- In the Chan Mina system, I had a contract to hunt down a Thargoid Interceptor. I found two Federation Fleets destroyed, and one still had a Basilisk paired with a Medusa left lingering around. Then I came to the Samson Class Cargo ship and there a Cyclops was still at the scene of the crime.
The fight was pretty sloppy but I got the job done. Help suppress the Thargoid aggression in the Bubble!

I like how in the start, both ships “square up” by facing each other and completing a scan. Shame about the pitiful bounty reward for, you know, SAVING A CARGO SHIP
DarkNinjaCorporation agreed you would think it would be a lot more because a ship that size is billions of credits, greedy bastards, see if I save one of their ships ever.

oh! from the first encounter video I thought they were a really rare random event of finding an alien ship and that you weren't able to fight them. I see they are still very difficult to battle but "discovering they bleed" really tones down the level of how scary finding a real alien is.

I believe back in 2017 you couldn't fight themI think it was 2018 or 2019 when they started entering the bubble and started attacking ships

Its funny that you risked your vette like that, only to get 2 million cr? Meanwhile someone can do a simple planettary scan mission with sidewinder, public data, with 3 million cr reward for 10 minutes. They need to increase bounty reward... Nice vids commander o7!
Bebe for sure. I like the challenge of fighting the thargoids so to me its worth it. But as you said the bounties should be increased, especially with the higher variants.
Currently i am sitting on my unengineered conda... Gonna build up some money first, then after my ship is combat ready, will try to tackle this beast

So far, the combat and SOUND in this game rivals the big screen in pure spectacle.
I have the game, finally have a computer worthy of playing it, now I just need a proper controller. Unfortunately can't afford the Warthog, and reviews I've read on some of the HOTAS are iffy, so I'm thinking of buying a wired Xbox controller and calling it a start. Any recommendations for solid first stick/stick or stick/thruster combo I should be looking at?
a whole year ago BUT, I just started w/HOTAS and the X-56 is treating me nicely. I didn't want to spend too much in case I didn't like it, but I'm sold on HOTAS now and will upgrade someday

Because its only the "weakest" thargoid. the stronger versions yield more, up to 15 million per kill, but they are insanely difficult to face alone.

Hi again! I wanted to write back with a quick question... I have been playing more Elite Dangerous but don't normally explore planets or separate systems. I am very used to trading and have very limited combat experience. Do you have any recommendations on how to start effectively exploring and potentially combat? You seem like a very well versed fighter :)
Builds are normally ship specific and what you would like to be able to perform in combat/ exploration. If you have a ship in mind I can give my advice on what to do if you would like!

@@enfernoo that takes a bucket load an a half of experience and skill, not to mention engendering and farming for guardian modules and weapons. Loonie, state that he just getting into thargiod combat. So yeah going looking for a good vette build is more than reasonable.

Aah Elite Stupidous... I remember lovely idiotic limitations like turning around at Titanic's rotational speed. Or limited boosts cos it's ok to waste fuel to slow down at the end. It's so fun.

well, complete silence with nothing but the hum of your ship's electrical system broken by the occasional creak of the hull when hit by an enemy weapon would be boring. This game attempts a sort of sci-fi realism, but due to the nature of the beast, space combat sims will always require some suspension of disbelief.
Nice video but I can't help but think you could've killed it in 2-3 minutes if you trained all your guns onto it and stopped flying past all over the place.
I've never played this game, but here's my observations from the video.
I think he has to either deal with heat mitigation, or powering up weapons which can only be done intermittently, due to power/heat requirement.
So he flies away out of range of the enemy's weapons while these systems become prepared for another salvo/burst.
In addition, it looks like he's either evading or tackling the small swarm ships by disabling some of the auto pilot systems and doing a thing where he flies in a direction, but then rotates the ship and starts "drifting" backwards while facing the swarm.

No, it is hard to find these Thargoids and there are much faster ways of making money. This doesn't pay enough for what you are doing.

Shao Co. yeah if you’ve got a good ship that can handle the amount of heat that this thing puts out with the mixture of the swarms hitting your ship and the electronic bolts being fired at your ship, at that point with my high speed hit and run ship I would be destroyed easily because I need to constantly change heat sinks and at the same time be putting out a high volume of fire with the Viper Mk4 that I use.
@@jarikk333 Shoot I made almost 10 million shipping 140 units only 2 jumps away and took less time than this entire battle. These bounties are a joke.
2 million credits is scraping the bottom of the barrel and won't even pay for a fully outfitted Cobra MkIII (one of the early game multirole ships). You can make like 30 mill in 20 minutes laser mining platinum, and you can make up to 100 mill an hour running Robigo Mines to Sirius Atmospherics passenger missions. Also, the biggest ships in the game (Anaconda, Imperial Clipper, and this ship, the Federal Corvette) can cost up to half a billion credits to completely outfit and A-rate, by the time you do engineering and weapons and Guardian stuff and power play modules, etc.

I assume everyone in the game is literally ranked as a Commander, seeing as each player commands a small warship
It's not cringy, it's a reference to part of the game's history, from nearly 40 years ago. The default character name way back in the first Elite game (Commodore 64, 1985) was Commander Jameson. There are multiple references to Commander Jameson and his lineage in game, from every player pilot having the same rank as him, to Jameson Memorial station in Shinrarta Dezhra.
