@@NJSportsGirl2 Exactly. Something we all can see and rarely ever do ourselves to the same degree. I know I wouldn't probably say Mr. Steinbrenner or Mr. Torre in his position. He gives great lessons for children on respect. I love that about him more than his play and I know some other things he said to me at Yankee fan festival after his rookie yr which was similar but not on camera slightly less perfect and when I asked what he meant he said I'd figure it out lol

Thank you Mr.Jeter for the great years of baseball that you gave to my childhood. I saw many games at Yankee Stadium as a 12 year old kid the year Jeter came up in 96. What an incredible time. The best game I ever seen at the Stadium in person was the Mr November game. I can still hear the crowd roar when Jeter hit that homerun and still feel that old Stadium shake.
Jeter will always be a Yankee forever. The guy looks like he can still put a uniform on and start spring training tomorrow. Simply the best. Thank You Captain Clutch.

I'm not only happy for Derek Jeter and Larry Walker being inducted, but to all of their fans that got to follow them their entire careers. I think everybody knows how it feels to look back and remember how old you were when Jeter's career started, and here we are today -- much older, some of us with children of our own that will hopefully get to follow current stars in the same way. There's just that momentary sadness for nostalgic purposes where you miss those childhood memories like they were yesterday. I swear, there are certain memories that seem like yesterday and they're so long ago. Time feels like it goes by way too fast sometimes, so I guess we just appreciate being witness to great moments along the way, and Derek Jeter provided many of those. What a game.

Greatest -- my favorite athlete of all time, my favorite Yankee of all time - never forget he is number 6 on the all time MLB hit list - was Mister Clutch - a far better short stop then given credit for - a leader on and off the field - God bless Derek Jeter and his family!

I thank the universe every day for Derek because he’s the coolest man to ever walk the Earth. To say his Hall of Fame induction is well deserved is putting it way too lightly.

Honestly, regardless if you are a Yankees fan or not, please tell me the reason why Jeter didn't deserve to be in the H. O. F.? Got to be a personal bias because there is no reason, this guy has the stats to back him up and was a class act in and out of the field, played the game with integrity and dedication.

Who ever that person is that didnt vote for Jeter just didn't like him because Jeter is greatness, the Hall Of Fame should ask Jeter for permission to have his name there because that's how great he was, a icon forever.

Lol..there were better players than him who got less votes...at the end 1 no vote doesnt even count really..so the guy used it on another player who likely needed it

But Lippy notice the one person who handled that with dignity and grace when we all believed that guy slighted him! It was Jeter himself! He managed it like he did everything else in his life and career! He took it with a grain of salt!
