This is a masterpiece which was big back in the days, but it goes rather unnoticed today, which is a real shame. It's one of their best, the harmonies, the solos of both Frida and Agnetha - and the beat. ABBA at their best, and Frida is so lovely in this video. Human, but beautiful.
Lol! The best reaction I have ever seen! You are a jealous guy. Yeah, Frida is indeed gorgeous. No way to disagree with you boy. Greetings from Rio de Janeiro. All the best to you.
Undoubtedly the finest ABBA song. A sonic landscape, with an hypnotic blend of Agnetha and Anna-Frid's gorgeous voices. Anna-Frid always struck me as the far _happier_ of the two women, and far more relaxed in her own skin. Though Agnetha with her big blue eyes and long blonde Swedish locks stole many a teenager's heart, it's Anna-Frid who still has men captivated years later. And she has aged like a fine wine - very well indeed, without remotely plasticising her beautiful face.

"She even makes throwing the dice look sexy!" 😂 This is my all time favorite ABBA song. I was just six years old when this came out; we were living in Germany (RAF camp) and when this video came on I felt like I was in that kitchen with them playing those games. I imagined they lived just down the road from me, in the next town, and could come visit whenever they wanted 😎Glorious memories!
Hip hopers THE FUGEES sampled this for their 1996 hit 'Rumble in the Jungle'.Twas the only time Benny and Bjorn gave permission for sampling. They got very flattered that was asked by a black band that was from different genre.Second and last time was for Madonna in 2005.All Others got turned down.
My favourite ABBA song, an absolute classic and Frida looks so beautiful with her gorgeous red hair, the colour and length really suited her. I was 11 years old when this song was released i remember the video very well, i was captured by Frida's stunning looks and wanted to look like her ❤ xx
Frida at her absolute most radiant beautiful here. She and Benny look in love! Though I must say my favorite part is when Agnetha has her chin resting on her fist and is singing "and I am never invited" with a depressed look on her face. That's like, the story of my whole life summed up in a few seconds.
Thanks for another great reaction to this amazing group ABBA. This song is on my top 10 with ABBA. Beathiful vocals from Agnetha and Frida. Happy birthday to Agneta today!!!
This song is *chef’s kiss* The harmonies are simply outstanding. Their voices are absolutely amazing in this and without them the song wouldn’t be the same. Of course the beat is really really good. You should watch On and On and On, Lay All Your Love on Me or I’ve Been Waiting For You next.

I think that "The name of the game" (1977) have some vibs of influences of BEATLES songs like "Penny Lane" or "Fool on the hill" (1967) curiosly, "The name of the game" was #1 in UK (4 weeks) and replaced in the #1 for "Mull of Kintyre" by Paul McCartney "The name of the game" is in my opinion a masterpiece one of the Seven Wonders of ABBA (in chronological order): Waterloo S.O.S Dancing Queen The name of the game Chiquitita The winner takes it all Don't shut me down You have fantastic songs in "The Album" (1977) to react, ABBA's most versatile album: "Eagle" almost 6 minutes amazing Take a chance on me (the banger hit) "One man one woman" (beauty ballad) "Move on" (fantástic chorus) "Hole in your soul" (powerful rock) included a mini musical from 1977 Tour: "Thank you for the music" (ABBA hymn) "I wonder" (dramatic ballad) "I'm a marionette" (progresive rock) I hope to see you soon in more ABBA videos A big hug from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South America PS: at the time of the official video (1977) the blonde singer Agnetha and the guitarist Björn was married since 1971, with one child in 1973 and in pregnancy of their second child (the only official video with Her pregnant) the brunette singer Frida and the bearded keyboardist Benny was engaged and living together since 1969 and married next year 1978
I believe this was one one of their happiest times. They had done a huge tour perviously and relesed a movie based on the tour so they had a couple of years break from touring. The new album was a huge sucess. Agnetha was heavily pregnant at the time of making this video with her and Bjorns second child. Hence she is sitting down the whole time and not in the spinning sqence And Anni-frid and Benny finally tied the knot after several years together and it shows in how happy and relaxed they are.
A double feature, thanks. Hope you had a good day. This is the perfect example of an ABBA song with all their usual elements. Fantastic solo from both girls, stunning harmonies, super catchy chorus and perfect pop arrangement.
Sensational - both the girls are great, huge crush on both and they can sure sing. Someone once said frida brings the warmth and Agnetha brings the passion and fireworks!
I love me some Abba, no doubt. There talent is stunning. and they've so many amazing songs, but my favourite thing about Abba is that they turned down one billion dollars to go on tour in 2000. Their lack of avarice, in a time when the art has become suppressed by the dollars, is very refreshing.
Next "Ring Ring" this was their first hit, 1973, before "Waterloo". It never crossed over but it was a major hit all through Europe!! Make sure you pull up the original Video. This year is it's 50th anniversary!! Of course "Waterloo" crossed over a hit all over the world. Then Frida solo "When all is said and done" it's a beautiful song, it's when she and Benny were breaking up!! 1981 (divorcing) but they still worked together!! "Winner takes it all" is when Agnetha and Bjorn were breaking up 1980 (divorcing) but they could still work together!!
One of ABBA´s best songs in my opinion! Did you know that ABBA only twice allowed other artists to sample from their songs? The most wellknown is Madonna who used the beat and synthesizer riff from Gimme, Gimme, Gimme - A Man after Midnight in her mega hit Hung Up! The other one is The Fugees who used the bass line and rhythm from this song - The Name of the Game - in their song Rumble in the Jungle!
I love your reaction - you get involved! This is one of my favorite ABBA songs. The swinging base line, low down drum pattern, acapella portion, and especially the way the melodies are presented and then sung simultaneously over each other. It's very complex vocal arrangement. Oh, and the voices!
This is one of only two Abba songs they allowed to be sampled when The Fugees used it for their track Rumble in the Jungle. I love this song - great reaction.

I thought the game being played looked a bit like Parcheesi, but not quite. I looked it up and found out it's called “Fia-spel”. Turns out it’s a Scandinavian version of the German board game “Mensch ärgere dich nicht”, which is a variation of Parcheesi/Ludo. So there's a reason it looks like Parcheesi, I guess.

I think that "The name of the game" (1977)
have some vibs of influences of BEATLES songs like "Penny Lane" or "Fool on the hill" (1967)

one of the Seven Wonders of ABBA (in chronological order):
Waterloo
S.O.S
Dancing Queen
The name of the game
Chiquitita
The winner takes it all
Don't shut me down
You have fantastic songs in "The Album" (1977) to react, ABBA's most versatile album:
"Eagle" almost 6 minutes amazing
Take a chance on me (the banger hit)
"One man one woman" (beauty ballad)
"Move on" (fantástic chorus)
"Hole in your soul" (powerful rock)
included a mini musical from 1977 Tour:
"Thank you for the music" (ABBA hymn)
"I wonder" (dramatic ballad)
"I'm a marionette" (progresive rock)
