From personal experience HKS CustSvc is one of the best I’ve ever dealt with. I had an issue with a turbo kit and they not only helped me diagnose the issue but overnight shipped me a new kit from Japan at their expense and had me keep the original. I wish more companies took customer service so seriously. Yes their parts are expensive but the ownership experience is worth every dollar imo

Brings back memories, you guys forgot to mention the entirely raw carbon Evo 8, the one before the red one. They crashed it at Tsukuba i think but that thing was an icon at the time. It was prettier than the red one and was considered the fastest time attack car in the world after beating the green and yellow Subaru GC8 from Jun Auto Mechanic. Everything they used to make that car fast could be purchased from their shop, which was not the case for the Altezza which was unofficially "disqualified" because of it's racing only nature. honestly, I would have liked to see this video a bit longer and more in depth, these guys are the reason why cars like the Supra, Evo and WRX are so popular in the United States, without HKS they would still be good cars but not legendary like they are now.

Yeah, Acura shouldn't have discontinued the RSX/Integra. Of course, it didn't have the sales volume of a Civic, but Honda/Acura never promoted their cool cars beyond enthusiasts, which if they did maybe they'd have the sames numbers to keep producing them. Same with Mitsu and the Evo.

First aftermarket part I put on my '93 Civic Coupe back with my first paycheck in the Summer of 1994: *HKS Super Power Flow* No one was showing the 5th gen Civic ANY love...except for HKS. Big-ups to you, Hasegawa! You made my Civic THE sport compact car icon. And I still have it, in Aztec Green Pearl. ☺ (240k miles!)
They are but the parts aren't technically even made by them anymore. They are all outsourced by other companies and you can't even call HKS directly anymore. You get some random place called Detroit motorsport or something. I tried when I wanted to get the Hipermax coilovers and found out they aren't even made by HKS
I believe it didn't get broken till somewhere around 06 07, they set their 7sec record in 2000, it was broken by gtr700(r33 from aus) then again by Reece McGregor from nz a few months later at 7.55 in his r32, 12 yrs later there are r32 rb26 gtrs here in oz going 6.7s 😳👌 I remember watching all the battles through the early 2000s of people trying to crack 8s ,so many broken engines, so many broken drivelines, 😂 but oh so many broken records too 👌 was a great time to be a spectator 👌

One of my favorites was the turbo kit for the 4AGZ-E in the Levin. Making it twin charged. I still have my P-FCON, FCD, and Turbo timer on my FC that I brought back 25 years ago. Maybe do one on APEXi or Trust (Greddy) sometime down the road?
I was exposed to hks when I read a article on a guy that built a R34 skyline completely with only hks parts but he was in sales for hks lol, but reading those specs and seeing the work got me into cars, Thank Nissan and much love to hks for making me want to know about cars

Back in 1990, a buddy of mine built an '87/'88 Turbo Supra Targa Top out of two wrecked cars. He fitted it out with an HKS turbo boost kit, and Kaminari ground effects. It was one of the slickest cars in Indianapolis at the time.

I used to deliver and pick up from them when I worked at FedEx. Got to see them tune on the dyno and the tuner from Japan took me for a ride in the STI wagon when it dropped in the US.. and got a pair of racing gloves as a gift for hooking them up with last minute shipping..
Another thing that would have been worth mentioning is that their R33 drag skyline absolutely crushed the world record for skylines in the quarter mile. Their record of 7.6 on the quarter was absolutely insane in the late 90's (not sure exactly which year it was) wasn't beaten until 15 years later with Reece McGregor from Heat Treatments and his R32 skyline
I had HKS boost, oil pressure and oil temp guages mounted on the drivers piller of my tuned Volvo V40 wagon. They looked good, performed well and were simple to install.
Makes me even prouder to know that I own a gt3 turbo kit and that it was the first production kit for the 86😭 thank you HKS! I even had the engineer of the kit come give his blessing🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Another thing that would have been worth mentioning is that their R33 drag skyline absolutely crushed the world record for skylines in the quarter mile. Their record of 7.6 on the quarter was absolutely insane in the late 90's (not sure exactly which year it was) wasn't beaten until 15 years later with Reece McGregor from Heat Treatments and his R32 skyline
