Alyx was only on pcvr…. Shadow was perfectly created and optimized for quest 3, and thus if you want to play it, you need a quest 3. Are you also upset that you can’t use safari on an android phone? I’ve had the same phantom pain for a new Arkham game brother, but my faith was rewarded and I didn’t even have to buy a quest to play it… I already had one a while before I found out about Arkham Shadow. Why? Because there are actually some incredible VR titles on Quest that are well worth a $500 headset. I got it before there even was a $300 option. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made, the best being actually buying Arkham Shadow itself and having the opportunity to support the amazing work these devs have put in instead of just hearing about it and complaining on TH-cam.
i’d take this than the crapstorm that was SSKTJL. they respected the franchise more than the original studio 😭(and yes i’ve heard the rumor of a new Batman Arkham game being made by Rocksteady. i don’t see SS as canon but rather just an alternate Arkham universe)
Awesome to see Firefly again, especially with Crispin Freeman returning and absolutely killing it in the voice acting. Pretty much the voice I hear when reading the comics.
Anarky is still out there. He calls into a radio show hosted by Vic Sage talking about possible Rat King theories. The arkham saga always had a dark aura, you felt like you were part of a world so big, with so much dangers to face as batman. This game made me feel like that again, and Im so glad we have new arkham content after the mess SQKTJL was.
3:05-6:24 I do pray very hard that if they make another Arkham installment, It shows Dick Grayson's path to becoming Batman's first partner. His way to becoming Robin. I already have SO MANY ideas!
I really can’t believe that they included Joe Chill in the game. The very man who made Batman. I would’ve loved to see a conversation between a grown up Bruce and Joe in the game.
Two face even says these very words to Batman in Arkham knight: “you remember the mob, right? The guys who burned half our face off cuz THEY COULDNT GET TO YOU?!?!” Though I can’t justify the last bit of that sentence, I can the first bit. The mob includes falcone and his men, and at the time, “Malone” was too. And since Harvey didn’t know it was Bruce, all he saw was another piece of mob scum, thus justifying why he mistook Bruce for the mob and why Harvey thought the mob burned off his face
Great video Knerd! I missed the Grayson link watching Arkham Videos' play-through of the game, and it would make for a unique background of the first Robin. And the Joe Chill reveal and Two-Face transformation were powerful twists that add so much to the universe. The latter in particular cos now, the dialogue between Batman and Harvey in Arkham Knight hits different given that we know Batman is responsible in a very direct way for Harvey's scarring. Keep up the great work! 🙂
Not sure if it was just me, but the clear turn away from Joe after you said the story kinda put it together for me. At that point I figured with the name and everything, yeah that's definitely Joe Chill. Didn't expect him to have a crazy major part in the story, like the scene at the end, thought it might've just been an easter egg.
The funny thing about Origins i remember when the Batman identity board came up, is that I remember The Riddler in Origins, briefly speculate if Bruce was Batman only to say something like "no, that rich kid would never get his hands dirty"
The game makes reference to the Court of Owls with the audio from Gotham News as Anarky(yeah he's back) spouts out a theory involving a Gotham Illuminati group with assassins so drugged up they can't feel pain and can tank a bullet( *COUGH COUGH* "Talon" *COUGH COUGH* )
I wish they’d just stop and LEAVE the Arkham series and universe ALONE. Smh. This game and sui.c ide squad are tainting the series/universe. It had an awesome track record and they keep ruining it with these new lackluster games. they need to leave this universe alone…
One thing I like in Arkham Shadow, and which some other adaptations introduce, is the idea that Harleen Quinzel already had this element of crazy in her before she was ever Harley Quinn, and Joker coaxed that part of her out to his advantage.
I don’t think Bruce is the one who created Two-Face because in Arkham Knight after you capture him Batman says “That wasn’t my fault” referring to what happened in the courtroom, and Bruce is not one to not take the blame of what happens. I personally think Bruce went to grab the canister but Crane tried to pull his hand back not knowing Harvey was behind him which caused it to break in Harvey’s face. This would also explain why Crane seemed so nervous and immediately tried to inflict blame on Malon, and why the News said “Malon grabbed the canister and threw it at Harvey”
Yeah good call, that’s exactly what happens so your theory is correct. Slow the video down to 0.25x and you can see Bruce grab for the canister, then Crane pulls his arm back super fast with force. It comes around super fast and smashes Harvey across his face.
the detail they put in the story is great, I hope they make another vr batman or a dlc. I would purchase 100% (fun fact: depending on your health, your cape will have holes in it. Gliding while damaged and looking at your wings you will see holes in them, less health, more holes)
13:45 I’d really like the stalker to be Talon. The Court have been confirmed to exist in this universe, but it would be fun to see them in a future Arkham game
Harvey's scarring happening here is a micro retcon with all the Long Halloween references in games and those events being a Two-Face origin. With how sequel baiting this game is I really hope the next Arkham installment goes into this universe's Long Halloween, especially now that Harvey's role would be different.
Another clue about Joe Chill: later on in the game he gifts you a poster of Rita Farr, which seems very odd and random at first, but upon closer inspection you can notice that she wears a pearl necklace! Just like Martha Wayne.
How much i enjoyed seeing a cameo from bronze tiger but also that interaction with Firefly was top tier man yes this game was very much needed after SSKJL‼️‼️
Dude! U guessed it and were right as Boles was a former Tyger Guard! :O Also didnt know that could be Dick Grayson as a member of the Rats :O Interesting to have him possibly be in a criminal group too and is much older here too compared to how young he was in the comics :)
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel I love this video and channel Thanks you for your video and channel I love Batman Arkham all games franchise
13:17 I feel like bat-mite would make the most sense since he seems to be stalking Batman thus he probably knew his identity, though Talon would also make sense if the court of Owl figured out who Batman was... or I guess if they just looked in Commissioner Gordon's office and eliminated all the none sensible theories
I am going to take a swing and say that the unknown figure is the Spectre. It makes sense if a ghost like figure comes for Bruce to see if he will become an agent of vengeance
The Two-Face origin was so lackluster though! Anyone that gets acid to the face would be screaming and rolling on the ground uncontrollably. Not only that, but it just out of left field, seeing that in Asylum, City and Knight Batman has no remorse at all what happened to Harvey. That would hunt Bruce if he had anything to do with what happened to him. That was silly to have Bruce involved, it should have been just some random Falcone thug or even Boles.
I don't know for a person who had acid thrown at their face, he reacted pretty realistic, the huge shock he has makes him numb to the pain due to how LARGE it is, also batman arkham has been shown to be really cold in the series because he does not want to hurt anyone
It's heavily hinted that at the end of the game, Harvey is losing himself to Two-Face which could be why Batman isn't showing remorse because the man he grew up with and saw as a brother is no longer there, just a psychopath using his body but that's what I think
8:13 I had no idea that joker was in the next cell I thought that it was Scarecrow giving you scare toxin (since I saw what I thought was gas by your bed).
well if the stalker is nightmare batman then he can't of been the one who opened the door because a hallucination wouldn't be able to interact with the real world

