Mi Abuela, mi tios y mi tias on the motherside (ella primos) hablamos filipino espanol. As for my self, I've been learning using popular language apps since last year.
Wow! Such an interesting video! I like the easy way Los Filipinos Channel explains historical and cultural topic of their country. Waiting for the next episode! 😃. Mabuhay 🎉
Back when most people were uneducated elite meant being educated and not working as a farmer, laborer, small merchant, or servant. Teacher, priest, engineer, doctor, lawyer, military officer, non-commissioned officer, journalist, or anybody who worked in an office with documents, had to be educated. Since only 20% of the population had these professions, they were considered elite. Today, most people who fall into these professions are just middle class.
CLARIFICATION- We would like to take this opportunity to say that “working class” has many different definitions, and in the video, it is used in its broadest sense, that of people who earn income from their labor or work, as against the “leisure class” who earn passive income and can live off their wealth.
Of course, I speak English as well.

As a cuban living in the US I know that the next generation will not be speaking Spanish, sadly.
