@@MrHedgehog69 the biggest problem ive seen is that it is outclassed in just about every stat field by the other ships in its class. Honestly the best build i can think of is either a missle based or a rail based build. You wont be able to out turn anything and you wont be able to outrun anything so if you have a merger just boost in the opposing direction of the enemy and FA off before firing on the enemy as they get closer.

@@stratiosastero6880 A lot of people do/have done it in Krait MK II, it's the best ship for beginners in AX combat. After that, it's recommended to learn to use the Alliance Chieftain without shields. As for the Mamba, I'm a bit lazy to search for an answer, but I'd be willing to bet it has been done more than once. Also the Belluga, has been done as well. There's even a speedrun record for a Medusa kill in a Belluga in 3 minutes 15 seconds (here: th-cam.com/video/s6zUSGcDr8E/w-d-xo.html )
Literally everyone who played this game ever. I am gonna be honest I haven't played the game because i don't have a pc but i love this game it's so entertaining. I got to play it once and i visited Jackson's lighthouse.
So, the strategy was to take the fattest ship, fill it up with the guns and just shoot the Green guys til' death? Kind of straightforward, but I like this!

@@deman182 how is it profitable when your trading low,, the best way to ever make credits is passenger mission.. dont get me wrong I've only lost credits than gain credits mining. No suitable place for trades and takes a good chunk of your time for very low returns... Your making 15m in less than hour with a dolphin maxed at 45ly.
@@Shsishsgsk because as boring as Mining is Passagenger missions are more so considering the well paying ones want to go over 10000 LYs. Also how do you lose money mining?
@@deman182 i mean... at robigo with a 30LY jump python you can still do 100/120 mil per hour, with a 30LY jump you can easly do 20/25 million per run, wich takes about 10/12 minutes, if you are fast at picking missions and don't do the loop of shame XD
I always hoped that Frontier would add special capital ships designed by the factions to fight Thargoids. Imagine jumping into a distress call but instead of a busted fleet you see an imperial assault with AX equipped cutters and in the middle of it an imperial capital ship custom made with like 60 AX- cannons just peppring thargoids all over the place
@@JS-rv3et the little percentage point beneath the holographic representation of his ship on the right sight of the HUD. It's more or less a damage indicator, although, as somebody pointed out, your shield strength and hull integrity and all that stuff are separate numbers and his over all percentage didn't move much but he was actually hit really hard during this fight. He did have hull breaches and overheating issues but the ships also have lots of self-repair functions and he could very well have been repairing the damage as quick as he was receiving it. It was kind of an oversimplification. I do play the game but I'm terrible at surviving in combat and would never be able to fight a thargoid and win like he did.
@@JS-rv3et he was using a LOT of weaponry at once and the high damage weapons tend to build up a lot of heat very fast and the ships can dump their heat and if you have a high-end heat sink you can actually get the cockpit to freeze over like that pretty easily. I've seen that happen even when fuel scooping (you fly close to a star to gather fuel you can dump heatsinks to maintain a healthy temperature even while next to a star)
I actually read somewhere that said the Type 10 wasn't actually a very good anti-AX ship, in spite of being designed for it. Whoever wrote that clearly never flew it properly.
Unfortunately, cyclopses are piss easy. You can find videos of people defeating one with a hauler with a single gauss cannon. Doesn't make them any less satisfying to kill, but once you try fighting a basilisk or bigger you have to follow the meta to a T or you're screwed
Giving credit where credit is due, first off, fantastic video and gameplay! I keep finding myself returning to this just for the sheer thrills. While this may not be the quickest way to kill an interceptor, this is by far the most entertaining and exciting battle with one I've ever seen, plus great work on the music too! For anyone new to Elite Dangerous, unfortunately the epic tunes featured in this video are not in-game (although the in-game OST & sound design are amazing), the tracks used in this video are: 0:15 - 1:59 Final Boss by Santiago Chaparro 2:00 - 6:01 Deorc Decuple by FormantX (not sure but MatveichX may have mixed it up a bit) All in all, epic video, great sound editing/timing, and most dramatic Cyclops kill I've ever witnessed! Also added these tracks to my Thargoid fighting playlist :)
Kinda cool to see someone take down a Thargoid Interceptor without cold orbiting and guardian weapons. Might try building out an entry-level AX loadout for fun!

This all cannon option seems good , especially for beginners to Xeno combat like me . I have a T 10 and 4 AX cannons for my Krait . I may get some more and fit it out this way .
cyclops doesnt realy count for ax, you can literally kill them in a hauler or one shot them in a conda. For proper ax with the harder interceptors you need to come up with your own technique. Its not that there is a "cold orbiting meta" its just that stealth mechanics actually work viably in ax and therfore people stay cold. But you can fly however you like if you stick to a few things
If your just in space you hear nothing but the sound wave will still hit the ship ( that hopefully has air in it ) also sound travels through objects as well)

Been playing about a year and half now, and only ever killed some of the smaller Thargoids. You made that cyclops kill look like it was easy.
