Great tip on the zip tye after forty years of using a pick to lift the tongue 8-) The Moro does require removing the two top screws and has another screw at the bottom...both use different wrenches; torx and Allen
thanks for all the details, user comments and how to do its on the CrossCore and Wabash!! ties? yea it works especially to remove....but reuse is not as reliable, cheap enough so if it's important, just use a new one
I agree, certainly works and certainly not as sufficient as new. I'll likely find a better solution over time if the extra batteries ever actually come in.
I would think of it as security. However, you might have to double check it remains closed while riding. I assume if it slides open a little bit like mine does without something holding it. A person could pop it open the rest of the way to get the battery out.
@@Hisway1151 it only secures the battery. So far I have left the keys at home as I don’t anticipate removing the battery while riding, although it could be a deterrent for theft…? When I picked up the bike the dealer was very determined to have me understand that if you lose your keys there is no way (?) to get a replacement and drilling out the lock would be required…🤡
Thank you for the reply because I currently have the Crosscore RC and my Wabash and Moro 05 will be here Monday. I ordered a battery cap so I can use the Moro battery in my Crosscore RC but wasn't sure if I should order another one to put on the Wabash rt battery I guess I will wait to see I really hope the Wabash and Crosscore end up being the same BTW I love you videos they are extremely helpful@@InfiniteMishaps
@@CJW-w1x I just bought cheap mount from Walmart. It works well for my purposes. Probably not resilient enough for mountain biking, but it’s good enough for riding gravel or better. Is the battery tray falling out a common thing you've seen? Do we really need to secure the battery with zip tie because I'll frequently change the battery out and not charge it on the bike and having a ziptie would sour that routine
@@Cloudypoo neither of mine have actually gotten to the point of falling out. I just secure it to prevent the latch from wearing over time as it sits open while I ride. You could easily get a Velcro strap to do the same job and it would be easily removed at the time of battery removal.
I'm seeing that Yamaha is having a clearance for these models, sale ends Nov. 4. When you ordered the spare battery for this bike, did they give you a decent price for the battery? Looking online, the spare battery costs more than the sale price for the entire bike. Thanks for any comment.
@@stevef7035 looking at their site they appear to be sold out. Word on the street is someone clean them out and are reselling on their own site. Not sure if the battery deal or the sale still apply. Kind of a shitty move if it was done by Yamaha to avoid 5yr warranty issues. I applied for the free extra battery via the dealer I picked it up from. This was under the original deal they offered when the sale first went live. I was hyper stoked about this purchase, but seeing this kind of stuff sours it for me a bit.
I did not know about the zip tie trick, and I am always reusing them for something smaller! Great tip.
@@williamquick1326 same, thanks
Thanks for sharing! Please could you tell me if you can chargue the battery when it is out of the bicycle?
@@thinkercraftES yes you can, the battery has a charge port and a power meter on it.

@@lavrgs thanks for the info
I should have included that the lower screw locks the battery in.

Question: Is the key just to secure the battery tray in place or is it a security device for the bike ? Thanks 👍
