Wow you've really stepped up your game man! The rx7 and this 2.5rs have been great builds to watch. It's also been motivating for me as I coincidentally started my own gm6 project at around the same time as you. Nearly done with mine now but your vids have been keeping me motivated the whole way through. Can't wait to see it all finished up! btw I am actually an artist myself and do a ton of painting. I highly recommend getting into it! You don't have to give up on cars but it's a great hobby to have! There are many parallels between art projects and building cars but they do both always come down to that last tedious 10%!!! Have a good day g, thanks for documenting your hard work!
On my Sti swapped gc I am using a complete 04 Sti drivetrain with sti knuckles, Sti Ebrake parts and Sti Ebrake cables. All bolted right up and works as it should.
@@Dragon151415 I promise you man it’s not as bad as it seems. Get one of your friends, preferably one that is a good teacher and send it! Hell. I’d be willing to help you out once you get it no problemo. Love teaching manual to people!
Taking good care of my future car. Many thinks. Definitely want to see the follow up to this one to better understand the battery wiring. Did it a million years ago and thinking about doing it again to the bug eye.
Another thing to remember when getting coilovers is that if you have a wagon the rear ones are taller. So if you get sedan rears they will be shorter and have less of a spring rating than wagon will. Another thing, if you do a Forester STI same applies there, you'll have saggy butt if you swap STi rear subframe in and don't change strut body.
Its definitely a lot of work, but at the end. You will be driving this 22b clone thinking, its a old ass car thats brand smakin new lol. You've got some or the cleanest cars my dude! @Smeedia
That Otofix is pretty dope, I wouldn't mind one. One friend of mine has this bluetooth dongle that works via app, but you have to pay a fee for each manufacturer or something, he didn't describe it to me in detail. Another friend who is a mechanic has this crazy like $5000 scan tool tablet thing, I'd assume it's Snap On since that's what most of his stuff is. I think this thing fits in well like right in the middle of those two.
@@Smeedia You should see the rest of his toolbox... I dunno how he does it, running up a tab like he's got. But yeah his scan tool is fucking nuts, professional grade shit.
You should run the GD top hat with them swapped left to right. It turns them so that when you add camber you add caster which is very beneficial in a gc8
Why not power the fuel pumps off of 2 of the HCOs on the R3? Gets rid of the need to have the relays for the pumps and allows for easy fuel pump staging using the PDM functionality of the R3.
Little dorky but I can't wait to see what you do with the pinion flange on the r180. I have a similar issue as well when it comes to my current build (06 fxt / jdm forester 6 speed and rear diff). Jdm vs usdm subtle differences in pinion flange sizes.
The cable is probably correct. You need to install it completely and the slack pulled out. The spring on the brake end will be slightly compressed. You don't have the cable pulled tight forward. I should not be able to see the cable where it comes out of the back plate at 16:57.
Tanner. For 1, i remember seeing a transmission jack at some poitn so why are you man handling the diff. 2, like you said ,TE's or over played, same with Rega's and DR9's. I say some OG bronze CE28s are in store for this bad boy.
A car like that deserves some bronze TE37 on it.
No work d9r’s !!!!
No regamasters
TEs are so over playedddddd
NT03RR
OG Bronze CE28
I love seeing the progress on your builds. Makes me want to undertake such a massive restoration on my IS300.
Do ittt! Super clean Is300s are just 🤌🤌

