@@espewisneski buenas dias hermano/hermana, muchisimas gracias for asking. Basically chavacano was the result of what the Spanish colonial government taught our people here before, along with some of the Mexicans that were brought here all the way from Acapulco.
The Spanish never taught the majority indios proper Spanish only the mestizos and so as a result the spoken language was chavacano which I understand is " in bad taste." Overtime the creole language took more words from the other local spoken languages, Tagalog, Bisayan, Tausugs, Chinese, Malay and etc.
Given enough lessons and practice native chavacano speakers easily learn how to speak modern Spanish... However I am plojo and have yet to convince my friends to try learn.

@espewisneski Correct. As a country colonized by Spain the king of Spain assigned the Mexican government to be the direct Provincial capital of the Philippines during that time that is why we have lots of Mexican people and mixed Filipino-Mexican in the Philippines until today. We are also influenced by their different Spanish words different from Spanish of Spain. Mexican Spanish is somewhat hard and heavy compared to Spanish of Spanish which soft and smooth.

a mature woman has gently put her left arm across the shoulder of a young woman, both nicely dressed. Both stand with their backs towards the beholder and the older woman points to somewhere in the far distance.
The name of the painting was :
"Spain shows the Philippines its great future."

I think your grandmother is one of the last speakers of spanish, most of them are not recorded by the government, I hope you try and learn spanish and speak to her. She's a living treasure of our culture. Note that, even today, some of the last spanish speakers in our country speak it as second language. :D just like english.

In the Philippines there were (most likely still are) families who spoke Spanish to one another --- my father and several relatives spoke impeccable Spanish --- the nuns in my Catholic school spoke Spanish and for a long time Spanish was included in the school curriculum until an act of Congress abolished it ( I was no longer living in the Philippines when it happened) --- but the Filipinos have Spanish names, celebrate fiestas, semana santa, misas de aguinaldo during Christmas, share media noche or noche buena --- the days of the week: lunes, martes, miercoles etc. are in Spanish and Filipinos can count in Spanish: uno, dos, tres, --- words like tenedor, kutsara, silya are derived from Spanish --- suckling pig is called lechon de leche --- not to mention the Catholic religion --- so the Spanish influence is very much alive and well.

There are 2 other Chabacano varieties in the Philippines. 1 - Chabacano de Ciudad de Cavite y Chabacano de Ternate. Both are in the Province of Cavite in Luzon. 30 minutes south of Manila. Chabacano de Ciudad de Cavite is basically Spanish with Tagalog, spoken in Cavite City. The other is Chabacano de Ternate is a mixture of Tagalog, Spanish, Portuguese and Bahasa Indonesia , and spoken in Ternate in Cavite. For the explanation you can search 'Ternate Island, Indonesia' and look for the history.

