I love the video and the modifications for being somebody in the wheelchair lowering the vehicle actually makes it easier for me at least to get inside so my friend did the same to her camper van it made it more awesome than it already was

Looks great I am going to get mine done most probably stick to 30mm sportline springs which were pretty decent for a budget. Getting the same colour Ocean next June ish now not going for the Fontana red after some careful thought. Enjoy.
Looks awesome guys ... we bought ourselves a Mohave Beige 6.1 with 20inch wheels, front bumper kit etc .. arriving end of Feb. Hopefully it will look as good as yours!

Great Video! Van looking sweet. I personally rate Transporter HQ number 1 for all their products and build quality, and after speaking to a number of people at Busfest this weekend....many of them mentioned the high levels of service they have experienced too.👌 look forward to seeing what's next 😎

I’m genuinely pleased for you that you like the new setup but have to say I preferred the stock look. I’ve never been particularly bothered by lowered suspension or customisation. Will you be selling your VW wheels? 😀

any reason you didn´t choose something like the vb-air suspesion with the auto leveling for camping and the capabilty to lower for park decks and pump up for "light" offroad use. the auto level is a very strong selling point for me
I’ve always been concerned about the reliability and potential on going costs of air suspension. I’ve heard great things about the vb air suspension but we chose coilovers for their reliability and lower initial cost
@@ABusAndBeyond thats a fair point, ) with the stock suspension our marco polo wouldn´t fit our garage so we choose the air suspension to lower it cause with our dog we drive to many bad forest roads for a fixxed low ride height. on the bright side even the air ride is cheaper than a new garage door :-)

Van looks great. I wasn't brave enough to go for the 20 inch wheels on mine. Hopefully the new suspension will help with any harshness from the low profile tyres. 👍
Good quality coilover's make such a difference to the ride and comfort.

This is about 60mm lower than standard
This does look superb. Will you ever think about doing a follow-up video about living with the lowered suspension and what the ride is like and so on?

Looking fantastic mate! We're getting a Coast early next year some time and would like to do the wheels and suspension......... What does this do to the warranty?!
I’m sure it affects the warranty of anything suspension related but that will now be covered by Bilstein. I suspect it’s similar to when a camper conversion company modifies a Transporter, the camper side of things is covered by the converter. But for complete peace of mind you’d be best checking with VW before purchasing

Wheels looks sick but will be a pain in the bottom to clean though!
They look awesome, I'm at work and had to quickly skip through it, did anyone mention the speedo might be out? Ours was out by 7mph at 70mph
With a 275/35/20 it should be pretty much spot on. Lots fit 275/40/20 which is incorrect. This will put the speedo out.
@@THQAutomotive That would probably explain why mine is out, mine has 275/40/20 on. Might have them changed as you have to be a bit keen with the speed cameras when your speedo is under reading... cheers THQ

Insurance is fine as long as you let them now. It only effects your suspension warranty but thats all been changed anyway :)

It cost £9.50 extra on our insurance when we informed them of the change 👍
Must confess, I'm with your parents on that Polo discussion - I love pimped vehicles, and have decent wheels on all of mine - but a breadbox Polo - hmmmm, even I would have passed on that.
Wheels look epic, and the Bilstein kit looks interesting, will wait and see what cost it appears on Transporter HQ's website. As I need to level my van, as the rear weight makes it lean back very slightly - and I would love to level it off.

Quick question for both Shaun and Transporter HQ, would this Wheel/Tyre combo also be suitable for the heavier California Ocean? and looking in the drop down section on Transporter HQ I can't see these tyre profiles mentioned? and do you offer fitting?
Yes 275/35/20 is load rated to 102 which is good for 850kg a corner. If you wanted to go more then 265/40/20 is 104 rated which is 900kg a corner. This wheels is rated to 955kg a corner so more than enough.

Only your suspension warranty, but that’s all totally changed now.

Tyre fitter needs training to align the dots with the tyre valve,
They're there for a reason 😉👍
Yes this is normally the case with most wheels. Super Metal wheels actually come with a red dot on the wheels itself to line up with the tyre. Don't worry, all our tyre fitters are full trained. If you check at 13:03 you'll see :)

I'm sure you're all over this, and I don't want to be "that bore" that mentions it but assume insurance all up to date with the mods? Finally Churchill tyres? Have they come recommended? I'm looking for some new ones for my Kuga. PS the bus looked great on the new wheels!
First thing I have had to think of when considering a camper is where I live. We have sleeping policemen and roundabouts at every turn. A drivers nightmare and even more so with items rattling around in the back of a camper. Losing my dream because of negotiating such. Can't afford to move, so campervan is once again back on the back burner. 😱

Never understood why people would lower a campervan, a car that is being used to travel and to be put on bumpy grass fields etc.
Lowering a Car like a VW Bus does not make sens for me. It is a TravelCar. You will have Problems with bumpy Roads like in Scotland. Maybe that makes Sense on a Tesla. But not on a Cali. Sorry. The Rims are ok, but i like the Understatement of the original VW Rims much more.
Lowering this vehicle will make the ride so much better. These dampers are so much more advance than the standard damper and springs VW fit. The original suspension on this is the same as a Transporter panel van, they aren't built for comfort. The ride on this set up with give less body roll, less bounce and a more comfortable softer ride.
@@THQAutomotive will VW learn from this? they sell you a vehicle for 60K which you then have to spend 3K to put right.
@@pt712 No one says you need to spending £3k. It just depends what you want to achieve and it you want to improve the ride and handling. If VW fitted this suspension as standard, of course the price would be more from the factory.
Transporter HQ Do you have any VW warranty safe options?
Standard is best..
The "upgraded" van looks terrible with that wheel colour and if you have to jack it up to adjust the ride height then I guess that it won't be changed very often
Out of interest what would be the cost of this "upgrade" to a normal member of the public ?
You have no need to adjust the height as we've set up just right. Its would only be if Shaun decided to go lower or decide to change the wheel and tyre size. The upgrade is the best of the best. This suspension isn't available yet but I would expect this suspension and wheel combo to cost around £3000 including fitting.

Churchill tyres????you are carrying very precious cargo.
They are actually an impress British Brand of tyre. Decent wet grip, fuel and noise rating for the price. I've run them on several vehicles and found them great value for money and they've lasted really well.