4:50 proper torque spec is 3 ugga duggas until gutentite
That’s how all torque is measured now 😂
Thid is what i strive my 2000 2.5 RS to be like. This has to be the most gone through gc on youtube.
Pieces to the puzzle are coming together!!
Piece by piece the puzzle becomes more complete 🤌
The cleanest gc8 on you tube there ever was .....an ever will👊 its the build of builds 💪
Enjoying the subie content, always entertaining cant wait to see it finished.
A lot of body stuff should be swinging in next week. It’ll be nice to see this thing almost all one color 🥳
Massive progress man it’s looking so good I finally got to drive my subie again today and it felt so good can’t wait till this build is done
Eyyyyy always a good feeling getting them back out 🥳
Coming along nicely. Can't wait to see the finish car.
I just wanna get to the fun stuff like the wide body and turbo out. 😅 but all in due time 💪
Love these updates! You are a genius. No way I could ever do something like this. Props.
There is most definitely some trial and error on this 😅 but you totally could do it!
I just rebuilt the front suspension of my dads 04 Tacoma with moog. Gotta love it.
The Moog stuff is quality 3rd party at a fraction of the price. Can’t go wrong with it 🔥
On my Sti swapped gc I am using a complete 04 Sti drivetrain with sti knuckles, Sti Ebrake parts and Sti Ebrake cables. All bolted right up and works as it should.
I’ll order the second cable and get em hooked up to the ebrake. Hopefully that should pull out any excess slack that I’m seeing 😅
Cant wait to see the widebody when it shows up! You inspire me to build my cars like this but money doesn't allow it yet. XD
Just got an update on it and it’s sitting in customs right now 😅
That Smeedia logo battery holder is really sick!
Right?! meme killed it with that thing 🔥
Wheels - You NEED some speedlines. Gotta have that WRC flavor or possibly an Enkei WRC style or something from Prodrive.
Always loving the subi content like always, cant wait for this monster to be done
This one I’m super stoaked to get driving here soon. Missed having a properly set up STI in my life 🔥
@Smeedia but,got my dealership looking for me for a sti,17-21 and if they can't find me one by the end of the year,I'll get one myself
@@Dragon151415look for a 19-21 if you want a Va 👀
@@Smeedia so say im not entirely comfortable driving stick, would i be better of getting a gd/gr wrx and learning off of that or sticking with auto?

Stoking the algorithm with this epic comment 🎉
Nice work Tanner she’s looking great
Thank you 🎉 getting past all time consuming stuff now 😅
Keep it up Tanner this my favorite build yet by far
Thanks Chase! Super hyped on how the 22B thing is coming out 🥳
Like everything you do looking awesome 👌 appreciate the patience and preservation you have !
Taking good care of my future car. Many thinks. Definitely want to see the follow up to this one to better understand the battery wiring. Did it a million years ago and thinking about doing it again to the bug eye.
If your looking to free up some space it’s definitely a worth while mod to do 💪
These videos are awesome. Hopefully someday my 05LGT can get this kind of lovin!

Dude, you are doing an amazing job, I love the content and thanks for sharing. Rock on! Epic!
Appreciate it Seth! Ecstatic with how it’s coming out 🎉
I appreciate your videos man, always gives me helpful tips and ideas for my personal subie! Your an inspiration!
Glad that I can share 🥳 with this thing just wanna get to the fun stuff 😂

Congrats on the business ramping up.
Thanks Andrew! Definitely keeping me busy 😅
Hell yes, brother. Hell yes.
(edit: Congrats on 150k!)
Thank you! 🥳🥳🥳
Ive got this exact D1 Lite. Go with the 600$ version. You will have full access to unsupported features.
THERE ARE MORE FEATURES?! Good to know 😅
Yo what’s up tanner keep it up I love this 22b build
Thanks my mans! Bolt by bolt this thing going back together 💪
Bam.... were back with this project
Will be a couple days until we jump back on it with the FD going on the dyno this Friday. But yesssssir 💪
Woooohoooo baby content!!!

Aww yeah progress!!!
Yesssssssir 🥳
Wheel option that admittedly doesn't seem like your style but would look sick: OZ Racing Superturismo Evoluzione
Just looked them up and those actually look like they’d fit the car very well 🥵
You should run the GD top hat with them swapped left to right. It turns them so that when you add camber you add caster which is very beneficial in a gc8
Thanks buddy

For my swap I used GC parking brake cables and it fit perfectly, STi ones were too long.
The GC cables fit with the Brembos?! Everything I read said they wouldn’t 😤
It's not an STi, its not a 2.5rs, its not a 22b, its better! It's the TannerMobile!!
The zoom zoom 🏎️
autel has some really nice to have features for programming and diagnostics, id love to get one but I cant really justify it yet

Using the x4 relays for fan 1, fan 2, ignition and injectors. I can still run them staged. Each fuel pump will be controlled by separate DPOs
I ordered cr57’s white and there back ordered till march 2025
Until March?! 🧐 I’d cancel that and find something else 😅

Goes to the Dyno Friday so tomorrow is Dyno prep day 🥳
OZ racing superturismo would be nice as well
Those would actually look really good on here 🥵
