But along came humans, a more advanced life form who impose order on nature for their own advantage. Humans decided they wanted to keep such creatures around, and working for them. But today, Banana trees, and. Seedless Oranges, Corn, and other living species have been crafted to serve people first, and foremost, AND couldn't continue without human support. The Founders don't really respect their subjects, no matter how loyal and how close to them. If Betazoids were better, or could be altered to be better than the Vorta, would the Vorta have been discontinued like the Oldsmobile, and their numbers slowly diminished down to zero, in a few Centuries?

One of the things I've always appreciated about Salome Jens' delivery as the Founder was how rarely she lost her cool, or was even remotely uncivil to her enemies. Kira and Garak have her cornered and when Garak kills Weyoun, she just calmly, but with genuine regret, says, "I wish you hadn't done that." As another commenter points out, it reinforces that she thinks of Weyoun more as property than person, but the regret in her voice is still real.
@@Vhailor_Mithras He may have hoped that a different Vorta would be assigned to the position. At the very least, having a new Weyoun tended to shift the power dynamic in his favour, if only temporarily.

When weyoun 6 committed suicide, this was in season 7. Odo had become a changeling again. I can’t remember the whole episode but if Weyoun 6 hadn’t killed himself, it seems like Weyoun 7 could have been executed himself if the Jem’Hadar had actually destroyed the ship that Odo was on.

Ah, Garak. Murdering an unarmed prisoner because he annoyed you. That whole Federation Root Beer thing hasn't quite worked yet has it? Losing 3 Weyouns in one year is just careless.

