Soon technology will enhance even the animation as it will give many points of reference to a face over time with the availability of multiple photos and angles of a single individual. If technology is able to scan multiple points on a wall in what appears to be a dark tunnel or hole, a face giving data points of light or shadow/ right down to the texture of a surface isn't difficult at all.

Olive Ann Oatman and Mary Snowden would still be stunners in this day an age! Marys got a captivating, haunting beauty! She probably stopped everyone in their tracks! She looks like she’s got a lot to tell with her deep, intense, fixed expression.

    • @garypautard1069

I did some research on Mary. Sadly she was a baddie, she was a cutthroat and with her husbands kin waylaid and robbed and ambushed lonely travellers. Whilst in prison her new husband divorced her and he was a criminal himself. Mary was a victim of the times. The clothes she are seen in may seem odd but were a symbol of the 5 civilised tribes created by the government .

I feel like it's actually important to see some of these in color, to remove the "antiquation" and see the subjects as the photographer say them, they way they actuality existed in the world. It's as if we sometimes think the past was in Black and white (grayscale) which it certainly, obviously wasn't.

@@thesweetestteas.4534 Don't think she murdered anyone. She was charged with "assault to kill", which is just saying she had intended to kill them but she didn't. There was a thought that it was never published in the paper, perhaps because the victim was "colored". Her maiden name was something different. She was married when she was arrested. But while she was serving time, her husband married 2 other people. She got remarried when she got out, she became Mary Brice. I found a newspaper clipping about an incident, a guy named Bub Williams shot at her 5 times in a drunken jealous state. Apparently was her side lover and he was jealous perhaps about her being married. One of the bullets hit her in the thigh and it was said the wound was severe. But they didn't say if she died. Instead someone found that her husband was listed a few years later as a widower, so it's assumed she died from it.

Oatman's story is incorrect. In fact, she did not wish to "rescued", but was quite satisfied with her life. She did not want to remove, or cover over the tattoos, as they were a reminder of the people she'd lived with. The tattoos were part of their culture, and she shared that.
The town of Oatman lies on the famous Route 66 and is a regular attraction. Burros wander freely in the street, and it's part of the Oatman "lore".
