Tanner is unhinged lmao. 2 years ago we were watching him build Subarus. Now we’re frame up restoring cars every few months. I know it’s a popular thing on TH-cam for people to do but it’s much cooler watching you do it. Typically the paint and other aspects of the car are done by shops or the channels employees. You’re restoring these things at such a professional level.
With pearl paints you want to paint as much as you can all at once, especially exterior panels. Spray preasure, booth preasure, temp, etc. Depending on the brand of paint and the base color/candy, small changes can make a big enough difference to see when its all dried
Tanner, you should rock the no hat look. Looks good on you bro not even kidding. Great work on this video, I used to work at a euro car restoration shop and I’m familiar with stripping down to bare metal, on 60 year old cars. That stuff is no joke!
Food for thought, next time welding out empty holes, grab some sticks of stick on cermics that stick on the bottom side allows you to weld the holes without making a mess. Also, possibly look into a small dustless blast company in your area if there is for the next car? Going to be a sweet build, keep up the hard work
None locally that could do an entire chassis, called around a couple times. Definitely will try the title trick! I was using some flat aluminum bar as backing 😅
Great work, keep it up! Just a suggestion...you may want to invest in a car rotisserie to make life easier for future projects that are going to this extent. All of the grinding, stripping, preping, painting etc. will be much easier.

They sell them at HFT, your compressor should be plenty to handle it, and you have a paint booth if you want to recycle and keep dust down. Might buy a second booth for blasting, but it would be a hell of a lot faster lol
I debated buying another booth for it, with the blowup booths I was a little concerned that the media might accidents blade though the material and ruin the booth 😅
I would recommend if you continue to do full chassis restorations to invest into a car rositairy they will make tasks like stripping and reapplying the undercoat much easier to do
The time lapse is pretty satisfying when there's a visible change happening, like when big chunks of the undercoat become bare metal. It's not quite as interesting when it's just everybody moving around and you don't see much progress. Might I suggest another song to add to the rotation? _91nova - What Color Is The Sky? I'm pretty sure it's royalty free, heard it in other videos in the past. Great for b-roll and time lapse. Home - Resonance is another great one people use often.
Next time consider using the rotisserie and have someone wet sand/soda blast the whole thing. There might be someone with a mobile set up in your area. Also a pressure washer with a sandblasting kit works too.