I literally bumped into Jeff Combs at Destination Star Trek in Birmingham in 2018. He was walking around the NEC hall and we collided. I apologised and so did he. I realised who he was and all I could think to say was “Hope you’re having a great day.” He said he was and hoped the same for me. I shook his hand and off we went. But hearing his voice, so similar to Weyouns, in my own ears, in person so to speak…..that was VERY cool. And he was very friendly too. Elsewhere around here, someone compared the Vorta to bananas.
What about corn, or cows as well?
In the past, such life forms existed on their own, feral.
Good bet the Vorta are "Functionally Extinct", with their species now consisting of only a few dozen or less genetic templates?
@@trazyntheinfinite9895 Actually, I don't think I answered your question in my last reply.
The Dominion may have Weyoun's genetic templates on file, but there is no guarantee they will generate any more. 😞
I've wondered if they had subjugated the Federation, would the Founders over time replaced the Vorta with Betazoids?
The Founders don't really respect their subjects, no matter how loyal and how close to them.
If Betazoids were better, or could be altered to be better than the Vorta, would the Vorta have been discontinued like the Oldsmobile, and their numbers slowly diminished down to zero, in a few Centuries?
Mouthing off to a pissed off Garrick. He lucky he was only shot
I didn't pick up on the "tranporter incident" before. But seeing as how Weyoun turns his head towards Domar when saying so.......well...yeah...
I know it's supposed to be intense, but every time I see Worf snap Weyoun 7's neck, I laugh like an idiot 😆
Weyoun: I’m glad to see you find the death of my predecessor so amusing.
So does Damar hahahahaha.
Maybe you should talk to Worf again🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣...
I love how damar says "PICK THAT UP! And let's go"
I really like that interaction with the founder:
“Founder, perhaps we should consider moving you to a safer location”
“And just where would that be?”
Like lol weyoun we’re surrounded
Wonder what Weyouns 1-3 were like and how they died.
Weyoun 1 sank into the swamp. So they cloned another one. Weyoung 2 sank into the swamp. So they cloned a third. Weyoun 3 burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But Weyoun 4 stayed up!
@@waltonsimons12 so he's Swamp Weyoun? 🤣🤣🤣
I love the MP reference!
such a timeless character and yet, so expendable 🤣
That look Weyoun 7 gave Damar when he mentioned how Weyoun 5 died 😅😅😅
Probably my favorite character played by Jeffrey Combs.
Commander Shran was his best character.
@@keithallver2450 I admit Shran was also a great character, but I still consider Weyoun to be his best. Shran was brash and straightforward, but complex enough in his sense of honor. Weyoun was far more complex in his subtle manner and manipulative tactics. I believe it would have taken him far more effort to play Weyoun.
I vote for a one off episode where all Jeff Combs characters meet, all played by him 😁
@@dangingerich2559 Let's not forget Herbert West. Combs was already a long time horror movie veteran by this point so he had plenty of time to master his craft.
@@azuretiger-kfpmarketingstr6018 I was never a big fan of the Reanimator movies, or most horror movies, but I'd say his performance of that character looks pretty good, from what I did see of it.
I was just saying Weyoun is my favorite. it doesn't mean it should be yours. To each their own.
Watching Weyoun die multiple times was the best part about his character.
3:15 one of the most touching and sincere moments in the entire series. DS9 has the best character development and story lines by far! None of the other series even came close. Hell I even found myself being sympathetic toward the dominion at times. Feeling bad for the Jem’hadar. Loving the vorta race and even cheering for the cardassians. In TNG I fully supported the romulans and found the Vulcans to be the bad guys. DS9 even validated my feelings about the Vulcans when they made a Vulcan serial killer who used pure logic to murder random ppl
Oh my God! You killed Weyoun!
You bastards!
"i was hoping you'd say that"
In the Dommoin they don't say you got a closet full of skeletons. But a closet full of Weyouns
One of the things I've always appreciated about Salome Jens' delivery as the Founder was how rarely she lost her cool, or was even remotely uncivil to her enemies. Kira and Garak have her cornered and when Garak kills Weyoun, she just calmly, but with genuine regret, says, "I wish you hadn't done that."
As another commenter points out, it reinforces that she thinks of Weyoun more as property than person, but the regret in her voice is still real.
She was a malevolent entity. A pitiless and cruel tyrant.
The kind that Q WARNED Picard about in season 2 tng
Weyoun was the only person in existence that could make Odo do a “wtf” double take 😝
Weyoun: I’m glad to see you people find the death of me and my predecessors so amusing.
Defector Weyoun was probably the happiest Weyoun of all... Probably happiest of all Vorta.
1:25 I never picked up on the subtext that it was Damar that killed Weyoun 5 before
That bugs me. Like what was the point if he was going to come back?
@@Vhailor_Mithras Possibly Damar didn't know they were clones, he seems pretty disappointed here.
@@Vhailor_Mithras
He just enjoyed doing it.
@@monkeyman767 True. The look on his face is pretty unamused or bored.
@@Vhailor_Mithras He may have hoped that a different Vorta would be assigned to the position. At the very least, having a new Weyoun tended to shift the power dynamic in his favour, if only temporarily.
I use that "very thorough investigation that has found no sign of foul play" type of voice every chance I get. lol
Odo and weyun were in the ship together for hours alone and all he found out from the one person who knew the most about the dominions war plan, was something they already knew (but not any details about it) and the vortas favourite food. WTF odo
Star Trek online has number 9, and he dies as well.
“OMG, they killed Weyoun!”
“You bastards!”
I've been hoping to find a compilation like this! Thanks. 😊
No problem. I've also compiled the Borg Collective and Breen speaking if you're interested.
I like how the Jem'hadar First waited until Weyoun put down the case of white before vaporizing him.
"Oh no!...anyway,"
- everyone
“I’m looking forward to meeting Weyoun 9.” Damar. 😂
I love how Jeffrey is playing the same character but with each different version he brings something new with little quirks that lets you know it’s a different Weyoun
you know as a villain i liked Weyoun just in general, there was actually something likable about him
Picard, how many weyouns did you see on the show?
Picard: There were...FOUR WEYOUNS!!
... And speaking of the Weyoun character, I was wondering if you could upload the scene where Jake tries to interview him. I always thought the Weyoun was particularly charming in that scene.
And thus the Year 2375 was known as the Year of the Weyouns...
Weyoun clearly didn't watch TNG because if he had, he would know you DO NOT insult Worf's mate.
3:42 I love how effortlessly Worf defeats Weyoun.
Even funnier, why weren't any Jem'Hadar escorting Weyoun, given that Cardassian-Dominion relations were faltering by then?
@@jmwoods190 Isn't it obvious? Overconfidence, the hallmark of the Weyouns.
It makes me laugh like a fool every time
Dumars laugh 😂
A classic moment of Star Trek
How'd they get all his memories and everything updated perfectly to the new clone?
Genetic memory, maybe a cybernetic implant that stores the memories
How about this for am answer to such a question;
Do you really want to know? 🤔
The only way to find out would be to get even more involved with the Dominion.
regular backups
I assume it wasn't exactly *perfect*, maybe weekly memory backups, with any additional information manually provided as needed once each clone was activated
Every time a Weyoun dies, an angle gets his wings.
DS9 is in many ways the best star trek. it has so much to offer. Mabey that is because its the darkest of all the star treks.
Well put together video.
Thank you.

