As a Canadian, to me it just states it is harder to make it in baseball but it is possible. Growing up in Québec people don't give a shit about anything other than hockey. High schools have football teams but players don't get lauded like they do in English North America. Most people don't care about football, some like basketball, almost all like hockey, and practically no one cares about baseball. Not exactly easy to play growing up in anything other than little league where the cosest kid from you could live kilometres away. If you think I'm exaggerating there are several articles about Abraham Toro simply because he was from Québec and made it to the majors. French names will also get butchered whilst announcers will try to pronounce Spanish names as correctly as possible. The way he speaks seems like the rest of Canada is only marginally better. At least at the time.

I hate that this is the first mention of a guy who realistically, was better than Jeter.

@@jsXanatos I always considered Jeter overrated with the East Coast media advantage…then I took into account his playoff numbers and changed my mind. He was a god in the playoffs.

@@piercehubbard4086 Jeter resides upon the top shelf of the game's best postseason players along with say Koufax, Matthewson, Gehrig, Rivera, and Gibson.

i remember for years, they talked about the "coors field advantage" but i have never seen the colorado rockies win a world series? the baseball media is so full of dumb narratives

His stats when park factors are accounted for are still crazy good. His 1997 season was 77% better than average, after park adjustment

I won't just give you the answer without calling you an idiot first. You're an idiot. Okay, now I'll tell you. The road team also gets to play at Coors. Wow. So shocking! They also are the tiredest team in baseball because the lack of oxygen at high altitude drains you faster and it takes three days to get adjusted to altitude so because there are so many games in a baseball season, tons of Rockies games are played by players recovering from a change in altitude, whereas others team only have to do it when they visit Coors. They also have a terrible gm and a history of having terrible gms. Right now their gm refuses to trade valuable assets on expiring contracts year in year out. Even if they were ran well they're only been around since 1993 which is 31 years ago and there are 32 teams. So even if a different team won a chapionship once in that time span, not every team would've won. Gosh I hope you were drunk or high or something to write something that dumb.

Larry Walker could do it all in a Baseball field, too bad those writers made him wait 10 years for his deserved HOF enshrinement.

Hands down would have been my favorite player if I was old enough to see him play. Took way too long for him to get in the hall. The writers association is full of clowns
