I've been a baseball fan since I'm about 6-7, in the early 80's and I looked up to players like Rickey Henderson, Wally Backman, Dave Winfield etc but when I was a little older, I started playing stratomatic baseball, with dice and cards and Larry Walker was 1 of the most coveted players anyone could draft for a team. His #'s were amazing ! And on both sides of the ball. He was a solid defender with a lazer for an arm . This guy was a class act who was a natural athlete. A joy to watch !
As a kid, I was absolutely pumped when Walker became a Cardinal. His time there, while short, was a lot of fun as a fan. It's too bad we couldn't send him out a winner in 2005, but he made quite an impression in his short time here.
I really enjoyed watching him those two years. While he was a very old looking 37 and 38 year old he had a very high baseball IQ and was impressive because of it. The Berkman career revival reminded me a lot of Walker's two years with the team.

Larry did a rehab stint with our local Salem, VA single-A affiliate club after one of his injuries. That he was playing in this small town was big news & he did not disappoint. He hit a ball that appeared to still be ascending when it left the stadium, and ended up landing across a 4 lane road that ran behind the right field wall and in the back yard of a home across that road. It was an actual "man among boys" moment if there ever was one.

Those Rockies uniforms with the mountains on the front and the last name on the back going vertical are oddly pretty sick looking. I wouldn’t mind finding a Larry Walker jersey of that kind.
Awesome video and yes can you please do a Frank Thomas video. He just like Larry Walker did struggle with some injuries near the end of his career and he was still able to perform on that. Frank Thomas level, especially in that 93-94 season. Where was more like babe Ruth!
I've been a baseball fan ever since I attended my first game at Busch in 1966. In the 90's I didn't care for all the hype surrounding the so-called superstars, like Griffey and Thomas. I was more into guys like Molitor, Brett, Gwynn, of course my boy Ozzie, and Walker - the regular guys who simply went out every day and played the game. I understand that they are also in the Hall of Fame, but they did it the old fashioned way.
Larry was my favorite player during his career. He could do everything when he wasn't injured. However, he played too hard and was injured too much. He played baseball like he was playing hockey.

I played golf with him in a tourny. Such a nice guy
That's awesome!
Awesome video and yes can you please do a Frank Thomas video. He just like Larry Walker did struggle with some injuries near the end of his career and he was still able to perform on that. Frank Thomas level, especially in that 93-94 season. Where was more like babe Ruth!
I still remember that 400 avg in July! Not sure I’ve seen that since, but also don’t follow like I did when I was a kid.
I love these videos…Love them.
Thank you, I’m glad you’re enjoying the content!
John Kruk of Phillies did same thing at Allstar game almost 10yrs earlier, also against Johnson.
Manny Ramirez!!!! Please and thank you great job on the video
Please do a video on Cal Ripken Jr.
As an O’s fan, it’s not a matter of if, but when!
You should do a series covering underrated players! Adam Jones would be a good player to cover.
Loved Jonesy as an O’s fan so you already know I’m interested!
@@Cam23 I’m an O’s fan too man. He was one of my favorite players to watch. Consistent 25 HRs a year bat and a great guy off the field.
Love your vids.. you deserve more subs. Keep up the hard work, and they'll come! I'm an old-skool Braves fan.. I can't ask you to do all of the more prominent '90s players, but how about Dave Justice? :)
Thank you for the kind words! And that’s a great suggestion, he’d be a great ballplayer to do a video on
Seeing Juan Soto in an Expos jersey is irrationally upsetting me.
Great video!
- A Expos orphan
The 1-2-3 punch from Larry Walker, Andre Galagarra & Dante Bichette.
I would love to see Eric Davis on here. He doesn't get the respect he deserves
please make a video of juan gonzalez
Larry walker was one of my favorite ballplayers during that era. The fact he didn't have any steroid controversy either at that time makes him that much better imo.
Uhh yes he did. The dude hit 18 home runs in 1996 and then hit 49 in 1997.
@@axe2grind244 while that's true his homeruns jumped up he was at no point mentioned among the 89 players in the Mitchell report. Also I have never seen anything online that proves or even insinuates that he did steroids.
If you can find an article somewhere that states Larry Walker took PEDs please share it because it would be news to me.
@@axe2grind244 Uh.. the 'dude' played only 83 games in '96. Way to stat pick with no context.
@axe2grind244… Uhh you forgot the part about him playing only 83 games in 1996 and also conveniently left out his 44 homers in 1994. Nice Try Google Goblin ;)
Walker in his prime is top 10 all around player in history. Deal With It.
Safe money says that when he got to 33 SB’s, he purposely stopped trying.
Fire vids dude views r gunna be rollinggg in
can u do an Andres 'Big Cat' Gallaraga video
