On this episode of the woodland kitchen, i am cooking with the Swedish Army Mess Kit. The main pot is boiling up the veggies whilst the small pot is cooking the steak. The Swedish Army Mess Kit is a great cooking system.
You can find these on ebay, it's getting difficult to find the original pan sets these days. Mi l-Tec are reproducing the pans.

I love the patch on your bag that says, "You Never Go Back" with the rifle below. Great video. Hello from Florida USA.
EyUp Paul, I have the stainless version it’s absolutely brilliant I use 2 maybe 3 times a month when I’m out and about. Cheers Will
I have seen them come up on the net £65 now. Thanks Will
Good job, Paul. I’ve been hearing a lot about Trangia spirit stove and kit. I already saw another video of you just demonstrating the stove and cook kit and that was a helpful video, as well.
Cool, thanks
This is the kit that got me started about 10 years ago. An old friend passed away and I got the stainless kit. I did a little research on alcohol stoves and the mess kit because I really had no idea as to what I had. I think of Bill every time I use his old kit. I'm not the cook that Paul is, but I have cooked a lot of soups, coffee and tea with good results.
I waited all week for this 😊👍✅ thank you my friend 👍😊🇦🇺❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your welcome ;)
Hi Paul, been watching your channel the last couple of days, and must say brilliant, light hearted and you bring a smile to ones face....lol !! Your channel was recommended by Scottish Wanderer..........
Thanks Doug, i really appreciate the feedback ;) Stuart said he was going to give me a shout out :)
I should do this for the fun of it. Looks fun.
I am looking forward to your Christmas Day Woodland Kitchen Special Paul. I have owned the Swedish Army Mess Kit but now only use stainless steel for my cooking cups, pots etc but it is a superb set. Thank you for sharing this with us. Paul :)
Another great video Paul
Thanks
Another quality video Paul. Great mess kit those. Have had one for years, their bomb proof. Atb, Ian.
Just found this video. Got a Swedish army cook set. They are superb for 1person and last a lifetime. If you hear the contents of the lid first then put it over the pan the steam keeps it warm. Good video (again) . Regards from sunny Skegness
Cheers Dave. I will be getting mine out again soon ;)
Thanks I appreciate you for take your time to share with us look forward to seeing more wish you all the very best until next time my friend happy holidays
Another good one cheers paul

greetings from Holland,, Kitty.
I usually watch your vids on my phone with headphones.
Just bought a new 4k UHD..Television..with all the trimmings.
I did'nt know you can watch TH-cam on it...oh the joys of being 54!!
Ok back to comments...like the cookset..good ideas for simple cooking.
Being a bike touring/camping person..i think that is a neat bit of kit.
BUT.....i recently bought the Trangia 27...as you know Paul...and thats all i need.
Its great to get out..and i have an understanding wife thank goodness.
Cheers Paul.
She won't be understanding for long if your'e watching YT on the telly all the time ;) The 27 Series is a great cooking system.
Nice set up mate good job 👍 good video
Thanks
Paul, enjoyed your video, Phil Sheard, West Midlands
Thanks Phil
The Swedish stoves are relatively cheap I guess, (£40 quid odd on eBay), but weirdly are often sold with ill-fitting alternatives from other army kits! Trying to get the bloody 3 crowns mess kit + stove, as a complete thing, costs an-arm-and-a-leg! Still want one tho’.
Hi. Brilliant videos Are you over in Cranford Park. Reminds me of the old area and with the planes overhead.
I just received a Swedish one from Poland it has the markings but it’s not exactly the same. It’s missing the hook and has a permanent loop on handle not the 2 loops. The rest is the same. Interesting show I like it. I have a similar physic.
looks good
Master carpenter too
Mate that start was funny!! You look like you have lost weight from watching these early ones!!

Just watched the 3 episodes of woodland kitchen whirl prepping today's Sunday roast beef dinner. I love food outdoors also Paul. The kitchen the with fallen tree was awesome, nothing like using what's around you. I'll be up the woods on Tuesday for a Xmas dinner special. Take care buddy.
Looking forward to your Xmas Dinner Special Trev. I will do one for next weeks Woodland Kitchen. Have a great week mate.
Paul Bisseker Bushcraft you too mate
Another nice vid Paul, I'm thinking of buying one of them PBK classic bush craft knives, maybe you could do a vid on how good they are at throwing sparks with the Ferro rod as I have watched your preview and also some others but no one as yet has showed it in action.
I will do
Thank you Paul, will look forward to that one
👌🏽
F.Y.I. Self Reliance Outfitters sells a PFM 40 Stainless Steel Cook Set for around $72 USD. It is a reproduction. Check it out on line. We call what you just warmed up beefstew.
I see you had your can of steak stashed in the billy. I recently discovered with mine that two standard cans fit perfectly in the billy. So perfectly in fact I suspect it was designed that size on purpose. Apologies commenting on an old vid, hope you see this.
I use same spoon I have 2
If you add gravy granules to the liquid with the veg you’d have a great stew base. No water to drain off, add your tin of steak to it when the veg is almost ready. Then you could ladle that into your pan and eat from that.
Those freeze dried granules are superb for making stew bases.
No weight either, best not to waste the cooking water.you turn that into your stew sauce .
it appears you over cooked the veggies, why did you not switch the pots positions.
I enjoyed the video and I also think it's better to cook in the woods. Is that cook set also available in Amazon uk? It looks pretty good.
Thanks, i'm not sure about Amazon. Ebay had a few when i last looked.
Great vid again Paul. How does this cook set compare price wise with the Ghillie Kettle cook system? The Ghillie Kettle looks superbly built but I bet it's expensive.
You'll be on Saturday Kitchen on TV soon at this rate lol. Celebrity chief :-)
Lol, the kelly kettle's are a lot more money. www.outdoorgear.co.uk/Kelly-Kettle-Scout-Stainless-Steel-sku53106401.asp?gclid=CjwKCAiA9rjRBRAeEiwA2SV4Zf-lXaIonoe6kGQwsantk5xXaDUb-E9Z_ClxQzzD5waRQTfxNy9VeRoCXv8QAvD_BwE
Put your can in a plastic bag put in with veg to warm up then pour out, very easy 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
great vid again Paul :) are we going to see a xmas meal special in the coming weeks? haha full turkey spitroasted in the woodland kitchen
I will do something ;)
Paul any chance you can review the Optimus Svea 123. A powerhouse of a stove and bomb proof, regards from Dublin 🍀.
I don't have one Leonard. If i come across one i will do.
Great nife for cutting butter.
Looks gd, might sort of grub

This looks very good, I think you might also want to check out the MKII Crusader Lightweight Cook Kit (from BCB). I'm very curious which one you would pick out of those two. Funkyprepper did a good review here: th-cam.com/video/RKkaiA4wZUE/w-d-xo.html
I'd want the extra stainless lid otherwise its very versatile.
I have the MK1 BCB and the MK2 cooker. I would choose the Swedish Mess Kit over the BCB.
Paul Bisseker Bushcraft It looks like the ability to cook in the two pots at the same time alone is worth chosing the Swedish mess kit for. The only thing I would like to see different is if it was annodised aluminium as there are some issues with using standard alumnium for cooking. But prob not an issue unless you did it every day for every meal.
Thsts a shit load of salt
