6:13 to finish setting up NSC Builder, open the 'ztools' folder and inside here you will need to paste the same prod.keys file you use for your emulator. Paste that prod.keys file inside the 'ztools' folder and rename it from 'prod.keys' to 'keys.txt'. Then it's all good to go!
to finish setting up take a look at my post under your official comments... ryan , ryan :) this is probably the most complicated method i have ever seen (merge Switch games, updates and dlcs into a single file) please take a look at Switch Army Knife (SAK) v0.7.14 release it couldn't be simpler + you have tons of options! thank me later...
NSC builder was a game changer when I found it. Love being able to have a single file and not needing to worry about loading updates and DLC into the emulator. FYI if all your game, update, and dlc are in the same folder you can simply drag the folder into the builder and it will add all the files at once rather than manually adding each file individually. Just figured I'd let you know I've tested and done it since you mentioned being unsure in the vid.
I have a question, some emulators like Yuzu when I apply the update patch through the emulator, it causes the game to crash on startup but the the vanilla base game would still work. Would the NSC builder fix this particular issue since it would just be one file?
Thanks a lot for confirming this! I thought this would be the case but I didn't want to say so just in case it ends up breaking everyone's files! I wanted to stick with what I know works for sure but thanks a lot for letting me know this works well! Do you know if it's possible to drag your entire switch rom folder in and it'll apply all the updates to various games in one go? Or can you only drag a folder that contains the files for 1 specific game?
@@RyanRetro1 I have not tested that but I would assume only the files for one game. I'd worry it would try to combine them all into one xci file lol. Something to test I guess, maybe it's smart enough to create a file for each game.

I was considering the Ayn Odin 2 Mini because of the power but you, with all your tutorials, made me want the Retroid Pocket 5 again because it's becoming a wonderful community like the likes of the Steam Deck. All the support is awesome and everything you do for this hobby, is amazing! Don't stop making videos, Ryan!
Thank you for all your work. Thanks to you i enjoy the RP5 much more then i ever imagined. I am shocked how good the Secret console works on this device. My mindset was to play PS2 and Gamecube games on the go... maybe a handful of indie titles on secret console... the reality is, my internal storage is alrady full because of the games i can play, my SD card of 1 TB is at 600gb full. Thanks to your compatibility list i will get the rest of the SD card filled up. Greetings form Germany!
Great vid! I didn't know about that audio setting! Before combining game&update I would at least test them separately first, because for me for example lego horizon adventures only works without the update no matter which drivers/settings I test
Hi Ryan. Love the videos. Would you consider doing a video on HD Texture Packs for Gamecube games on Dolphin? Very difficult to find a clear, straightforward guide!

Can someone explain to me a little more about installing updates using one of the emulators? If updates and roms are installed the external memory card, how does add to the internal storage? Does it make a copy and add it to the internal storage? If so where? Tried looking in sudachi and couldn't find anything?
