Edit : found a solution , lower your dpi , in my case my dpi was 160 I lowered it to 120 and it worked , do that if you have the same problem
Didn't work. Phone instantly reboots. The moment I execute the command and the command line fails. Resolution stays as it. However, I still tried to increase the resolution since lowering won't work. Surprisingly, it was increased and suddenly all icons became small. But the lower resolutions don't work on my phone. It's a Nokia 6(2018)
Does it work for Samsung phones? Because as far as I know, these things like adb command, bootloader unlocking, trying to install custom roms can damage or brick Samsung phones. My device is S20 FE 5G, running on Android 11 One UI 3.1
If you do this on a mi 9 it works, so far I have only observed an error in the camera-photo interface with a setting lower than 960x2080 where the software fails (showing green areas the closer it gets in normal mode), the rest camera functionalities works normal without complications. I have taken it up to 720x1560 because I can't find a reason to keep it higher if the 1080 option is disabled in videos from applications like youtube, but it continues to capture on video and camera normally.

_Did you also try to set a lockscreen after doing this?_ I have not not tried it but i'm sure it will work. Please backup your things before trying though. _if I unplug and turn off the USB debugging, will the resolution could back to normal_ No, your resolution will stay after you unplug or turn off USB debugging. I've explained it in the video on how to revert it back to normal. Some phones will reset it after a reboot but some may not.

1. Soft brick. In very rare cases you won't be able to use your screen. It can be reverted back and can be also be fixed with a simple restart. In other cases you'll have to hard reset. 2. Yes, I'd say so 3. Advantage: Better performance Disadvantage: Some apps may not look right

Most phones run 2220x1080 or close to that resolution (like 2280x1080) or something of that resolution which is not regular 16:9 resolution like 1920x1080. If you are sure your phone runs 2220x1080 (or something close to that) and not 16:9 then you might want to downgrade to a 16:9 resolution which in our case is 1920x1080. This will make the game look regular or really nice and still boost performance. The only downside is of course black bars but from my experience they arent that big and also, with our phone sizes these days, I think black bars are okay, because it's still gonna be like a 5.8+ inch screen lol. Edit: I tested this 1920x1080 in fortnite and pubg on a Galaxy S8+ (already decent phone) and saw significant improvement in performance. Some games like fortnite catch that u r using USB debugging so disable it before playing. If you want ur regular screen back, just hook it up to ur pc and reenter the original resolution.
my phone screen was 1440x2560 res and i changed i to 720x1280. it pushed my navigation bar a little up and a little part of my screen is now black. i changed it back to my default res but it didnt work. now what should i do.... will resetting my phone to factory settings work?
Did you try rebooting your phone? Also: 720x1280 is too small. Go for 1152x2048 instead. You can keep it 720x1280 but for navigation buttons, use assistive touch.
@@Grabster I can use navigation buttons but their a little pushed up from the bottom of the screen. And it's blank beneath them. I can't use that part of the screen. And I tried rebooting it. It didn't work. Will reseting work?
It doesn't work for me. I tried to lower my resolution to 540p but when I checked aida64 it shows my default resolution, but when I increase my resolution it works but it makes my phone much laggy
Aida shows you your default, actual screen resolution. You can tell if it worked or not by simply looking at the screen elements. If they've increased in size then it worked.
is the game need to be reinstall or not when the resolution already changed? or the game will be automatically use the new resolution or it will be use the original resolution? because i dont see any different in the game visual.
It says "Security exception: Must hold permission android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS" when I type adb shell wm size lower then my default size. How to fix it?

Edit : found a solution , lower your dpi , in my case my dpi was 160 I lowered it to 120 and it worked , do that if you have the same problem
before doing it you should know your screen resolution available based on your screen size before applying anything
@@poyipoyixd849 well I just changed dpi and it worked so theres no need

I can't find the games dude, can anyone provide the link?
It's a PC game, not mobile.
Thank you sooo much! Discovered a tweaking for my phone!
Simple fast and reliable solution thanks alot man
Didn't work.
My device is S20 FE 5G, running on Android 11 One UI 3.1
tnx dude it works yes! winner winner chicken dinner!!!
Pls I need help. Which device do you use and whats your initial resolution
Just watch the video. I explain everything in it.
Does this work on MOBILE LEGENDS??
It works on all games.
You earn a new subscriber thank you so much !
But the notch is in wrong position
If you do this on a mi 9 it works, so far I have only observed an error in the camera-photo interface with a setting lower than 960x2080 where the software fails (showing green areas the closer it gets in normal mode), the rest camera functionalities works normal without complications. I have taken it up to 720x1560 because I can't find a reason to keep it higher if the 1080 option is disabled in videos from applications like youtube, but it continues to capture on video and camera normally.
thx bro my pubg was faster than ever!

