It’s lovely that you haven’t forgotten Alfred. So many children...and adults anticipation of waiting each morning to read and see Rupert. These talented people shouldn’t be forgotten, so thank you for taking me to see his resting place. 👍

Rupert Bear was a major part of my childhood. I loved my Grandmother reading the annuals to me when I was very young and then I was able to read them myself and to my younger sister. I then read them to my children and to my grandchildren ! They are timeless. When I was young I found some of the annual illustrations a bit scary and mysterious. Thanks for his life story Paul , very respectfully done as always RIP Alfred Bestall 🙏

I can remember an animated version of Rupert the Bear on tv in the 70s. Sounds like Alfred Bestall had a varied and fulfilling life. A bit of trivia: Paul McCartney's a big Rupert the Bear fan.

Another great presentation Paul - thank you. Like a lot of people here Rupert Bear was a large part of my childhood too. My parents always gave me the annual as a Christmas present. One year they just couldn't get one until they had the family searching in the areas where they lived. It's not often that we take note of the illustrators (with the exception of a notable few like Beatrix Potter and E H Shepard) so well done mate!!

Hello Paul. 👋 Thank you for another interesting video 📹 When I was a child, in the early 1970s, there was as an animated TV series of Rupert Bear. I can still hear the signature tune to this day... Even though I am a 50 something adult, I enjoy reading “Fred Bassett” cartoon strip in the Daily Mail newspaper 📰 Perhaps you could find the grave of the creator of “Fred Bassett” ALEX GRAHAM. 🐶