"How many different roles has Jeffery Combs played for Star Trek?!"
"Yeah, but you can only count Weyoun once."
Remember the same actor played Shran on the enterprise series too!
The Star Trek version of Southpark always killing Kenny. OMG! They killed Weyoun! You Bastards! 😂😅
"He was killed in a transport accident a-"
Damar: "AND IT'S A TOTAL MYSTERY HOW IT HAPPENED AND WE SHOULD STOP INVESTIGATING."
Ah, Garak. Murdering an unarmed prisoner because he annoyed you. That whole Federation Root Beer thing hasn't quite worked yet has it?
Losing 3 Weyouns in one year is just careless.
That is a very sharp comment! 😆👏⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
hey that weyoun reached for his gun go ahead prove he didn't
That Weyoun had just made a joke of the murder of millions of Cardassians and the destruction of its cities. I think we can give Garak a break on that killing.
@@marley7868 And shot first...
@@waynecrockett3685 At season's end, Garak said "what's left of it" to grieving Bashir.
O'Brien still died more times than him too.
I was hoping the video would include that scene where Damar taunts Weyoun 8, saying, "maybe you should talk to Worf again!"
Very entertaining, nonetheless!
OH MY FOUNDERS!!! THEY’VE KILLED WEYOUN!!!
Those p'toks!
About an hour or so later, I had a photo shoot with Andrew Robinson who played Garak. And if he wasn’t even friendlier!!! Super enthusiastic and happy to meet everyone.
So I met “Weyoun” and “Garak” all in one day (amongst others) and it was a GOOD day. 😁
Oh you misjudge me.
I miss him greatly
3:49 Worf's chiropractic skills at work!!! 🤣😂
4:37 Pick that up and let's go!!!🤣😂
2375: The Year of the 4 Weyouns.
Every time a Weyoun dies, a Damar gets his smile.
In Beta universe Weyoun 2 had a relationship with a previous Kilana clone, Weyoun 9 helped Odo run the Dominion and an alternate reality Weyoun 5 became Kai of Bajor.
Not forgetting my personal favourite, Weyoun of Borg
Garak looks so pleased with himself
Maybe he should talk to Worf again ;)
"Perhaps you should try talking to Worf again."
I forgot Damar assassinated weyuon 5 with a transporter fuckup
2375 was a bad year for Weyouns.
Vorta are stated to have an immunity to poisons, and considering the way they generally behave to others, you have to wonder how many Vorta they went through before the Founders thought it prudent to add that to their genetic template.
2375......Not a good Weyoun year!
0:28 the gold shirt reaction when Weyoun get disintegrated next to him
Wow, 2375 was a rough year for Weyoun...
I enjoy very much how the Jemhadar and vorta and just basically dogs pining for the founders passive aggressive scraps
Damn, Weyoun! You really give 'Clones' a 'bad' name, fella!
Anyone else curious about Weyoun 5's mysterious death by transporter?!
Undoubtedly, Damar was responsible, especially after the way the Vorta had treated him.
@@darthplagueis66 Considering he specifically destroyed the cloning facility that's used to replace Weyoun... I'd say that transporter incident was clearly just an accident
When weyoun was looking over at Damar after he mentioned they never did an investigation or found out who operated the controls, it pretty much told me who did it. Damar mentioned there was no foul play 😆 Im sure there wasn't after weyoun 5 was dematerializing. Damar: Whoops 😆😂! I laughed my head off 😂
@@InfernosReaper That was later, after he had started the Cardassian Rebellion. Damar being responsible for the transporter accident makes sense, not only because of his hatred of Weyoun 5, but also because it took out a single person in less traceable manner. Damar was likely interested in getting rid of Weyoun 5 specifically, not necessarily the whole line. He may have even hoped that a different Vorta would be assigned to take Weyoun's place. In any case, at the time, he still was rooting for the Dominion (and by extension, Cardassia) to win the war, so he wouldn't have sought to destroy an entire facility to eliminate one person, especially since such an action could be traced back to him. After he rebelled, he didn't have those limitations.
@@darthplagueis66 Weyoun specifically points out that there were more strategic places Damar could have attacked instead.