@@MohaModzClipzOfc yea back then i had a really bad device.. i got a bit more fps and the Models stretched so they looked a bit bigger. I think it improved for like 8-10 fps more
I got 6.3 inches and 1080x2340 res what can you recommend that i must use lower resolution? And i find this video helpful if this works on me. 😁
Im having trouble now it says when i change the resolution. Must hold permission android.permission.Write_Secure_Settings idk what to do. 😂
I hope this comment will be noticed, I am currently using Samsung with Android 9 version (Pie) and I only know the rooted method for this stuff which is the build.prop editing from my old phones. And now my Android 9 isn't rooted and I want to give your tutorial a shot, did you also try to set a lockscreen after doing this? And, another question, if I unplug and turn off the USB debugging, will the resolution could back to normal or it will become its default reso? Please respond. Thankyou.
_Did you also try to set a lockscreen after doing this?_
I have not not tried it but i'm sure it will work. Please backup your things before trying though.
_if I unplug and turn off the USB debugging, will the resolution could back to normal_
No, your resolution will stay after you unplug or turn off USB debugging. I've explained it in the video on how to revert it back to normal. Some phones will reset it after a reboot but some may not.
@@Grabster thanks mate, you just earned another subscriber. I hope you'll create more tutorials like this.

You Don't need to check default resolution and density just enter
adb shell wm size reset for default resolution
And
Adb shell wm density reset for default density
Oh!! Nice! I didn't know that. Thanks for this

I prefer my game to be ugly than laggy tbh

I have some few questions to ask u while following ur steps....
1- Can and how my phone gets brick??(Oppo A5 2020 with Snapdragon 665)
2- I have to use this trick for Fortnite Mobile and it runs on 60 fps but it's not constant so can atleast I can get constant FPS??
3- what r other advantages and disadvantages of this (pls tell in detail)
Hope u will reply.....
1. Soft brick. In very rare cases you won't be able to use your screen. It can be reverted back and can be also be fixed with a simple restart. In other cases you'll have to hard reset.
2. Yes, I'd say so
3. Advantage: Better performance
Disadvantage: Some apps may not look right
Bro dpi and screen resolution are same or not ??

How shity can your phone be
Really I play on potato phone my phone can handle brawl stars ezzzz
Good advice! I personally don't mind the black bars in games.
Thank for the thorough comment 👊
You can do it only to a certain level. With this you can go even lower
my phone screen was 1440x2560 res and i changed i to 720x1280. it pushed my navigation bar a little up and a little part of my screen is now black. i changed it back to my default res but it didnt work. now what should i do.... will resetting my phone to factory settings work?
Did you try rebooting your phone?
Also: 720x1280 is too small. Go for 1152x2048 instead. You can keep it 720x1280 but for navigation buttons, use assistive touch.
@@Grabster I can use navigation buttons but their a little pushed up from the bottom of the screen. And it's blank beneath them. I can't use that part of the screen. And I tried rebooting it. It didn't work. Will reseting work?
I had a 1080 resolution but i want it to 720, is it safe? Or I'd just put next lower to 1080 resolution?
it worked but my icons are in random sizes and my camera doesn't show preview device vivo v11 pro 6gb variant i hope i can get a quick fix
Grabster how would you change screen resolution if you are tight on money and have no computer?
My Phone is
- vivo Y53
The resolution is 960x540
it lag sometimes ,fps drops
Do I need to lower the resolution?
You can either kill background processes then play our game or try lowering resolution. Lowering resolution will result in more frames

You must be typing the commands wrong. Type the commands exactly as i did. Keep in mind that Commands are Case Sensitive
