Can you re-review this for the English version?? One thing that becomes way more apparent is how complex the vocal melody is. I mean holy crap, I've actually learned how to sing it for the most part finally, it's absolutely chaotic and all over and beautiful with how it pauses in all of these places and with how fast it is... and I still cannot completely hit every note distinctly in some of those more chaotic ups and downs. 8:31 in particular IS-- THE MOST tricky snippet of melody that I have ever tried to sing. I don't know how to explain it, but the pattern the notes play in these steps down defy every expectation that one normally has when predicting and following patterns of melodies as a singer. After going over it, over and over again... my brain is still wanting to trip up at that part there, it's like I'm having to retrain my expectation for that specific part. It's incredible, such a great and fun composition. I haven't had this much fun singing a song in a long time, and it makes a fantastic warmup song.
@@jalcome4201bright, cheerful, joyful; they're pretty much the same aren't they? Tho I do agree that "bright" could be misunderstood, considering it has more than one meaning
Something i noticed with another comment out there: the song starts rather calm at 104 bpm. It only becomes upbeat at the first chorus, when the tempo doubles to 208. This is intentional. It coincides with the lyrics describing Frieren's realization that her time understanding is very different. After that, the next verse doesn't come back to 104, it stays at 208. Her time understanding has been altered ever since.
I'm Japanese. Some people will feel that the ending fits the anime better. However, upbeat tunes are often used as opening songs for anime, aimed at the masses. I feel that YOASOBI is doing well in that situation.
Not gonna lie, I do somewhat feel the same. Milet did such an incredible job setting up a certain tone that fit the series so well, but I also love Yoasobi's chosen tone, It's like I'm walking on a journey, a parade, and a tale being told. And don't get me started with the instrumentals and choir, even though I'm quite familiar of the chord progression Yoasobi often likes to use, they all somehow sound unique. I'm really enjoying it a lot! I've listen to it on loop XDD it's such a fun song just like the Hero Party's journey.
the upbeat song telling the tale of the Hero fits Frieren pretty well honestly. it keeps Himmel as a main part of the show even after his death as he should be. And honestly if both it and the ending were more slower it would make Frieren feel too much like a sad story.
Yuusha is probably my favourite song from YOASOBI. I was absolutely blown away when I heard it for the first time, more than any other of their songs! I'm not an expert, nor do I know anything about music theory, but listening to music is just such a big passion for me. If I can listen to music, I will be doing so. I have lived like that for about 1-2 years now, and I could not be happier. Thus having a song blow me away like Yuusha did is such an amazing feeling! Anyway, very nice video! I love watching professionals explain what's happening and get excited about it, and it just makes me so happy!
As if the song isn't good enough yet, the bass at the last part literally knock me the fuck up man, i absolutely love this song, i can see why some people might like the ending more, but to me, this is the perfect opening
People say that yuusha misses the point of frieren I counter that by saying that THEY are missing the point of yuusha Just like how idol was about a character that disappears after one episode, yuusha essentially does the same thing Yuusha is about frieren's relationship with himmel, and how frieren felt when she lost him Its a relatively upbeat song but i hear the chorus and it just paints a picture of desperation. It feels like your running towards something that you can never reach, trying to grasp on to something that you cant touch. That, to me, is what this song is about, and its mother effing brilliant
Same, I hear a lot of desperation in Yuusha, even though it's upbeat. Idk why people are saying it's too happy? I have yet to read Frieren but this doesn't give a happy feeling at all lol
I think it's because the song focus strongly on Frieren's relationship with Himmel and not so much with her 'current' party. The dissonance with Frieren is- due to her near immortality, she is never 'in hurry' and doesn't seem all that determined to reach her goal (himmel in Ende) What about her current companions? There's no mention of them whatsoever in the lyrics. Then again- there's the title of this series- it's about 'grief' and 'accepting transience of life' so it's the right call to focus on Frieren's feelings for Himmel. He is the past Frieren would always grieve for.
Especially since we're gonna see throughout the show , Frieren always looked back on her journey with a smile. That's her motivation for retracing her journey. She's not wallowing in grief or regret, she's cherishing their adventures together
I really don't get why if a setting feels sad the EN side wants to make it sound like billie elish levels of sad. Yuusha as a song shows obvious feelings of missing someone but still moving forward even if they're long gone. It's still sad for what the character is going through and slowly realizing they miss their friends and making sure they remember to do what they forgot to when everyone was still there
I'm super glad to see someone sharing the same opinion. It's not to say that YOASOBI choruses are bad, but they really pale in comparison to the amazing first couple verses and overall build-up to their choruses. My favorite parts of Idol were actually the first few verses.
it's because every single YOASOBI song has the same three choruses lmao. Ayase is innovating with the production and arrangement of everything BUT the chord progression of the choruses. The chorus of this song in particular is extremely disappointing cus everything else was so damn good.
The choir here sounds really epic, and when listening it while watching that specific part in the opening, I couldn't help but respect how brilliant it was delivered. The glorious yet vanishing past and the unexperienced yet promising future, united by the struggling but boundless present.

Really loved how "Yuusha" was analyzed here... but as for any Yoasobi song, I've developed something of an adage: "Listen to the two, then prepare to listen and freak out to the six." Ikura clearly shouts from the rooftops, and Ayase carpet-bombs with all the different musical elements. When performing live though... a certain pack of six becomes a wholly different animal, with Yoasobi signed in blood (and magical music).