@@kwayneboy1524Harder time seeing this Batman take on any sidekick but it still happened about three times so it wouldn’t have been impossible. That’s what matters. Also, what would ever make it seem like that?!🤨
Are you this brain-less that you expect a 12 years old fighting along side with batman? Do you even realize how stupid would look to have a child knocking 220lbs men that are pure muscle and steroids? Of course that even when batman does it, it's still a bit hard to believe considering how many of them he fights at the same time. But Bruce Wayne being 6'2 man, muscular and also having access to the best technology does help to make a little more beliabable. Honestly if you expect to have child fighting big gigantic men why wearing short-shorts only show me that you are some kind of weirdo and your opinion should never be taken seriously
It's shown in comics that Jason Todd was taken in during his mid teen years (15 I think) but obviously that stint didn't last long. I wouldn't be surprised if Dick Grayson was taken in around the same age, say, 16 instead of his usual 9.
Dick Grayson needed that ass whooping. He loses his parents and joined a cult. This is a callback to that meme of Robin saying something only for Batman to slap him.
The funniest part to me is it pretty much confirms that the police + joker + everyone of note is well aware that Bruce Wayne’s Batman and chooses to tactfully overlook that.
Early Arkham lore is so cool and this game was made so well to expand on it. I always wanted an Arkham origins sequel (and remaster since all the other Arkham games get them) and we finally got it… but it’s stuck on one vr console. Which is fine of course they did a great job with vr controls but man I wish I was able to experience this game for myself
12:11 I actually have two theories about those sightings First theory is that it's Azreal stalking Batman/Bruce/Matches Second theory is that it isn't actually anyone but Batman's Shadow This game has HEAVY implications of one's shadow, finding it and accepting it and these sightings is Batman/Bruce Wayne's shadow manifesting into a physical form that only we can see, like a hallucination and it could forshadow the fight with our shadow later on in the game and those newspapers talking about a Copy-Cat batman could be Barbara Gordon since in the comics, she wasnt really accepted as Batgirl/Batwoman in the beginning because she wasn't trained by Batman, she was more violent and aggressive (sorta like Year 1 Batman) and had trouble showing restraint, she is also smart enough to make her own gadgets so I think its safe to say the sightings in gotham is Batgirl befote Batman knew who Batgirl was

