Vanworx have brought out a more budget friendly VW T6.1 Camper Van that comes in at just over £45k. When you consider a lot of other conversions in the same van are around the £55k and above mark its well worth having a look if you're thinking of buying a new T6.1 Camper Van.

Nice van but agree with others that the VW badge adds too much to the cost. Shop around would be my advice and consider other base vehicles. A review of Hillside would be helpful for those who insist on a VW.

Oh and IMHO a heater is essential kit.
I continue to envy the options you have in the UK and Europe for easy to drive, yet still comfortable, camper vans. VW stopped selling the predecessor vehicle in the United States about 20 years ago. Then, there is the question of the generally lovely campgrounds you have shown us in the U.K.. Thanks for doing this. Best wishes for a safe delivery, a healthy mother and a healthy baby.
Nice van but we have just ordered a Cali (mainly down to you two 😃) reason just the versatility of the seating, the fridge position and chairs stashed in the tail gate, what’s not like. Great review again.

Ahh nuts. Just finished fitting the denim blue units with the bamboo worktop in our T6. When my wife sees this she's going to feel like she's turned up at the Christmas do in her fab new dress only to find that younger new secretary that everyone is talking about has turned up in the same outfit. I'd best hide the MacBook!

Like the windows on kitchen side but not worth £45k for low spec engine, manual gears, no heating, no roll out awning, no LPG point, back seats are fixed and can't move. Shop around folks.
I still scratch my head round this concept I see this more of a day trip every day vehicle with occasional overnight use.
So youre buying a very nice panel van? Restrictions on speed too. Shame.
@@evobobber Guess again, under 3.05t unladen and interior meets MH requirements ... you need to check what that means.
You can get a brand new California Coast for £49k so to me personally, with the residual values being lower compared to a genuine Cali, this conversion is not good value for money

@richtea78 you also have to haul round alot more van. Not the most practical of vehicles. If I was in the market for a motorhome I wouldn't be looking at transporter conversions. But thanks for your input

Minute 03:15, I am lost for words an almost sold :) ...please go on to introduce reachable solutions like this. You both do a brilliant job, if I may say so. Thank you! I wonder if they could equip a EU Continent vehicle as well if I would bring mine over? Before that I would let mount the pop top of Teracamper which is very special, solid and has height on front and back...and a magnificient bed :)....Just a thought. Starting dreaming...
Immediate thoughts.. Table stored in the boot means you have to unpack the boot to get at it. If you stored it on top of your stuff in the boot you then risk it flying forward if you have to slam your brakes on, or worse, and killing someone. Ditto with the gas bottle, it’ll get blocked. Why when there’s a cupboard to the right that wouldn’t get blocked by stuff in the boot. The thing that I really don’t understand about all these campers is the insistence on having glass tops on the hob and sink. So likely to be stood on when climbing up/down the roof bed. Also have to be careful about what you put on them and you can’t use them as a worktop. Colour is nice, like the curtains with top and bottom rails, like water system but no heater! Still seems expensive considering price of the base vehicle. Looking to purchase a new van and get it converted. Recommendations anyone?

SHAWN& LIZZIE, , Hello, your is an 6.1 `also, but the specs are different, now that electric top is neat, but I suppose it could be manually operated, if problems arise, but these new ones, do they have storable chairs , like yours ?, & I think there tyres are larger rims than yours . Not great value when compared to the new T6.1 Coast. For a base price of £55k you will get, 150bhp auto DSG, heater, Ocean kitchen and seating. Chars and table like an Ocean and the wind out awning. You can negotiate 10% off the base price. The Coast is great value.
I was just thinking the same. An ex demo coast with only 800 miles was on Autotrader with a few expensive options for £47950. No question which to go for...

Hi there. Congratulations on the new addition to the Bus and Beyond family. Hope you're all getting at least a little sleep! We were wondering about the colour of the cabinets in this van? On the website, there are a number of blue options to choose from. Is this one Sky Blue? It looks very bright on the reckoner.

The big problem they will have with these is the price. With the Coast coming out and available for £49,500...its hard to justify spending the same amount on a conversion when you can get the real thing for the same price.
This really should be £39k to make them a viable alternative option to the California.

This is a crazy amount of money.
Agree with other comments. Dsg much better and worth extra. Heating a must in campervan. 110 hp gets worse mpg then higher hp models. Barn doors are better as can store more as with one you have if store too much fall out when open tailgate. Sliding rear bench seat much better then fixed especially if swb. 45k is to much for this. For about 50k you should once this rush of people buying these is over get a fully specked one new. Wait until Xmas when there will be a glut of used nearly vans for sale as people will be unable to afford payments.

Can’t understand how spending £50k on a van conversion is acceptable. These conversion companies must make an absolute fortune.
I agree with you... How about one of these based on a "BIG" Ford Transit from 43,760 EUR? Trouble is Karmann may not sell in the UK but you could always order a RHD version...?

@@dinkydaz6711Your wrong.. You need to do a bit more homework. Read the DVLA guidance. You need a combination of the external requirements, not all of the requirements, to qualify.
@@evobobber Your wrong too. Once its registered as a campervan the speed restrictions that apply to panel vans or a van with windows no longer exist. Highway Code ...is a good read....

Far too small. Nowhere to put 2 peoples clutter. Looks great empty
