Absolutely loved this one think it's one of the best video you've done could actually feel myself going through all that bog and mud😂😂 was an amazing run you two done here thank you so much for uploading this video
Thank you Martin. It was a great challenge though we didn’t take it on as such, just ran within a comfort zone, enjoying the tops and filming what we could. So glad to go sub 12hrs though. That was a bonus!!
Thank you Glen, appreciate all your time and help this past weekend. You have created such a fantastic route piecing together some spectacular (and difficult) tops via stunning trails. Hopefully we’ll be up again at some point to go over your 32 mile ‘short’ SHORT??? 😂 route. Hoping we cross paths again at some point 👍
Well.done the pair of you. I was looking for a comedy moment from one of you going over the bogs. Looks like you had a cracking day out and now on for a well-deserved rest.
It certainly is Jess! Parts of it reminded us so much of our beloved Peak District and some sections were just down right naughty (bogs on Comb Fell). Still, we landed lucky with a clear day so got to show the Cheviots in all their glory ❤️
Well done to you both. An impressive run. It was very kind of the folks to look after you a bit and cheer you in. Another very enjoyable video. Thank you :)
Brilliant well done. I was laughing at parts when you used words like awesome and brilliant where all i was looking at was the thick cold soaking bogs. I think i can safely and categorically say the Cheviot hills is not for me 😁
@@AndyUltraA pub with a roaring fire will be nothing but a dream for us when it starts to get dark. It’s a lovely place, I can tell you that from last year!!
great video as always thank you for sharing. What is your go to sock/shoe combo when you know it is going to be so wet do you go for waterproof socks or just accept wet feet with merino socks for warmth?
Thank you very much! We’re not so much bothered about wet feet as such though they can cause issues. We would usually just use shoes fit for the terrain and crack on. This weekend we expected it to be a little cooler so opted for Inov8 merino socks with our X Talon shoes. In four weeks if it’s colder then it’ll be waterproof socks and X Talons for the Montane Cheviot Goat as we’ll be out upwards towards 18 hours or so.
We passed you as we were walking very slowly up cairn hill as you were running down.Obviously no idea at the time you had just done 20 miles before that!! I rember looking back not long after you had passed us and could just spot you in the distance on your way to hedgehope hill and thinking how much ground you had covered in such a short space of time. Amazing achievement by you both 👍
Thank you so much. What a day to be in the Cheviot Hills! It was glorious coming down from Cairn Hill with views for miles. Hope you enjoyed your day 👍
Hi and thanks very much. Wish we did have places like this on our doorstep but that was a 3hr drive. So worth it though. Yes, we always collect water from streams and rivers though use a Salomon filter flask 👍
Guys, I have some questions on your training. You guys seem to run 20+ miles each week on your long runs. What are you do throughout the week? I’m after ideas, I’ve been struggling through a few ultras over the past couple of years and am looking to get better.
To be honest we have no specific training plan. The maximum we do is two 10 mile runs during the week, recently the mileage has been a little less but we’ll try and pick it back up. It’s hard to get motivated on dark wet evenings when you’ve been at work all day! I think we’ve just become accustomed to struggling and kind of expect it now. With it we get some kind of sadistic pleasure! Best of luck with your ultras, definitely the best type of running 👍
Brilliant video guys! Great to see our local trails from your perspective.
Glad the bogs were kind to you. 👏👏👏👏
Thanks very much, not bad at all up there was it? I’m sure it’ll be very different in four weeks time….
@@TrailRunningCouple ... you had better weather than we had today!! Typical!! Hahahaha
Got to love the Tors on a day like that. Well done.
The views from the summits are fantastic. I think we fell really lucky given how bad the weather has been. Thanks 😊
Wow great effort! Nice to see you show casing Northumberland! Liked and Subscribed
Thank you Craig, appreciate it! Such a lovely place isn’t it?

Haha, thought it would happen to! It was surprisingly ok given all the rain we’ve had. Thanks 😊
Nicely done you two. See you early next month at the Cheviot Goat.
Can’t wait!!!! 🧐 Thank you 😊
That looks like a fantastic route!

@@TrailRunningCouple Wow, 4 weeks. Jeese it has come around quick hasn't it. I'll find a pub with a roaring hot nice log fire to watch the live feed 😜
Don’t rule it out Andy, some lovely parts that are very reminiscent of the Peak District. The bogs are just for giggles 😂

Do you draw your water from stream and rivers on a run like that?