Obviously that’s one of Batmans dreams/ nightmares but it also suggests that Bruce is semi consistently thinking about the details of the night he first met dick
I always took it as that was how the evil route in Arkham knight was going to end the game with you killing the bat family.
@@Bman32x the games a bit vague obviously and that’s a fair assumption of what the game may have meant.
There are a few small details that suggest it’s not that. The biggest one being the batsuit. When you put on the batsuit it gives you the suits model number, and the suit is an older model than the knight suit meaning that VR has to happen before knight
Leading to VR widely being accepted as a hallucination/ dream Batman has between city and knight.
@@Bman32xnah, it's confirmed to be a recurring nightmare Bruce has between City and Knight
Yeah, in the alley as well.
For real !! Batman’s voice sound more deeper and black mask voice too you can kind of hear black mask change into the voice of Arkham city version
Origins is playable on modern consoles. I just played through it on Xbox series X in preparation for Shadow
@adamc117 you'd have to get the disc in order to do that technically. But no chance in digital version.
He's an asshole, sure, but:
- All his test subjects were volunteers (he's not the one that made prisoners go missing).
ELIJAH WOOD PLAYED CRANE?!!! WHAAAT
@@armorblack8807 Elijah Wood voices Dr Crane in Arkham Shadow!
Someone in a different video suggested the stalking figure could be Ra's Al Ghul, as he has glowing eyes, is stealthy as an assassin, and has clearly been interested in Batman since Arkham Origins.
3:01 Robin's origin???😮 This is an awesome take on the character! It's also just funny that THIS is how they met by beating the snot out of the other.
Batman was really beating the shit out of him. I can't believe that's his origin. Takes Domestic Abuse to a whole other level.
@@tierk4328 NAH 😂
But wasn't dick working with Batman in Arkham origins online?
@itsame43 If I remember correctly, Arkham origins online takes place 6 months after the events of Origins which means they SPEEDRAN Dick's training to be Robin! And I mean SPEED!
@@vanishingllama7342
I mean, look at him as a rat.
Ok I think amongst all the theories I've seen, this one seems the most possible.
I didn't actually think of The Phantasm, that's a really good theory
So Bruce recreated “Robin gets punched in the face” meme
It must of been awkward when Dick found out the guy who trained him threw him into a wall💀
At first i thought they retconned how harvey gets scarred. But after you explained it i think it fits in the series.
I'm pretty sure the Santa, Dracula and Bigfoot board is a reference to a very similar board in Batman 89.
The shadow following you around can be anyone, but I do like the idea of Martian Manhunter... it could be:
Barbara (Batgirl)
The League of Assassins
The court of owls
The order of St. Dumas (they have some importance in Blackgate island)
And a lot of people really think it is some kind of foreshadowing to the Bat demon
I thought that the copycat was going to be Prometheus, I’ve always wanted to see him in a game since his profile in Asylum
Apparently he was supposed to appear in _Knight_

I have a theory that Hugo killed bolton to take control of the tyger in arkham city
Possibly
Considering Gordon clearly knows by the time of Arkham Knight and presumably knew for some time it's not crazy he worked it out years ago.
Also I never got that it was Grayson thanks
Did he know by the time of Knight though? He only knew Bruce was Batman after Jason took off his own mask and referred to Bruce by name multiple times. Not to mention that after Bruce took down Jason, he called Alfred while Gordon was still in the room.

Anarky is still out there. He calls into a radio show hosted by Vic Sage talking about possible Rat King theories. It's babs the evidence bored confirms it, likely think it's a dude because Babs cowl doesn't show her yet.

Azrael The Dark Angel
Also in the game you can recognize a lot of the criminals who had a casefile from arkham origins as well.
Surprised you didn't mention Bolton is the BTAS villain "Lockup"
The maps at 10:12 are taken directly from Blackgate, too. You find them when trying to deduce the casefiles in that game.
12:19 Its Knightmare Batman. Atleast thats who I saw when I played before he disappeared in smoke (blackgate walk)
Best thing is that it’s clearly setting up the next Arkham game which will likely be on console, think Arkham knight psvr
Smh.

Thank you you are one of my favorite arkham youtubers thank you so much
Thank you for liking my comment
Bro thank you for making this! They put so much effort and attention to detail in the verse. Great job as well
the detail they put in the story is great, I hope they make another vr batman or a dlc.
That would be a great game for another origins sequel and have bruce and dick take on the court of owls.

This adds so much more for a Nightwing solo Arkham game broooo.
Exactly

They kinda have to, considering Knight is only 10 years after Origins and Dick is easily in his mid twenties or so by then.
It's shown in comics that Jason Todd was taken in during his mid teen years (15 I think) but obviously that stint didn't last long. I wouldn't be surprised if Dick Grayson was taken in around the same age, say, 16 instead of his usual 9.

Ok he dead ass just started talking normally once he figured he wasn't bullshitting joker 😭😭
27:41 that was the exact moment where I finally put two and two together and went “oh shi- it’s you.”
When I first saw the batman copy cat stuff I thought of Prometheus who was only present as a riddle to scan in Arkham Asylum.
12:11 I actually have two theories about those sightings
First theory is that it's Azreal stalking Batman/Bruce/Matches
Second theory is that it isn't actually anyone but Batman's Shadow
This game has HEAVY implications of one's shadow, finding it and accepting it and these sightings is Batman/Bruce Wayne's shadow manifesting into a physical form that only we can see, like a hallucination and it could forshadow the fight with our shadow later on in the game
and those newspapers talking about a Copy-Cat batman could be Barbara Gordon since in the comics, she wasnt really accepted as Batgirl/Batwoman in the beginning because she wasn't trained by Batman, she was more violent and aggressive (sorta like Year 1 Batman) and had trouble showing restraint, she is also smart enough to make her own gadgets so I think its safe to say the sightings in gotham is Batgirl befote Batman knew who Batgirl was
