I have 1994 XCR 440 SP , racing team limited édition , racing seat , big tank , red top xcr spécial, whit 38mm carburator, shock fox , good looking sled ❤❤
Picked up a 99 Gen II XCR 440 project. It’s a bit of a rare bird. Looking for any info on it (needs top end at minimum) came across this video in my research
Eyeing up that '88 400 around the corner. Got one of those sitting in the garage waiting for some love & attention.... What I really want though, is the '89 400. Polaris really got the look right on the 400s and 650s that yr.
Hello my Twin Loving friend I also have a 1997 XCR 440 I have owned it since new and will never sell it The original Red Rocket I'm a Canadian and was in the Race Program in Canada from 1992 to 1997 I raced cross country and Snow Cross all on XCR 440's it was my last race sled Myself and Racing buddy Ken couldn't be beat on Polaris XCR 440's You have a Gem there Hang on to it
Just subscribed. Most interesting content on your videos. Love the antique sleds and racing sleds from back in the day! Individual expansion chambers and mic. Carb’s start my heart thumping! Love to hear them cackling! Keep up the great work sir and thank you for your work. 📕
Sorry i bit late watching but was at home for a month and a half working on rxl 650 put triple slps 1 in paddle track skid out of a 2003 xcr then took the 680 triple sks out of my seld drop a 800 triple with 3 pipes
I got a 97 xcr with (silver heads)...it's Mike gentz old race sled(negaunee Michigan ),so it's got history...but I also have a 98 ORANGE xcr red rocket with chartreuse stickers....ever see an orange one???...rarer than the red ones
Dam that brings back memories. The dealer I delt with back in 2000 had a 99 440 full race sled. Rated at 100hp and he let me use it for a weekend. The clutch engaged at 5500 rpm. The harder you pounded that sled the better it liked it. Good memories.
Morning Todd. You talked about a voltage regulator upgrade for 90s sleds in a previous video. I’m having trouble finding it. Can you post a link? Love your vids.
Don't know why but it showed up in my feed... years ago I had a XCR600 triple triple don't know much about it but it was fast and loud. I might have some vids in my channel but it's long gone now...
Had a buddy who set one up for the Mtns back at that time. I thought it was going to be a dog and way under powered at altitude. Was definitely not the case. The sled surprised the hell out of everyone. Cheers 🍻🍻🍻
Nice sled as you said they were quick for what they were. I worked for a dealership and we built one as a pro stock drag sled. Wahl Bros. built the engine as they ran a lot of them on the oval back then. Larry Rugland custom pipes. It was sick turned like 10 or 10,200rpm I believe. Obnoxiously loud lol. Cool find
Rare is 93 sks 440.. I geared my'n to do 96mph. Pulls hard and something about driving a 82hp sled that weight 378 lbs that keeps up with the 300hp turbos on the trails. Guys be thinking I'd be way behind. haha Shocking at a corner stop sign.. I'm right there.
@@toddclyne3493 Missed that part in the video. LOL I worked at a dealer here in Canada from 95 to 01 and Yes that was the Spring model People Got to try. Lucky guy for sure.
@@otahu26 You also missed that there is a 88 500 in the back ground 😁. One person spotted it in the video 😅. That must have been pretty cool working at the dealership back then.

I've been looking 4 one of these.....
Oh that never got the 97.5 update, our 97 has the same engine as our 98 xcr
In red, I only ever saw them in white or black, but I have saw one in blue
And purple
God I love them 90's-05 Polaris

Beautiful red rocket. I miss my 98. Was a fun sharp sled. Unique burnt red color too
Wow I didn't know you once had a 98. Fun sled
@@toddclyne3493 even had the same checkered flared windshield. I had a black cover over the clear tank so my tank didnt turn yellow over time

I didn't realize those had power valves. What a beauty
Yepper first year
I had one, it ripped. It kept up good on the trails.
Yes they did
Had the 2000.5 xc440 racer. Very cool you guys show this one. I always wanted the 98. When that 00.5 xc popped up I jumped on it immediately.
I have the same sled and I put a 650 triple in it . Awesome sled
I see all kinds of motors swapped into these because from experience engine parts for them are nearly impossible to get
Todd I was going to ask you where u got ur 680 water pump rebuild

The buddy I was talking about also put a 133 track on his and brought it out to Idaho with me in 02. Ran great
Is that the ultra rare 1988 500 Indy beside the garage
Wow you have some good eyes!! It has a x in the vin
I have the vin number for them. 50 made. 16 SKS models and 34 regular tracks
