Could be that I'm just a classical music fan, but I love Animenz's endings to his arrangements. They're often deviant to the original song, arranged in a manner closer to classical music with incessant "fake" endings and drawn out chords, and sound so grand. I love it. What a great end to 2024
I am also a classical music lover, and classical contemporary music as a whole has a huge debt to film's OST composers is general, and anime's OST composers in particular. And Animenz always elevate the source's music to new heights. Happy New Year to all, btw.

Holy shit. This whole medley flowed like water. I will say that this medley seems to be quite different from all your others in that the tonality isn't as distinct between the different sections (besides the waltz ofc). Haven't watched the show, so I wonder if that's simply a result of Evan's pieces being similar, or if it was intentional from you to emphasize a more unified magical journey, a wholesome magical tale if you will. I would assume the latter, with the emphasis you placed on the melody and using flowing, tonic arpeggios to paint a magical picture. Then again, I'm using your previous medleys as a reference point, so the differences could simply be due to your evolution as an arranger and musician since! Frieren the Slayer was genuinely amazing, loved that Tremolo section from 8:40 onwards. Also that call and response part from 9:00 gave me big Genshin Impact boss theme vibes, and I've never even played the game HAHAHAHA. Haven't watched this show but enjoyed the unexpected chord progressions from Evan. Also does anyone know the actual technique name for when Animenz played two clear melodies with the same hand at the same time? Similar to the first verse in Animenz Unravel and Pianeet Akiba Pop the Future? I'm assuming it's just polyphony or three-hand but thought it might have another name. ALSO the technique at 9:20, is it just called a Chromatic Chord or something? Only other piece I've seen it in is during the interlude in Liszt's Mazeppa. Thanks for keeping Anipiano alive after all these years. You're a good father of it❤

Listening to Animenz's Frieren with some spiced wine. This past year flashes before my eyes scene by scene. It has been a year filled with significant events: the passing of my grandmother, supporting a dear friend through the tough times of his mother’s illness, and leaving a 12-year career to pursue a new path in psychotherapy/psychoanalysis, to name a few. It wasn’t an easy year, however many important people stood by my side, and I stood by theirs, and Animenz's music has been a constant companion throughout. Looking back, every part of the journey feels fulfilling and meaningful, similar as it's difficult to pick up a favorite part from the medley. Looking forward to next year, with Animenz’s music as the BGM, to step onto a new adventure! 🎶✨

It wouldn't be Animenz if he didn't return with a bang with a multi song medley 🎉 These moments really stood our for me: 1:33 - the subtle modulations add nice color and a smooth transition from the intro section into the next 6:36 - the way the countermelody dances in betwen the other lines adds a bright vibrancy to the waltz 8:40 - the climax of this medley resonates through the intense pulsating alternating RH/LH chords. extremely powerful moment. Welcome back Animenz! What a ride that was and it is one of those times again where I’m truly awed at the musical expression in your playing and arrangement. On the topic of Frieren, I initially thought it was very good, but as I gave myself time to think about it more, it became something special. It’s a show about the journey - and the more I thought about it, the more I felt a connection to it. I absolutely love your decision to make an arrangement of the OST and not the OP/ED. I love the OP/EDs - especially Anytime Anywhere - but I don’t think it does the show justice or fits the idea of the show. This show is about the *journey* as a whole. This arrangement of the OST tells a story, and does the show justice. THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING EVOLUTION OF MAGIC AT 2:25!!! I absolutely love the track, but always found it short...and then finally transitioning into Zoltraak to extend wasn't something I knew I needed... but my goodness, I love this Zoltraak medley! I was initially disappointed when the soundtrack released and there wasn't a "feature length" version of the song, but now I always have this version to resort to. It's one of my favorite songs alongside "The Magic Within" and "New and Dangerous Magic".
It's so nice seeing many people supporting Animenz after that much time! In fact number of comments already exceeded many previous videos which had 1M+ views (and there are a bit less than 100k here as am I writing). Wow. This totally exceeded my expectations! To me, this is one of your best works. I can totally feel the "time-shifts" and the "story-telling" feeling that you are trying to convey through your medley. Evan Call is truly a genius, and the rich harmonies of the soundtracks he composed only complements this medley. Whenever I am listening to the soundtracks, I often think to myself: "If I ever were to arrange them on the piano, how do I manage to capture the texture, atmosphere, and the different voices of the instruments, while not making it super hard to play on the piano?" And most of the time, I failed to do that 😅. But you always come up with the perfect arranging techniques to encapsulate all the elements of the original song, while making it sound natural on the piano (almost as if the pieces were composed for the piano instead of an entire orchestra). I just want to thank you for all your hard work over the years. This medley is making me feel like we've reached the end of a chapter and the start of a new one. closest thing that I can think of is the three-hand technique (the impression of piano being played with three hands by a solo pianist)
also at 9:21, the melody is moving up one semitone at a time and is considered chromatic

You really capture the essence of every single cover you do, and over the years I feel that you've become such a master at capturing the emotions of the more emotional, slower moments.
