@@Beachgirl1 that is AWESOME. Was this just to film the song; i.e. mimed/played to a crowd, for a television clip? As in, say if they were on tour, Seattle could play the clip ahead of the concert (before video channels like Much Music or MTV?)

It's so heartwarming that Bklyn and other people love Frida so much. I know that when I was a little girl, and ABBA were becoming famous, media and sometimes people around me would talk badly of her. I have a vague memory of feeling bad for her, so it's just so great to see that she gets so much love and attention these days. ❤
@@Ms.E123 Do you remember why they spoke badly about her? It's the one thing (well one of the things) that makes me NOT proud of being Norwegian (Frida was Norwegian born).
@@kristena9285 No, I don't remember exactly who it was, and why they said things like that. But media here in Sweden and other places were giving her a hard time (and the critics were always very hard on ABBA). No need to feel bad about being Norwegian, I know the Norwegians are very proud of Frida, and doubt they ever said anything bad. And being Swedish ain't so great either these days. I'm beginning to feel that maybe ABBA were the only good thing to ever come out of this country!
@@kristena9285 Perhaps some people spoke bad about her because of this but there are also a lot of Frida haters who still speak bad about her today (we all can see it in many comment sections of ABBA videos here at TH-cam). There was also a female tv reporter who called Frida ugly because she had curly hair and not straight hair like Agnetha.
@@Lisa-M Yes, Agnetha was always the "winner" as far as media were concerned. The journalists always considered her to be the most beautiful and most talented of the two of them.. And here in Sweden Agnetha was already very popular before she joined ABBA She had a very successful solo career before she teamed up with the others, and had released a few albums, and many of her songs became big hits. So that could be one reason, Frida wasn't as well known as Agnetha, and maybe that made people a bit standoffish, so to speak. But I don't get what the current day hate towards Frida is all about, It's just so incredibly stupid and childish I must say!

was composed to pay homage to its capital city Stockholm (in Sweden)
hence are the images of this and all the official ABBA videos
(only exception: "Chiquitita" in the Alpine area of Switzerland)
I think this video was shot in 'real time'
I mean, the ABBA members went to a disco night, including the next sunrise
(the couple of the brunette Frida & Benny were the most nocturnal and energetic,
in contrast to the more familiar of blonde Agnetha & Björn)
the musical rhythm is influenced by the success of BEE GEES
with the soundtrack of the film "Saturday Night Fever"
Unfortunately is the only single Top10 in UK not include it in the compilation album "ABBA Gold" (1992)
and its composers Björn & Benny were never satisfied with the final arrangement,

This song is such a good bop. The live version is really good too but the music video is fun to watch. I believe they went out clubbing for real along with the director. You can tell at least Frida had a good time because she loves dancing 😁

Oh, the video brings back memories from the mid-80s. Greeted my friend in Stockholm, we danced all night on a restaurant boat. Walked home at night in our high heels across these bridges in Stockholm. Had to take these off and still remember the wonderful feeling walking through some rain puddles :)

Seems to be something funny going on with the comments section again, didn't see the later half of your first comment at first. But, yes she became friends with our queen Silvia after she'd met her former husband (her prince). Silvia is German , and so was he, so he got Frida introduced to the Swedish royals. Don't know how often they see each other these days though, Frida is rarely in Sweden nowadays. 🙂

Love this video, showing them all having a good time. And if your night out doesn't end in drunkenly taking a boat down the river then did you really have a good time? 🤔😂And to me, in the street it looks like Frida's getting a bit annoyed with Benny, like he's pushing her buttons to make her mad 😢
I read somewhere that Benny didn't like to dance and so Frida always had to dance with others in the disco. And so I imagine that she wanted to go on dancing but he wanted to go home and therefore she was upset with him on the way home. 😆

@@Lisa-M yes it was said Frida would often dance all night and wear out all the guys but she would still be going strong lol. It was not Benny's style and he probably didn't like her dancing with other guys. She's got that true red headed fiestiness!

Yes they were never satisfied with the mixes but they rocked it out in their 1979 world tour and did the original version with the unedited slow intro that was magical.