🍿THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age in which God is saving man from the imminent destruction of this old world"
(The Almighty God is Almighty, fulfilling-the-all and absolute true God! He manages seven Plague and the seven bowls and opened the seven thunders, long time ago He had sounded the seven trumpets! All the people should wake up and should be rejuvened and singing praised the Almighty, the very, revealed-all, abundant, glorious and true God from eternity. His throne should be above, His divine name is praised and glorified. It is more than that I am, the Almighty God will be revealed and gained by Glory and honor. Fast to praise and accept the Almighty God forever gives us loving-kindness, salvation, providing blessings to us, His children are perfect and successfully acquired His Kingdom. It is God's eternal and arrangement, that He Himself came to save us, to make us perfect and to bring us to glory. Therefore our spirits should wake up! All of these people should see God's wisdom, this is His wonderful way of saving, and the fulfillment of His glorious will. Witnessing for God and raise God forever, raise the Almighty God. The Christ of the Last Days-the Eternal, Nothing, and the True God! You must hear and believe in speaking of God's Spirit, walk the path of God's Spirit and live the words of the Spirit of God, and more above the throne of God Almighty forever. The Almighty God is the God of seven Spirits! Of seven eyes and seven stars are also; He opens the seven seals, and the Scriptures He opened all! The Church has done Him completely, He established His church messenger and all the churches were within His financing.)
      The Almighty God said
The ALMIGHTY GOD is Almighty, fulfilled-the-All and FULLY TRUE GOD! Not only did He carry the seven stars, possesses the seven spirits, there are seven eyes, OPENING the SEVEN SEALS and OPENING the SCRIPTURES, but MORE THAN that He GOVERNS the SEVEN PLAGUES and the SEVEN BOWLS and OPENING the SEVEN THUNDERS, long ago driven He has the SEVEN TRUMPETS! EVERYTHING CREATED and DONE by Him must PRAISE Him, give Him GLORY and RAISE His THRONE. O, ALMIGHTY GOD! 🛑🙏
You are every thing, you have fulfilled every thing, and all of you are perfect, all is bright, all freed, all are free, all is strong and powerful! THERE is NOTHING HIDING or COVERED, to you ALL MYSTERIES are REVEALED. More, you CONDEMN the SUFFOCATION of your ENEMIES, you SHOW your MAJESTY, showing your FLAMING FIRE, showing your WRATH, and GREATER thou SHALT SHOW your nothing like, ETERNALLY, FULL-ENDLESS GLORY! 🙏
All the towns should wake up and should rejoice and sing proudly praising the Almighty, the true, revealing-all, prosperous, glorious and true God from eternity. His throne should be above constant, his divine name is praised and glorious and true God from eternity to eternity. 🌺
His THRONE should be ABOVE, His DIVINE NAME is PRAISED and GLORIFIED. This is the ETERNAL WILL of My GOD and this is the INFINITE BLESSINGS He REVEALS and PROVIDES us! Who among us does not inherit it? To inherit God's blessings, ONE must RAISE the DIVINE NAME of GOD and COMES to WORSHIP by TRAVELING the THRONE.
Everyone who leads before Him with other motives and other purposes will be killed by his flaming fire. Now is the day that His enemies will be judged, and they will also be destroyed today. Moreover this is the day I, the Almighty God will reveal and gain glory and honor. 🌺
O, ALL TOWN! STAY FAST to PRAISE and ACCEPT the ALMIGHTY GOD forever GIVES us LOVING-KINDNESS, SALVATION, PROVIDING BLESSINGS to us, MAKING His CHILDREN PERFECT and successfully ACQUIRED His KINGDOM! 💫🕍
This is the wonder God! It is GOD'S ETERNAL and ARRANGEMENT, that He HIMSELF CAME to SAVE us, to MAKE us PERFECT and to BRING us to GLORY. 🌺
All of them who do not stand and witness are the ancestors of the blind, the kings of ignorance and they will be the eternal foolish, eternal fools and the eternal blind dead. 😢 THEREFORE OUR SPIRITS should WAKE UP! EVERYONE should STAND! Exalt, praise and RAISE the KING of GLORY forever, the FATHER of COMPASSION the SON of REDEMPTION, the ABUNDANT SEVEN SPIRITS, and the ALMIGHTY GOD who brings the MAGNIFICENT FLAMING FIRE and RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT, which is enough- In all, PROSPEROUS, POWERFUL, and PERFECT. 🌺
His THRONE will be RAISED forever! ALL of these PEOPLE should SEE GOD'S WISDOM, this is His WONDERFUL WAY of SAVING, and the FULFILLMENT of His GLORIOUS will. If we are not going to stand and witness, when this moment is then there is no return. Whether we are to gain blessings or misfortune is determined in this current stage of our journey as we do, think and live at this time. 🌺
Then how do you behave? WITNESS for GOD and RAISE GOD forever, RAISE the ALMIGHTY GOD. The CHRIST of the LAST DAYS-the ETERNAL, None, and the True God! 🙏 ☀️
From now on you must see clearly all those who do not witness for God, who do not bear witness for the unique, true God, those who have blessed doubts about him, they are all sick, dead and those who fight against God! 😢
The WORDS of GOD have PROVEN from ANCIENT TIMES: all those who do not gather with Me are spreading, and those who are not with Me are against Me; It is a non-renewable fact that is being carved into the rock! THOSE who do NOT WITNESS for GOD are DEVILS of SATAN. These people are approaching to disrupt and deceive the children of God, to disrupt and deceive the children of God, to disturb God's rule, and they must be killed! 😪
Whoever shows them good intentions is looking for their own destruction. YOU must HEAR and BELIEVE in the SPIRIT of GOD'S Spirit, WALK the PATH of the Spirit of GOD and LIVE the WORDS of the Spirit of GOD, and MORE ABOVE the THRONE of God Almighty forever! 🙏
The ALMIGHTY GOD is the GOD of SEVEN Spirits! Of SEVEN EYES and SEVEN STARS is also; He OPENED the SEVEN seal, and the SCRIPTURES OPENED ALL! He SOUNDED the SEVEN TRUMPETS, and the SEVEN BOWLS and SEVEN PLAGUES were in His HANDS, to POUR OUT ACCORDING to His will. Or, the SEVEN THUNDERS have ALWAYS been CLOSED! The MOMENT to OPEN them has COME! He who opens in the seven thunder has shown that in front of our eyes! ALMIGHTY GOD! All of You are FREED and FREE, without SUFFERING, and EVERYTHING FLOWS well! No man is going to block or deter You, all submit to You. Any not submitting everyone is dying! ALMIGHTY GOD, GOD with SEVEN EYES! EVERYTHING is COMPLETELY CLEAR, ALL are BRILLIANT and OPEN, all are REVEALED and NAKED. To Him ALL is CLEAR as CRYSTALS, and NOT only GOD HIMSELF is this, but also His CHILDREN are ALSO. No one, no matter, and no circumstances will be covered before him and his children! The seven stars of Almighty God are brilliant! 🌺
The CHURCH has DONE Him COMPLETELY, He ESTABLISHED His church MESSENGER and ALL the CHURCHES were WITHIN His FINANCING. He opens all seven seals, and He HIMSELF CARRIES His PLAN.
From "The WORD Appears in the Flesh"
Fulfillment of (John 1:1) and (Ezekiel 2:9-10), (Rev. 19:9,13)
📥Calling and leading everyone to His lowered Kingdom or Church because it is still standing on earth in the holy place in the air/ youtube "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD 💐 this is the fulfillment of what He said to Peter 2,000 years ago, recorded in (Matthew 16:18'19).
This is the the only Church of each one of our spirit that we must listen to or eat and drink like how we eat, dress and sleep every day so that He can guide us and change us by rejecting the evil attached by satan so as to be perfect,