Sheeeesh, he is a BEAST. You mentioned the Samba-esque groove and that's one of the first things I picked up on this song. Found out, Tatsuya is obsessed with latin beats. Thanks for your analysis. I havent seen the anime but readed the manga long a go. My first impression is the opening is too hopefull / happy in the melody then the impression that I have got of the story. You reacted to 2 of his songs before, but this one is my favorite! PS: I literally just discovered your channel 2 hours ago and i watched most of your beatbox reaction videos and i saved a few other videos to my watchlater playlist 😂
the anime reminds me of that one manga that it has 4 party member to kill the demon god , they did kill the demon god but 3 of them died but the magician survived, so he uses his magic to control the bodies of his dead comrades to return them to their family
If you havent already, i would love to see you reacting to "Raphael's Final Act" and "Twisted Force". I think they are contender for greatest song of the score.
Im not a patron so I don’t know if you will see this request, but I have been watching your videos recently and saw Black Memory from one of my favorite groups. I was wondering if you could react to Manner Mode from their Fixion album. There’s a handful of good songs in that album.
Nah both do. The show isn't some sad melancholic tear-jerker. It's a mix, it hits the feels in both sad and happy sides. This song perfectly encapsulates the happy part of the show and the lyrics are also greatly written. Both songs are perfectly fitted.
Be sure to check out the ending theme as well “Anytime Anywhere” by milet. Honestly I prefer it to the OP because it fits the series so well! It’s got a more somber but still grand sound to it. (I still like this song too ofc just not a personal fav)
the first time i heard this song i dont like it at all, since i follow the manga before the anime was announce. The song theme throw me off, but the more i listen to it more and more while at work and read the english translate lyrics, i start to like it
The anime lineup for the next few days is crazy (after this video at least): Frieren (of course), Shield Hero S3, Ancient Magus Bride S2P2, Goblin Slayer S2, man

Most of the places & names used in this series are german. 'Frieren' it's the main character here, her personality kinda cold so i guess it's on point.
@@laststand84or its the fact that time passed slowly for her like time is ‘freezing’
Amarte de Yoasobi y su música ❤
Yoasobi is a great newcomer
Thanks for the reaction they are awesome please react to more Eve🎉
Please react to YOASOBI if I could draw life, it’s one of their best songs and it’s absolutely amazing!
Stops and rewinds. Yes, we deal with it ❤
I wish you will react it ED too
Yoasobi already uploaded the English version 2 months ago, you should check it out
You should SO do the second intro! The first one is a total banger. The second one is like a painting without a canvas, it's a beautiful song and I need your reaction to it, Tony!
I was having trouble deciding what to watch so I just, uh, acquired some Anime based on what was popular and the name alone, and this was one of 'em. Right way I thought the theme song was pretty good then saw it was by Yoasobi in the credits and I'm like, 'oh'.
Please react to the second opening, it's definitely my favorite of the two.
"It's not combat heavy"
Me watching episode 9:
Lol yea things changed 👀😅
Hey! Brand new subscriber here from the beatbox community and already watched a multiple of your videos!
I want to request that you react to a beatbox music video "moments i had" by Den.
Name??
@@laurarivadeneira2597 yuusha goikkou no kaerimichi
May I have the name of this manga too, I feel like I have heard this story before
Name????
oof, every time I see that ring of Frieren's I feel so much!
i just discovered this anime today and was gonna tell you to react to this cause i knew you would like it LMAO. little late to the party.
If you havent already, i would love to see you reacting to "Raphael's Final Act" and "Twisted Force". I think they are contender for greatest song of the score.
yo i really suggest more of yoasobis work. i feel like you would appreciateミスター , biri-biri, or ラブレター .

独特なバックで流れる音はナウシカ(ジブリ、宮崎駿)で聞いた事ありませんか?
Woah not a big fan of yoasobi but I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would
It reflects the story from freien POV
Im not a patron so I don’t know if you will see this request, but I have been watching your videos recently and saw Black Memory from one of my favorite groups. I was wondering if you could react to Manner Mode from their Fixion album. There’s a handful of good songs in that album.
If your liking YOASOBI, I recommend going back and listening to Monster by YOASOBI.
I love the ED way more than the OP. The ED perfectly captures the vibe of the show.
Nah both do. The show isn't some sad melancholic tear-jerker. It's a mix, it hits the feels in both sad and happy sides. This song perfectly encapsulates the happy part of the show and the lyrics are also greatly written. Both songs are perfectly fitted.

Please Listen Sunny by Yorushika Frieren's 2nd Opening
Can you react Ado - Show?,the vocal and instrument so insane
It's like a Japanese samba.
This song getting unnecessary hate just because YOASOBI is famous 😢.
Jjk op 1 full and op 4 full reaction asap please please
Hope you check the ED from milet.
Definitely will
Love your Videos :)
Could you take a look at the first opening of 86 (Eighty-Six)?
Be sure to check out the ending theme as well “Anytime Anywhere” by milet. Honestly I prefer it to the OP because it fits the series so well! It’s got a more somber but still grand sound to it. (I still like this song too ofc just not a personal fav)
nice
the first time i heard this song i dont like it at all, since i follow the manga before the anime was announce. The song theme throw me off, but the more i listen to it more and more while at work and read the english translate lyrics, i start to like it
Are u gonna react to jjk op4?
Yes that is coming this month
You should also do a video on former time trio ýou will like it
Amazing Reaction !! Hope you will react to the opening of Shangri-la frontier, it's another anime of this season
Anyone else surprised that Zom 100 hasn’t been covered
The OP for Zom 100 is certainly a fun listen.
The anime lineup for the next few days is crazy (after this video at least): Frieren (of course), Shield Hero S3, Ancient Magus Bride S2P2, Goblin Slayer S2, man
Give “Show” by Ado a listen you’ll defo enjoy it
can you react to the opening of 4 jujutsu kaisen?, that opening is a banger broo🔥🔥🔥
Definitely coming this month
Have you seen the lyrics for this?
damn, the song is definitely good, but I like 2 oppening Frieren many times more
