That's a game feature to keep people from farming bounties. Keeps gankers from letting their friends kill them for a free 100 million.
You could not profit from from it. One person pays the 100 mil the other earns it. Besides there are already so many money making exploits anyway.
@@ln9296 ah well. Nonetheless, good fight, CMDR. Being AFK actually possibly saved you at the start there. I'm used to people flying toward me while getting a lock, but you stayed at zero throttle, which put a lot of extra distance between us by the time I fired. When you saw them coming at you, you turned and bolted. Had you just kept going, you could have gotten away and low-waked at your own leisure. That's a clever trick, I never thought about doing that to combat torpedoes. Just sitting, waiting, then bolting. Hm....
Yeah I had multiple opportunities to wake, but I wanted the immersive content. Thanks for providing!

The most fun I had with one was after I ran out of ammo in my krait and he noticed so we just started ramming.

Yeah I got pulled yesterday and the guy didn't say a word. Shields were down in 2 seconds and I tried fighting back but my unengineered pulse lasers did less than no damage to his shields so I boosted away and got out of there with 47% hull remaining. Lucky I was able to get out, and had he introduced himself and said something, I would've stayed in and let himm kill me, but not like this...

if you close the game through the task manager your ship just disappears, a combat timer would fix this though.. no idea why the devs haven't implemented one

There is if you try to leave the game legitimately through the game menu. Problem is a lot happens in 10 seconds.
@@Vevvev8 10 seconds is no where near enough. This game needs like a 60-90 sec log out timer even when the game is force closed.

@@otorvalds Well, to be fair most ships dont use point defense. Simply since missiles arent used that often and you need the slots for more critical parts of your build, like shield boosters and the things you use to flashcool your ship. So there is rarely a slot left which one would fill with PDF

a ship thats made to transport a lot of people has to be able to defend itself so having weapons is a must

Friends of mine picked up 75 million last weekend for killing someone. KWS activates all the bounties. I've seen the screen shots too. Not sure what it does to the other players Rebuy though.

False, my bounty in that system alone was 28 mil, I had closer to 75 mil across all systems. It still only lets one collect up to 2 mil.
Finally, after all these months of hearing stories about the mad beluga pilot... I finally found you, and have seen you in action. My friend, you are a folk hero. An urban legend among the people. I tip my hat to you. This was wonderful. I love how civilized you are about all of this, as well. It's so great.

Well, when you are in a trade ship and three Anacondas in a wing attack you without reason it's the other way around. I've never combat logged, but a crew like that deserves it for keeping open play so hostile.

When I used to play I always wanted to get the pack hound missiles, couldnt figure out how to get it done though, gave up playing!

Makes sense. Cascade torps are powerful but a one-and-done ordeal. Perfect for a passenger liner that needs to defend itself against a lone pirate

Went to Galaxy map, typed in Yamazaki Landing found out that it was out by Sol. Jumped to the Duamta system which is about 10 light-years away or so and found Duamta 7 which has icy rings; whipped out my system scanner, scan them, and went to the void opals hotspot with my ASP Explorer. Every time I fill up, I jump back to the Yamazaki Landing and sell my cargo.
Wish that those who attacked me did at least communicate with me while I was in Open Play, but 9/10 (or 9.5/10?) Was basically the rude kind of trolls/gankers. Attacking my ships without even saying an effin' word in the process.
Though I'm partially guessing that pledging to a power's one of the reasons, but being attacked by literally everyone else who's NOT pledged to the same power?
(Feds, Alliance or Indep. Powers attacking a Aisling Duval pledger, I can understand that, but those pledged to ARISSA DUVAL AS WELL?! W, T, F?!)

Turning a beluga into a battering ram is so much fun. You can boost their go so high it becomes a perfectly viable strategy to just fly THRU people.
I'm so pleased to see Zentzlb getting his arse kicked. He is one of the reasons I so seldom play open. Along with Ellerimkirli + one whose name I didn't get, jumped me the first time I played open. No warning. No reason, just common or garden arseholes.

They're not, though. Not really. It's not that simple. PvP and predatory gameplay are baked into the structure of the game, and are a big part of why so many of the kickstarter backers got on board in the first place. Not everyone knows that at first, now, going in, but it's the truth. ED is 1/5 exploration, 1/5 mining, 1/5 trade and missions, 1/5 PvE combat...and 1/5 PvP free-for-all. We don't all like it. I don't like it, which is why I often play Solo. But it's part of the game. If you dislike it, your problem is with FDev, not specific players.
Being an a-hole in a game is still being an a-hole. The only time I got ganked was by a wing of four while flying an empty T7 trader. No piracy, no reason other than an easy prey. It was no loss for me, little salt to be had. The sadness and anger I felt was 100% over the fact that some douchebags ger their kicks from something that low. I bet their mothers didn't love them or something.
@@janikaarela8540 Its a game with space ships and you can put guns on your space ship. Of course people are going to shoot each other. The fact that you decided to fly in an unarmed ship doesnt exempt you from being shot at.
@@ln9296 so putting guns on a T7 would make a difference? No. I wouldn't have a problem with being pirated, that's an actual in-game motivation. As opposed to mining salt.

2:27 torpedoes start getting shot down or hit him. From looks of it he actually shot down 1 to 3 torpedoes. Maybe if he kept his reverse speed at (at least) 200 he could take down more?
Last night, made 250,000,000 in 3 hours mining specifically for void opals, low temperature diamonds, grandidierite, and alexandrite. I think it was three hauls with about 50 or 60 cargo full in each.
Both of the pilots are true gents/ladies (don't want to be sexist now), its a nice thing to see non combat logging. Hats off to both of you, you are a credit to the game.
I'm trying to imagine the scenes in the passenger lounge in those last few minutes, drinks and canapés everywhere 😄

They're a powerplay reward weapon from Li Yong Rui. There's guides online on how to get them. It's tedious and takes a minimum of 3 weeks.
Rammed him to death. Is that basically the Elite Dangerous fighting. Also I don't think this guy bothered even fighting back.
He was screwing around at first, didn't think a Beluga was a threat. He was trying to shoot down my torpedoes. But by the time they hit, and his shields dropped, he panicked and tried to run. But I had his drives targeted. A few volleys later and he was dead in the water. One reboot would simply require another volley to un-do. He was boned.
That's the most wholesome battle lol

why did he try to shoot the torpedos.... thats not the best idea he should have tried to outrun them after that he could have taken you down at ease. but there will be allways players /cmdrs that dont think about Reverberating Cascade torpedos when they fight a "harmless" beluga

Condas aren't metas. I've blown so many of these with my FDL. They are pretty much useless against a CMDR who knows what they are doing. Granted, condas are beast in PvE tho.

There's no fine if you turn around and get out in time.
