I love free roaming my hamsters. I always recommend having a spare wheel, it's amazing how they will jump on and off that thing, even when they have the freedom to go do something else. I also love it when they think you are a big mountain to be conquered, it is just too cute and funny.

These videos are so helpful. Actually seeing Bumble out in free roam mode, I am noticing her behaviors are similar to my own Syrian. Hamsters are hard to read, unlike more common pets and so I find these videos to be an essential resource to providing quality care for my very tiny friend. Thank you, as always! 💕

Perfect timing on this video.i just had my hamster Amber out,free roaming around and she just loves it.she actually made friends with my rabbit.i have a room for her filled up with her toys and stuff.uh oh,she wants out again.i use a fence to keep her from going in places like my furnace room but she has so much fun.shes a character.🐹😁♥️🐾

I just bought my very first hamster. I let him roam around a room that was safe with no openings, nothing he can climb, etc. I step out of the room for like 3 min to grab something but I closed the door and put a towel under so he can't go under. When I come back, he's gone. I look for him for nearly 45 min and then I hear claws getting stuck on fabric. Lo and behold, there he was half way up my curtain drapes (like 5 ft up the curtain) . Never in a million years would I have thought that hamsters can climb that. I'm so glad I was able to safely get him down. Since then, I've really made sure to read how to safely let him loose around the house

When I first got my hamster I read a book to her, just wanted her to get used to me being around her and hearing my voice.
My hamster loves free roaming on the floor with me. She always crawls all over me when I take her out.❤🐭🐹

2:16 I saw some other people use these storage grid things before, so I wanted to use them but I couldn't find them in my country. So I made something like that myself. I'm gonna write how I made them in case someone else needs it.
1. I used some thick wire to form square shape.
2. I cut the corners of a large square ziplock bag, just large enough to pull zipties through.
3. I put the wire inside the bag, sealed the open side with a bag sealer and cut the ziplock part.
4. Then I sealed the bag around the wire so it wouldn't move around.
Edit: Oh and pay attention to where the wire meets when making a square, that part shouldn't be at a corner. The wire ends get sharp and they might hurt your hamster's paws, or the zipties might went through if there is an opening. It's best to fuse the wire if you know how to solder, but it's not that necessary.
Pretty straightforward, they look just like those storage grids in the video. I don't think you can use them to store anything lol, but as a divider they get the job done and they are super convenient.

I free roam my hamster at night and generally leave her outside even as I sleep at night till about 2 pm. Of course I make sure that all her stuff is accessible to her. Thanks Victoria for all the tips!

When I first got my hamster, she escaped her cage and got under the floor boards. She was under there for 1 week, we thought we had lost her, but we set up a food trap and it worked! We got her back but the adventures she has been on😂👍

mine isnt either and hes really shy so maybe not itll probably freak em outbut if your hamster is not as shy as mine maybe
I wouldn't recommend it because if your hamster does get into something, then you need to be able to intervene and that's harder to do when they aren't tame. Just wait until they're comfortable around your hands and then it's probably safe :)
I probably wouldn't suggest it exactly incase your hamster does end up going somewhere they're not supposed to.
if you're gonna do that, you gotta be 100% sure that it cant go somewhere it's not supposed to :)
I put my un-tamed hamster in a fully enclosed play pen under constant supervision. Nowhere dangerous to go. So probably not free roaming, but a play pen can be ok

That would be correct. For a robo I probably would suggest a large playpen unless you have a 100% safe hamster room and are able to catch them to put them back in the cage.
I would love to free roam but I have carpet flooring it has a fluffy texture, which could get stuck on my hamsters toes :(. I might be moving to a new home and if my new room as a wood floor I’ll try out some free roaming.
Have you thought of laying down a big blanket or something similar if you are worried about the carpet?
Most hamster's can walk on quite a few textures without issues!

Thank you for making this tutorial video I recently got a Robo Hamster and named him potato and he’s really finicky and likes to roam around. He loves being able to run around his room.
The first time I let her free roam she loved it. I never knew how fast she was until then. Hope to do it more in the future.

Hi, I'm back! I don't have any thing to protect my hamster from roaming too far, what do I do?
He's in a desperate need of free time because his cage is too small.
I have a children's plastic wading pool as a hamster playroom.
Clean it thoroughly,add some toys, and let them enjoy it.
Of course you have to watch them the whole time.
If your hamster is that desperate i would recommend upgrading your habitat. Bin cages are awesome as they are very budget friendly and very easy to personalize.
You can do it in your bathtub
what about reacting to hamster cages and also i finally got my new hamster his name is carlos and he's always on his wheel. when i come into my room i see him out of his wheel then run back when im there. he barely goes out of his wheel when im around only when i leave the room. im working on taming rn so maybe itll go away but does anyone have tips.
Tips on taming umm hand feed them let them run on hand to hand get some of ur scent in there

My hammy is dying. I don't know what to do. She is only 6 months old. She won't drink or eat she is just lying and that's it. I took her to the vet yesterday and they put medicine in her. She was such a good hammy. I will love her forever.
