My hamsters are so cheeky! When I put like for example (like you said in the video) When I put peanut butter on a chew toy. even if i get it in there. They will not chew! they will just lick!! They beat the system >_

This video could not have come at a more perfect time, I recently got a new hamster and he just would not chew his wood!
My hamster Cornelius was not chewing on his chews so I tried putting them in his seed mix like you said a BAM now he chews on them ! Thank you for all your hamster tips!

Your videos are so helpful! My hamster wouldn’t chew on anything but his cage bars. I just put him in a bin cage today and I gave him a walnut and he loves it!

My hamster wasn't interested in any of his chews, even after buying different textures and storing them in his seed mix.
But this tiny robo is now very invested in his training as a gator killer.
He's over there right now, trying to take the tip off the tail despite being two weeks in.
Sure the toothbrush version is smaller and cheaper, but it wouldn't have been as cute.

I bought that one dog chew and my hamsters ate that for 2 days 😂🤣 and from then I am using walnuts and homemade chews, like you made from toilet paper roll. And also I give them some hamster chew, that's like little carrot chew that actually made for our little friends🐹

I thought I was out going to have a bit of a hard time when PB didn’t work on his current chews.
Putting them in his seed mix worked!! I put one in, it took him 5 minutes and he stole it into his hide😂

Hello Victoria, I’m a big fan of your Chanel, and I was scrolling through videos of how to get your hamster to chew and I clicked on yours. The flour and water one really worked. I put some of Leo’s (my hamster’s) seed mix onto a toilet paper tube, and on of his wood chews, and it was when I walked by his cage and saw him chewing. Thanks!
those chews in the intro are so great for hamsters! I think they were originally for dogs, but they are amazing! totally recommend

Friends!! Ecotrition cheese chews! It's one of the only chews any of my small animals have ever used!!! Sometimes they are as low as $0.98 on Amazon. I wait for the sale and then buy it in bulk. Also Kaytee apple sticks my mice and hamsters appreciated. Hope this helps!

My hamster refuses to try and open walnuts, but if I drill a hole or crack it, he goes bonkers. I think if he smells it, it gets him more exited.

You are amazing, Victoria, seriously! You have answers to everything haha! When I first bought my hamster a month ago, the pet store lady told me hamsters needed to chew on calcium stones so I bought him one. The first week, he would chew it every night, but after that, he seemed to lose all interest in it. And now I find out he doesn't even need calcium, oh gosh! I'm going to the pet store tomorrow to see if I can find other chews. I'll keep the calcium one and try to give it to him again in a few weeks. Thank you so much for your videos, they're great!

:D I gave my hamster a chopstick from Asia Wok AND IT WORKED! no peanut butter no food from the place just a chopstick that has been in the car over night.
I would just be careful of woods not specially made for hamsters since they can sometimes splinter
My hamsters chew toy had few wholes in them so i put a big nut in them so when my hamster chew he will get nut🤣🤧❤

Very cutie syrian hamsters you had in there I adopted mine today from petsmart... She was free some customer got her for a kid Kid open box guess what happend next she got loose in a car she was stuck between it they returned her back because they didn't know what to do with her I know kid didn't mean to hurt hamster possibly he or she want to looked at her or touched her...Parents should know better to watched their kid doing....When I heard her story I end up up bring her home Petsmart employees was happy for her They had her for 1 month to heal her injury first then she was put for adoption for 2 weeks she told other customers who looking for hamsters getting it nobody wanted her for some reason... Free hamsters put for adoptions that don't mean there is something wrong with pet I wish they know about that... They don't know her ages well.... I'm guessing she's possibly 7 months 14 days old her color is long haired Umbros golden syrian hamster She's shy but not biter they told me she's will take while to warm up to me I named her Lola She's tried to settle on her new home right now...

The other day my cat crept into my sisters room and took our hamster out of is cage [he is a robo dwarf hamster] we thought he died then the next day my cat was staring underneath the stove and I looked under the stove and he was there it took us a while to get him out but we finally did we are so happy he is still alive

he has a good cage for his size I cant get a better one, it would be the same thing, I also did not say the full story so you do not now everything that happened I just did a quick summary, my house also is not that big so all of my pets are on the same floor, theres not much I can do there

I haven't had a hamster in many years but man do I wish videos like this existed back then. It didn't matter what kind of chew toy I gave them, they always preferred the metal bars of the cage itself (another reason to get an aquarium instead). Not only is that bad for them, it makes sleeping in the same room as your hamster downright impossible.
Excellent tips - walnuts and wooden blocks are now on my shopping list today - anything for my hammies!

My chinese dwarf (Atticus) isn't into any of the wood chews, but he went straight for a Whimsey dog treat! I'll have to try some of these tricks for the other wood chews, he's such a picky boy. >_< Thank you for putting these videos out, everyone is commenting on what a good mom I am when I feel like I'm just following the basics.