My great grandparents and dad were very fluent in speaking Spanish with correct grammar. The reason why the people of the Visayas region are speaking lots of Spanish words because it is the region where the Spanish colonizers first established their government specifically in Cebu. The first established modern road was also in Cebu and still exists today.

I've met a few castellano speakers in the philippines, but it's not pervasive like american spanish and most of the predominantly spaniard filipinos I know do not speak spanish...filipino on the other hand is filled with the adopted/altered (they use the B. word for it in the philippines) spanish... there are a lot of false cognates too...in my experience it has served to make speaking filipino exceptionally difficult because my brain keeps dropping (without the clutch you might say) into spanish (my second language) and when I try to speak filipino mostly spanish comes out...however, whenever I don't know a filipino word I can get lucky by just saying the spanish word with alterations like ll = ly, io = iyo, ch = ts, no = nyo, etc. But this method isn't as successful as it is in say speaking portuguese or italian...it really makes more sense to just speak english to filipinos, but then what fun is that?
And then of course filipino has a bunch of different number systems they use natively: telling time sounds like spanish but written differently, while they regularly use english (actually any time a topic gets complicated they break out the deep english) for large numbers and nonintegers...
but of course every generalization of the philippines is very regionally generalized because the philippines is a classic tribal nation, where simply traveling 15km is often enough to experience significant shifts is culture and dialect

This is the the only Church of each one of our spirit that we must listen to or eat and drink like how we eat, dress and sleep every day so that He can guide us and change us by rejecting the evil attached by satan so as to be perfect,
having attained eternal life that will enter the coming replacement of the New Heaven and New Earth. 💌

The discovery of the Philippines is significant to world navigation due to the fact that Spain can reach spice islands via west route due to treaty of Tordesillas. Next, the Manila Galleons from Manila to Acapulco gave Spanish empire the peak of world trade wherein products from China go to South America under New Spain (Mexico) then deliver back to Europe. In exchange, silver was traded as highly valuable item to China by that time. On the other hand, chinese porcelains, asian spices and silk were so valuable that they weigh more than gold and a symbol of nobility in Europe during that time.

NEVER!! It's already a relic of its colonial past, you'll just face the firestorm from hardline Nationalist educators, the youth today are more into Japanese anime you'll see them in some weekends during Cosplay and into Kpop, Spanish has no place in today's world as Asian culture spreads across the globe.

FYI , The Filipinos did NOT reject the Spanish Language. . The Spaniards simply did NOT want Filipinos to learn Spanish during the early years of colonization. But unlike the Spaniards, the Americans brought in a couple hundred of teachers(the Thomasites) to teach English in public schools .

@@user-mt9mx4nt3c In the video itself it is said that Spanish was the official language of the Philippines until 1973, that in the 19th century it was the common language throughout the country, and public education was in Spanish.

@@fmaximo1979AFAIK, Official documents like Land titles, birth/baptismal certificates, school diplomas, business documents, etc were in Spanish prior to the 20th century(19th century and earlier), however, Spanish was NOT spoken by the general public, they spoke in their local Language and elementary pupils were taught in the vernacular(local language). Many ordinary Filipinos did NOT even finish elementary. Most of those who received formal education were the elites(Ilustrados). In the 70's , Spanish language was no longer used in Official, public and business documents. Huwag kang basta magpapaniwala sa mga napapanood mong videos 😂

@@Troy25473 That doesn't explain it. The country's intellectual and economic elite could do it for that reason (and it still wouldn't explain why they would abandon Spanish), but not the people as a whole.
