Since then, I have reinstalled Emudeck (on MSD) after installing a bigger SSD in my Deck. The new Emudeck version is fantastic, - very easy to install, artworks load very complete. Thanks again for showing this!!!

Thanks for this! I got my deck about 2 weeks ago. Didn't think I needed it, but I am really glad that I got it! Its so cool! I've been meaning to set up emulators on it, just haven't done it yet!
Had my Deck for 2 or 3 weeks now and had just setup most of these things, but theres still some new, good info in here for me. Such a good system and the updates already are nuts. I can't wait to see what devs come up with once they all have a Deck to play with and test themselves. Sega Saturn is also just super easy to get going, which has historicly been a pain for me on many a device.

I've had mine for 2 months and mainly wanted to dock it and use wireless controllers on my TV but the controllers dont ever work right so I've given up. You can play on steam deck itself tho and it's fine. Controller configs are a nightmare
I really enjoyed this video, particularly because you went through each emulator for each system. I don't have a lot of experience emulating systems later than PS1, so this tells me what to look for and expect. Thank you !

This is by far the best, most comprehensive, and easiest guide for Steamdeck emulating out there. I struggled for days using other guides trying to figure out how to get everything nicely set up and aesthetically pleasing. This guide made everything so much more simple. You, sir, deserve an award.

excellent video. i been emulating 12 hrs a day for the past 3 weeks. lol seriously. (vacation) It has been easy to learn. Been watching lots of you-tube videos. (only prob i have had seemed to be ps2 stuff...dont know why. especially since i have no problem with all the other ps's,nes's,xbox,genisis's,gameboy and wii, etc. Been looking for a game, cant find anywhere too. Well...I saved this link and subscribed. Excellent video.
This is amazing! Im hopefully getting the 512 deck at years end and never really went so deep into emulation, so this is exciting for me! Also never used Linux so im researching that. Lots of new things haha. Loved the vid/saved for later and subbed, thanks man!
If you want to get comfortable with Linux, try using Linux mint on virtual box and play around in it. I've found Linux mint is pretty similar to the SteamOS desktop.
@@MegaSimmaster i know this is quite late, but to me the steam deck looks like its running kde, so id probably try run endeavour or fedoras kde edition in a virtual machine to learn to use it instead

It sucks how they did me I literally preordered as soon as preorders went live and I was literally pushed from The first batch to then Q2 a week later and then the first month of Q 2 they pushed me all the way to Q3. It's been really frustrating. I reached out to steam and didn't help either.

very clear explanation. The first time user for Emu Deck, Emulation Station, and Steam Rom manager can get confused as to what each thing does..not to mention once you're messing around more with Yuzu and Cemu you can get lost.

Hey this video is really useful, for the multi-disk stuff, I actually converted all my ps1 games into psp eboot's that work in duck station and can have multiple discs; I'll have to check that works as intended as I havent set up emulation stuff on my deck yet.

Just got my Deck 2 days ago and absolutely am blown away by it's power and capabilities. I've never owned a good PC before and the SD is easily the most powerful gaming machine I've ever owned. Just came from a Switch, their exorbitant prices of old software and the sub performance.
Downloaded Mass Effect Trilogy remaster today and I am just blown away at how good everything runs.
Thank you for the video, I'll be coming back to it often as I begin installing my retro library on my SD.
A comprehensive and useful video. In terms of emulation I only use the Steam deck to play a handful of consoles. Namely Gamecube, PS2 and Saturn. It's unfortunate that Steam Rom Manager is still so complicated and only works well for most common games. If you start adding Saturn titles then it doesn't recognize half of them and rename titles arbitrarily.
PS2 on the go is amazing though, something that we never got to experience apart from a few titles ported to PSP or Vita.

I would have loved to see an overlook on the additional features expert mode adds.
Literally every emudeck guide leaves them out despite the fact most probably come in incredibly handy.
Yeah I wanted to cover this and I started to write about it but it kind of felt like a better fit for a separate video. I tried to address some of the bigger stuff like SteamDeckGyroDSU and RetroAchievements here but yeah - would be good to cover more holistically.
I understand 👍, this video is already pretty long as is & you cover a great deal of content.

I'm a massive horror fan who adores the old school Resident Evils, but who never got a chance to play Silent Hills 2 and 3. I hope I'll be able to try those out when I eventually get my Deck!
